  • I reallylove it , but why isn't there any musics or sounds in game ? ;-; when i played demo , there were a lot of musics in it.

  • edited August 2014

There should be music in it. I'll check to make sure.

EDIT : It seems there's some problems with sound. Sometimes it's there and sometimes it's not. It seems to be an odd glitch. I'll try and contact the administrator to get this sorted out.

Ah solved it, it's to do with browsers. Please use Internet Explorer to play the game, if you'd like sound.

  • Thank you so much! :D

  • I have to admit, even though I am not really into text based games, that I have enjoyed this first episode of what will undoubtedly go on to be an awesome series. Also I like the way you left the ending so ambiguous, since it means you have to wait until the next episode to fully comprehend what has actually happened.

Perhaps I will later even go on to replay it, just so I can see all the possible outcomes.

I can only hope that the second episode will come out "soon".

  • Thank you so much, I appreciate it. :)

What the hell, I'm shocked I've only now heard about this game :o

Awesome shit, keep up the good work!

    I'm just sad I learned about it already, as I now have to wait...again ;-;

But I feel it will be worth the wait, just like the main game.

I like how you included hubs, I couldn't have figured out how to bring them in there and they worked really well.

    MY CHOICES:

    1. I told John I was from Savannah

    2. I decided to go to the grocery store

    3. I managed to get through the store undetected

    4. Noone died

  • Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it. My only mission now is to write all the different paths following the multiple endings, as well as making the episode longer. Thanks again, I really appreciate it! :D

  • Woah, that was intense, superb work! I can't wait until episode 2! One question though, how many episodes are there going to be? Thanks!

  • Thank you so much. There are going to be six episodes, which show your journey trying to survive the harsh world of 'The Walking Dead'. If you think this is intense now, just wait until you see what occurs in the future ;)

    My Choices:

    3. I ran into walkers on the way out of the store.

    4. Noone died in my story.

Also, HUBS. Thank you for hubs.

Episode Two is already in its planning stages, it will contain seven different openings based on your choices from 'A New World'.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed the episode, I apologize to those who found it perhaps a bit too short. I will try and make the next episode longer, as well as generally just try to make the episode better in any way I can. Thank you guys so much for enjoying and playing the episode! :D

It won't let me save my game >.<

EDIT: Scratch that, I was just being stupid :P

  • Great game, I had a lot of fun. It looks like you really put a lot of work into fleshing out all the options.

Minor English thing: 'sadistic' means enjoying the pain of others, it has nothing to do with being sad. You used it a couple times so I thought I'd mention it.

  • I'm glad you enjoyed it, and oh I apologize. I most likely should have researched that, I'll try to use different terms in the future. Thank you for telling me. :D

Btw. HarjKS - nice picture for episode 2. :) I also checked if the episode has alternate endings and it does. Great job again. I hope next episodes will be the same if we're talking about multiple endings (two or more). Maybe not exactly endings but multiple paths, yes. :D

  • There will be different paths, but there will be less endings. :D

  • Where's the music? Played through the whole episode without hearing a thing and, no I'm not stupid, I had my sound up and headphones plugged in.

  • He wrote that he recommended to play on Internet Explorer if you want to hear any sound.

  • I absolutely loved the episode, but I do have a question; Do I have to make an account on that site for my choices to be carried over? I'll do that if it's necessary but I just want to make sure.

  • Yeah. If you want your game progress (in that case - choices) to be saved you need to have an account and be logged in.

  • There's a few typos, wrong word choice here or there. But given that it's free? Relatively entertaining. Once all six episodes have been released, and if they having meaningful endings/different endings it'll be a nice way to spend/waste a few hours.

Don't feel bad if you need to recreate hub scenes over and over with tiny variations in later Episodes though. Like (bad examples )

John fiddled with his pistol in the corner. Laura was sorting through supplies.
John fiddled with his pistol in the corner. Steve was on watch.
Laura and Steve were in the middle of a heated arguement.

  • I can't reveal too much but yes, different choices can open different openings for each episode, and effect relationships. For example: Steve in the next episode may hate you (if you accidentally shot him whilst trying to save him from the gunstore bandit) and let Laura die, or he may like you or he may even be bitten.

  • I apologize for this, however it's simply just how the website works. It isn't entirerly adapted to new browsers (such as Firefox or Chrome). I apologize for this once again, you can always download the game and use the 'Quest' software to open it if you'd also like sound.

  • Thank you so much, I most likely stick to changing hub scenes though to keep it fresh and introduce players into new situations. But thank you again, I really appreciate it! :D

  • You do and you don't. There's not a very clear way to bring choices over, what happens is the next episode will you ask you what happened previously in the last episode, and you will answer. It will then carry the choices over.

  • You should have voted that no one died. However it's fine, as long as you enjoyed the episode :)

That looked great! Looking forward for Episode 2 :D

    My choices:

    1. You told him you escaped Savannah

    2. Gun store

    3. You were attacked by walkers as you tried to get through the store (Even if that's not really a choice)

    4. No one died in your group (Yet :P)

  • Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed the episode, and that event was the result of your choices, so I'd like to say it's somewhat your choice. But thank you again! :D

  • This is a cool idea. I'D be happy to do any proofreading if you need help. I have done it before for various authors. Not any indication on here obviously...typing with s tablet is hard.
