Lee's cut-off-arm wasn't stitched up, so it's likely that he died of blood loss. If his arm isn't cut off, he dies of the infection. Pete might still live if they stitch up or cauterise his wound.
Same, I like Pete a lot. But man, what a slap in the face to Lee, if he doesn't cut his arm off he there's no chance of him surviving and if he does he's already too late.
I chose Pete simply because he needed my help more. Pete was injured and out of ammunition, Nick still had bullets and appeared to be fine. I actually think that Nick is a more likable character than Pete, but in the moment I figured Nick could take care of himself while I try to prevent Pete from getting eaten.
I choose Pete perhaps partially due to nick having bullets and better chance and blah blah.
But actually, another reason is when I looked at Pete's leg. At the time I felt like it looked less like a bite and more like....a scratch from walker hands or something. I dunno...
Ok, so from the scene shown in the next episode preview, he is indeed 100% bitten. But at the time I wasn't sure. Hopefully the amputation is on time, and hopefully it allows Pete to live long enough until atleast episode 3 or 4.(Considering sadly telltale have to eventually kill killable-by-choice characters at some point if they weren't killed already by the choices. Ya know, like carley/douge, and ben)
Yeah I just went back and replayed season 1, and I didn't understand why she didn't kick him either because you would of saved both of them if she would of had the sense to kick the zombie in the spur of the moment. (I saved Carley though because you always help the women before the man, or so from what I've been taught).
Nick had ammunition left and wasn't wounded.
Pete was out of ammunition and wounded.
And as it turns out I was right; Nick saves himself… more as he's physically able, Pete dies if you don't. They were both in danger but Nick was quite capable of making his own way to safety (and does) thus I opted to help the one who needed it most. It's the same reason I saved Doug in Episode 1; Carley had one zombie on her ankle, Doug had several grabbing him, thus I assisted the person who needed it most. It's just too bad Carley didn't think to kick/stomp on it (incoming downvotes from "muh waifu" people).

Nick, I took a look at Pete's leg and thought nope. Although amputation was an option from past experiences I wasn't to sure about that working. I never thought about that in the moment anyway and just went the guy who wasn't bit. I liked both Nick and Pete and I don't really judge Nick for what he did due to what he had been through, at least he had the balls to come and apologies unlike most of the group. Yes I accepted it and I think that he is a nicer guy if we get to know him better, he was just looking out for those he cared about and his mothers dead obviously hardened him.
Personally, I didn't want anything horrible to happen to Nick, and felt a connection with him... buuuut I thought it would be better to comfort poor Pete in his dying moments, maybe even get to amputate and let him live. Also, Pete seemed a bit like a new Lee, even before getting bitten.
I chose Pete for a lot of reasons stated above (wounded, no ammo, he's a cool dude) but the final thought I had that made me go with him was how he treated Clem when he and Luke found her. I thought "Well, when I was bitten Pete had my back despite everyone else freaking out. What kind of person would I be if I abandoned him when HE got bitten?" So the biggest reason, I suppose, is because he did the same for me. If he dies or not, well, I just felt I owed it to him.
Couldn't have put it better myself. Besides, what if TT wanted you to pick Nick on purpose? Maybe saving Pete in the long run might prove more important than Nick? I dunno.... We'll just have to wait and see i suppose.

I chose Nick...simply because the cabin was on that side of the river. I did regret my choice in leaving Pete behind because he was kind to me, but in the end I valued Clem's survival (even though I knew she wouldn't die :P) over Pete's.
Nick looks like he's getting sh*t-faced drunk in the next episode, so is it safe to assume we can't rely on him now? If he keeps his constant incompetence up, I doubt he'll make it through the next episode.

Exactly! The idea most people seem to have of 'that man was nice to Clementine, let's trust him' is naive. In essence, I ran to Nick because h… moree's the only guy there that I feel safe having Clementine alone with. Call me paranoid but I was majorly concerned when Pete took Clementine out hunting alone without telling Nick and quizzed her on her gun skills and I was relieved when Nick showed up. I'm not looking for a replacement Lee just people I can feel safe with. I think you're spot on about Sarah.
When they're first talking about Clementines bite when she arrives at the cabin Pete says "We could take her arm off, it worked for a cousin i… moren Ainsworth." This leads me to believe that Lee dies of blood loss if you take his arm off, after all it wasn't stitched up. This means Pete could take his foot off and possibly survive like Hershel in the TV series.
Well the way I see it, if Telltale did decide to go the route of having some kind of predator set his sights on Clementine (they would never l… moreet anything happen to her but I can see us having to escape from someone with sinister motives because, well, it's a bad world and it would also drive the plot forwards) it's gonna be someone who comes along acting super nice and helpful. I'm kind of on guard for that plot twist and I would not be surprised if it came from someone within her new group. That's why I really don't trust the guy who gave her the food however Nick treated her like he would any other adult so him, weirdly, I feel safe with. He freaked out that she showed up bitten (as any of us would have in season one had a random person shown up with a 'dog bite') and apologised afterwards. This is normal behaviour. I don't want anyone to treat Clementine differently because she's a little girl, she can look after herself and anyone that does, I've got my eye on.
Most people here didn't actually answer the question. Oh well...
I just hope NIck made it back to the cabin. Otherwise, he:
may show up with a walker bite.
will be dead/seen eaten alive by walkers.
captured by one of the people responsible for the carnage at the river
As for the debate on who to save, I initially saved Nick because Pete was already bitten and I have a strong feeling that he won't survive any amputation (if saved) due to time constraints. In the TV Series and Comics, Herschel and Dale, respectively, have their legs amputated just minutes after being bitten. However, Pete's situation is quite the same as Lee's because it took them a couple more minutes before having a chance to cut off their legs.
Agreed. Everyone is assuming because Nick runs he's at thecabin. For all we know thisCOULD be a Doug or Carley choice even if it looks like Nick always runs. Instead of Nick being killed in front of us, it could be either ambiguous or hes killed offscreen or afterward or captured and Pete does survive after all

