Nick or Pete?

  • Nick to me was the worst traits of Kenny and Ben combined. Short tempered, rash, quick to judge, and accident prone. I would rather take a one legged Pete over him.

Nick reminded me of Kenny, and Kenny was my favorite character so...obvious choice for me.

  • Telltale confirmed in an interview that this choice is supposed to be a big deal and affects the rest of the season. I think Pete survives and everything is goodish under the circumstances. However losing Pete will make Nick suicidal and less helpful towards Clementine since Nick clearly didn't need the help but his uncle did and he'll hold resentment towards Clem for that. I'm sure the last thing Nick wanted was for his uncle to die so soon after an argument.

Honestly I would be awesome if Nick actually survives if you save Pete. TT could play it on a very smart way:Pete is bitten - you automaticall

  • I saved pete. I felt a connection with him, and maybe we should do a hershel or a dale. Also, He reminds me of my stepfather, how he said that "He had to discipline nick and couldn't be 'fun uncle pete'" Thats how my stepfather was to me and I didn't come to appreciate it till years later, so that's why I picked pete.

  • I saved Nick

  • Pete cause he had a crossbow and we needed a Daryl-like figure

  • Nick - didn't it show you in the cutscene Pete getting bit in the ankle by a walker? Plus Pete was a complete dick and just constantly having a go at Nick, until Nick lives up too Bens HIGH HIGH standards then im defending him all the way too market.

  • Well, here's what I think. Pete is meant to die. Which is why if you save Nick you see him die. If you save Pete, in the trailer it shows Pete looking at a hacksaw indicating that he will cut off his leg. Since that is pretty soon after he got bit, I think he'll save himself from the bite by cutting off his leg, but he will end up dying later. Nick on the other hand, I think will survive long and will be a main part of the story and have a big impact. I mean, you can save him, and if you don't save him, you don't see him die. So either way he stays alive. He's meant to stay alive because he's an important part of the story. This is why I suggest you save Pete, it's a better choice since both live if you choose Pete, but if you choose Nick then Pete dies. We'll just have to wait and see, but I guarantee you that Nick will have a big impact on the story.

  • I like your theory and I can definitely see that happening but Pete and Nick should be equals. One guy shouldn't have the ability to live longer than another :(. Also there are 2 decisions in game already that involve Nick so hes going to stick around for sure!

  • Yeah, I can see him becoming a fan favorite and we might end up in another Kenny situation.

  • If Pete is going to surive after the amputation, he`s gonna be the new "Lee" for our Clementine :D

  • I saved Pete. I think both Nick and Pete are going to die in Episode 2 unfortunately because it feels like a Carley/Doug choice, except if you save Nick, Pete dies in ep 1 and Nick dies in ep 2, and if you save Pete, both die in ep 2.

But at least you get to have Pete around a LITTLE longer. I do not think that cutting off his leg will help - either he'll die from the complications during the amputation (bleed out, etc) and turn, or will get the leg cut off, not die from that, but it would not be fast enough to cut off the virus and he'll still turn anyway (like Lee did)

  • I saved Pete, because he didn't have any ammo and had Clem's back. Also, when Nick said "I'll cover you" I just thought he was going to cover me while I went to save Pete, and just panicked. While Nick was maybe in danger, I knew that Pete would definitely die if I didn't help him, so it was kinda obligatory for me

  • Actually I saved Nick, but I'm going with the idea that Nick is going to stick around for a while... I guess he survives anyways for a reasons, and I like Nick I hope he lives at least until the end.

Basically I went to Nick's side because I saw he had more walkers on him that Pte and I thought that Pete could make a run for it even if hurt, since there were only 3 walkers and Nick had a bunch of them...

Other thing that counted A LOT to me is taht Nick is in the cabin's side of the river and Pete is on the opposite, so Clem would be running to a side where she knows she has a save haven and not to the unknow, don't get me wrong, I like the unknown but I guess CLem would have better chances in terrain she knows ;)

  • I don't think it's a Carley/Doug choice. In that choice, if you save one, the other dies. In THIS choice however, whatever you choose, Nick still survives as far as we know. This is why I think Nick will have a big impact on the story, and we'll be seeing him for a while.

  • I had to go with Nick. Pete seemed like a cool dude but there was no way I was going to run to someone that appeared to be bitten and out of ammo.

  • No, Lee died from blood loss. If they had burned his wound, it would have stopped the bleeding.
    (Like Merle in TV-series)

Isn't it because Lee took so long before cutting his arm?

  • I saved Nick. He was not bitten, and honestly, I liked him more.

  • One assumption is that if you save Pete, you'll walk past Nick's dead corpse on the way back to the cabin during Episode 2 A House Divided. Not that I'd really want that to happen, obviously.

  • That's actually a good theory. Maybe that will happen, but I don't know if Pete and Clementine were heading to the cabin because of the walkers.

At the end of Episode 1 All That Remains they were not. Tthey will eventually have to, though. Clementine is seen back with the Cabin survivors in the preview after all.

They are both great characters. Still, I chose Pete. They clearly have an unresolved uncle-nephew relationship storyarc and I want to do my best to see it completed before either one of them dies.
    Hopefully Telltale delivers.

Alternatively, maybe instead of the atrociously predictable "If a character CAN die now, he WILL die later" logic coupled with the recurring amputation-never-works mindset present in the games, Telltale could surprise us and have the one we choose live all the way until Episode 4 Amid The Ruins or with a grand badass sacrifice or something in Episode 5 No Going Back or hell, maybe even survive the season.

...Come on, a guy can dream, right?

I mean seriously. Pegleg Pete. Pegleg. Pete. MAKE IT HAPPEN, TELLTALE.

  • I saved NIck because Pete was going to die regardless. With that bite on his leg, they would have had to amputate it, which would have killed him anyway considering Carlos is such a shitty doctor (durr, iz dat pepple bit or doge bit? I do no no. U stay n shed, den we see eff doge bit or pepple bit). Nick is secretly Kenny anyway, so there's always that.

I don't think this is going to be a Carley/Doug again, as Nick runs off into the woods if you choose Pete, whereas Pete just gets chewed on if you choose Nick.

  • I honestly saved Nick because I liked him. I thought he deserved another chance.

  • I played it more than once so, both.

  • Yeah, you're right.

If you wait longer than one or two minutes, you will probably die.

Dale was the longest survivor to a bite (estimated half an hour) while Morgan died even though his arm was cut of 10 seconds after he was bit by Michonne.

So, I can't see Pete live. He's most likely gonna die.

I think you should cut the limb with in minutes that to work, or am i wrong? Still i picked Pete too.

  • I was rewatching my playthrough last night (I picked Nick) and I still think it's awesome how each route is so vastly different. Clementine having her first drink with Nick is one of my all time favorite moments from the series.
