You're right, I don't get it. And honestly, I probably never will.
It's like people who loved Super Smash Bros. Melee hating Super Smash Bros. Brawl all over again. The general audience will find themselves enjoying the company's most recent work, but the people who pretty much worshipped it's predecessor will always complain about the smallest differences between the two.
Even though Season Two isn't done yet, I can honestly say that I'm at the point where I'm having trouble figuring out which one I like better, and I was hoping for that. Not even joking.
Why telltale, why? We are your biggest fans but you don't listen to us or answer our questions. All we get is some bullshit excuses and then dead silence.
I mean, come the fuck on, grow some balls and at least explain why you are making your episodes shorter.
Stop buying the game...I haven't bought an episode since s2e1 but one measly person doing that doesnt mean shit..a couple hundred or a thousand on the other hand...
Do you think if Telltale makes a season 3 that it will have longer episodes and hubs? Why? Why not? Do you think they will be too busy with other projects or not?
I've said this before and I'll say this again. Hubs only make sense to be in the game if it works with the plot. If you play as a little girl in a game where the basic theme is "Who can you trust," it doesn't make any sense for Clementine to just walk around and randomly talk to people, especially if you tell her not to trust anyone at the end of Season One.

Here we go again... Threads like this have been made over twenty times, and at no avail have made the episodes any longer. I myself find the episodes are fine, as the story is good, however they could make it longer, and I don't mind losing hubs. This continuous moaning, and protesting about making it longer however, doesn't really change anything, a petition was made a while ago with around two-hundred people signing it, yet Telltale did nothing. Go ahead and complain about how short it is. It won't matter how many up votes you get (Lol 57 already, the last thread had 261 I think), and how many down votes I get, I'm just stating that this has been said many times before but nothing was done about it.
I bought TWAU and TWD S2 without a moment's hesitation, because I thought even if they didn't improve they'd at least be worth the money.
"Faith" may have arguably been worth the entire $20 I paid for TWAU. So far TWD S2, if I could go back in time I'd tell myself to wait and pick it up when PSN puts it up for sale at $5.
So yeah, another recovering telltale fanatic here who has no intention of giving them any more money until all episodes of a game are released and generally seem well done. This whole buying on faith in their abilities thing screwed me over.
As someone who once was a huge Telltale asskisser, i won't be buying their next 2 games. Unless the 2 remaining episodes of TWD show me that they've finally learned but that's still highly unlikely.
I've said this before and I'll say this again. Hubs only make sense to be in the game if it works with the plot. That's only 0.1 percent...
Back when pc games were hot...you heard of Command and Conqueror or red alert? Those games were top notch strat… moreegy games.. EA bought out many GREAT COMPANIES and sabotage the games and made a piece of shit quality games...
I know these trollers down voting me but i don't give a fuck cause they don't know shit about EA or Activision....do some research on it...not just simcity crap.
Activision did shady business with Call of duty modern warfare franchise...the creators... Activision "fired" them..for no apparent reason....and they took over call of duty series..and made it crappy...
There's lot more going on and i'll won't explain it here..do research
another thing... MAXIS was the originator of sim city series....they made the games top notch...till EA bought them out...and went wrong direction.
I don't think the problem is the lack of hubs. I'd be very happy if we had this "cinematic gameplay", but with more screentime, giving every character their moment to shine.
Imagine a great episode like "A House Divided" with the same cinematic experience, but with more dialogue, more action (QTE), more story, etc.
I, personally, don't feel the need to have puzzles or places to just walk around; my only complaint is the lack of content. For exemple: In Harms Way, we have the Truck Scene, The Arrival at the Community, The Day of Work, Robbing the Radio, The Beatdown, Carver's ending and the Horde Section; and most of them has ten to fifteen minutes at most!
I can only repeat what I have already said before.
It baffles me how Telltale think, that somehow when an episode takes over 90 minutes to complete, it is suddenly impossible to finish it "in one sitting". There are entire games that can be played from the beginning to the end in one go, but "why would I want to do that?" you might ask, well for me it is mainly because that way I get more immersed into the game, moreover, once I finish it it will not fade from my memory as easily, of course this may not be for everyone.
Nevertheless I believe that at this point it can be said with certainty: People want longer episodes, which mind you wouldn't be all that hard to do, the simplest way to solve this would be by implementing a Proper Hub like in S1, meaning you can talk to Everyone while you walk around the area trying to solve a puzzle, not only would this give us some very much needed character development, but it would also make the episode longer.
Problem is that, besides TWAU Ep.1, I have never finished an episode in this "New Telltale Era" with 90 minutes, most of them were beaten with 70~75 min at most....
I can only repeat what I have already said before.