To me it wasn't a "who are you gonna save situation" it was who was gonna protect cleam and who I trusted. I chose the guy who wasn't bitten and had ammo. I was an unarmed little girl at the time I thought there was no way I could help Pete.
I'm wondering if its turns into the opposite of epiosde 1.
Right now Pete and Nick live if you pick Pete and only Nick if you pick Nick however maybe next episode Pete dies from blood loss after amputation and you find walker Nick on the way back. If you choose Nick you both make it back That would be a nice twist and a split in the story
He gave Clem a chance when she was bitten.
I felt that I owed him a chance too, even if his bite is a confirmed walker's.
He seemed to know about the whole amputation thing too, and seems to have no issue with it. Let him have a chance at trying to make it.
Nick was on the river side of the house , too. He could have just ran back there on his own.
Honestly I would be awesome if Nick actually survives if you save Pete. TT could play it on a very smart way:Pete is bitten - you automatically assume he is going to die, plus he is out of ammo.It would be a natural choice to save Nick. And that's what most people did. However,if you save Pete -- Nick runs off, comes back the next episode, and Pete survives by cutting his foot off.
I'll say that Carley was so at the heat of the moment, and immediately thought "my gun" that she didn't think to just stomp the zombie. Also I'm gonna say that kicking a zombie off your feet is probably a lot harder to do than you might think.
Nick had ammunition left and wasn't wounded.

Pete doesn't necessarily die, if you choose him, the teaser for the next episode hints that he's going to cut his foot off. We all know from Dale in the Comic-series or Hershel in the TV-series that this can save one's life.

I saved Nick the first time because I saw him get bit, so I figured he was dead anyways.. But the second time I played the episode I saved Pete. I think Pete will end up dying pretty soon anyways. Sort of just like when I saved Ben from falling in the clock tower, but later he fell to his death on a spike. sort of like that haha
Telltale said in an interview (I'll try and find it) that this is a HUGE choice that affects the rest of the season. I think Pete survives if you save him and maybe Nick lives no matter what. However maybe whether Pete's alive or dead will affect Nick for the rest of the season and maybe he's less useful and more suicidal if you lose Pete. Could be interesting, because of that interview I'm assuming Pete lives if you save him and his fate will influence future events.

They said that this would be a huge choice that affects the rest of the season. I think choosing Pete will save everyone and is the best outcome despite being the riskier deal. In contrast saving Nick will not only lose Pete, but send Nick on a downward spiral because of his anger at Clementine and himself for not being able to save his uncle, and regret that the last thing he said to him was call him an asshole.
I like how much better they did this choice than last season, like it was completely split down the middle with a small lean towards Pete. I guarantee that if Pete did not get bitten (Maybe it really was a scratch and the teaser is lying about cutting his leg off) that the choice would be 100% towards Pete.
I'm wondering if its turns into the opposite of epiosde 1.

Yeah, if you save Pete, you'll see Nick run off into the woods before you and Pete get the hell outta dodge. So he's probably alive... probably.

My Top 3 Suggsetions are : Christa , Lilly , Kenny ... I Think That choosing kenny is a dumb idea .. but it may be him
My first Initial reaction was Kenny when I heard that though lol
Nick, because Pete was already bit, so I knew he was probably not going to make it. Also Nick looks like Kenny, who is my favorite character

Nick because he is Rebeca's baby daddy
I saved Pete as well, and I also felt like I owed him for when he gave me the benefit of the doubt.
He told Nick though. They walked ahead is all
I don't know. Nick could run but it doesn't mean he'll show up at the cabin. Pete though how are we going to help him back to the cabin with one leg?
Isn't it because Lee took so long before cutting his arm?
NATE

I saved nick and im wondering what happends to them both in episode 2 and do u think they will both die by the end of the season
I think almost all the cabin survivors will be dead before the end of the season, almost a guarantee.
I saved Pete.

It would be a nice change to have someone survive an amputation like Herschel. Badass Pete ftw

I think you should cut the limb with in minutes that to work, or am i wrong? Still i picked Pete too.
Yes, but that never gonna happen, TTGs games have brilliant story but choises are allway pretty vain, but that would be awesome to see...
Clementine does not need a protection no more, she the badaas boss.