You guys got to decide. Are we going to complain about telltale not releasing every month or are we going to complain about how short the episodes are. To be totally honest myself I would never have thought Season 2 was shorter if it wasn't for my trophy data.
Telltale when we ask for longer episodes and Hub areas ^
I debated this since the first episodes even the staff responded to all the criticism and still no change in fact it became less and less each episode yet still the same price nothing will work

Prior to the introduction of Telltale's tailored choice system, Telltale made games that were not only longer, but also released in (literal) monthly intervals. I suspect that a part of the length between episodes lies not on Telltale overall, but rather on how they account for the different player choices. For example, I recall reading an article on Walking Dead Episode 104 stating that the script for that Episode was the length of two movie scripts due to how many variations of choice they had to account for.
Of course, I'm not trying to put the choice system in a negative light, I'm just pointing out that it's probably taking Telltale some time to get used to - no matter how large or small the impact of your choices may be.
As for Episode length itself, however, that does seem to lie on Telltale's behalf. Telltale staff members have expressed interest in having "one-sitting" games. I personally wish the Episodes were longer and more immersive, but fortunately, Telltale can use the strengths of their Episodic schedule for games in order to incorporate feedback into future episodes or series.

Let me guess?... Three down votes coming my way?
I have a gut feeling/hope there will be hubs in episode 4, at least one. Since it seems to be a little bit less slower than the previous episodes we will be chilling in a Museum so hopefully then we will be able to have some hubs.

Money talks bullshit walks. The only way to get telltales attention is MONEY. I am totally disgusted with TWD season two. When I played the first season all episodes were already released. I played straight through and thought it was the best game ever. Season two with its delays have killed the game for me. I won't start playing again until the last episode has been released for this season. I will never buy another season pass from telltale. I will continue to buy and play their games but not until the last episode has been released. Hit telltale in the pocket book and maybe they will start to listen. DON”T BUY ANY MORE SEASON PASSES. Wait until the last episode has been released before you buy.
The only thing I kinda miss are the hubs, but I can live without the "puzzles". A lot of the time they were tedious and just there for extra padding to make the episode feel longer. I would love to talk to characters again during calmer moments, but I also don't mind not having it. It'd be nice to have, but the circumstances between Lee's story and Clem's story is different, so it won't bother me if Clem doesn't have hubs.
But I won't complain if some pop up next episode. I'm honestly fine with how it is now, though.
what do you mean delays i never give a date and then delay it; also why are you disgusted with twd?
You should be disgusted with the wait and waiting until the finale is done and then playing it sounds MUCH better. These waits are ridiculous, I agree but I wouldn't call it "delaying"

No. When i decided i would record every episode and put them into 1 video. i got this.
S1E1: 1 hour and 13 minutes
S1E2 1 hour a… morend 27 minutes
S1E3: 1 hour and 42 mintutes
S1E4: 1 hour and 54 minutes
S1E5 1 hour and 29 minutes.
This is right. i have it all documented on my PC.
Remember the times when EA meant good games?
Mass Effect 2, Crysis, Dragon Age Origins, Dead Space, and a lot of other games....
But since Dragon Age 2 was released, almost everything published by them was utter cr*p
Comments
All they need is to add 3-4 hubs & interacting with other people, talking to them...
Personally I think that "A house divided" was an awesome episode! I lost track of time how good the episode was...
They need Nick Breckon (writer of ^ this episode)to write more episodes. He will, however be involved in "No going back/Better to sleep".
You're right, I don't get it. And honestly, I probably never will.

WE WANT LONGER EPISODES
Do you think if Telltale makes a season 3 that it will have longer episodes and hubs? Why? Why not? Do you think they will be too busy with other projects or not?
I honestly don't care about time as long as the story is good I'm ok with it

Thank you! ^___^ I hope that will be the case. It's been confusing and anxiety-provoking but I like the path I'm on.
I'm not sure where you are (middle school/high school/college/beyond) but I wish you well too!
Well, I had the Carley problem with batteries... if you can count this a puzzle. :P

I really don't care anymore. We try everything and still no sign of 2 hour episode.
I bought TWAU and TWD S2 without a moment's hesitation, because I thought even if they didn't improve they'd at least be worth the money.

What?
I was not accusing you i was talking to everyone.
Honestly, I would prefer having to wait another month, if I knew that EP4 would then be over 2 hours long.
Yes we need longer episodes we need hubs and more character development it what made season 1 so great.
Normally, I'm not much of a gif person, buuuutttt....

Like I said before, they wouldn't feel short if you weren't looking at a timer the whole time. This complaining about length is really old now
yeah.
How Telltale reacts when they see we want longer episodes and hubs
