That's understandable, but people said the same thing about Wolf Among Us, which was based off of the Fables comics that had an extremely obscure and niche premise.
Most of the Telltale games I've played have been my introduction to the source material they were based off of and I still manage to enjoy them.
Kenny was hated SO much, that it still surprises me that so many people love him now. It was like a complete turnaround.
Hate threads on … moreKenny were everywhere. People rarely did playthroughs where they sided 100% with him , so people defending him as a "bro" were almost never seen.

Mostly it was insane hate on Kenny because in most playthroughs he didn't come with Lee to save Clem. Most people got the "Would you be there for me if it was me?" speech from him.
And of course, people thinking Lee was going to live because he was immune by some miracle, or that the bite was a scratch.
"If Lee dies, we riot!", "I'll never buy another Telltale game!" that kind of stuff too.
People were thinking that cutting his arm off would save him, too.

Since Episodes were longer, characters were more fleshed out. Some people still hated Ben, but once the big choice occurred in Episode 4, most people defended him and lashed out at the people who dropped him.
I think it was a bit worse than Sarah.
Sarah at least has quite a bit of supporters on the forum. Way lot more than he ever did.
Funny… more though, that most people still didn't drop him. Clementine saying he was her friend was kind of a wake up call for some.

I think most people hated him until Episode 4, and then everyone's opinion changed and they stood up for him by saying that they didn't want to be like Crawford.

People were in an uproar that Telltale had dared to kill Lee,hate threads and crazy theories on how he had "definitely" survived were spammi… moreng the entire forums, people thinking he was immune, and anyone who tried to reason that Lee really died got downvoted to hell. Lol.
It went on for quite some time. It was quite chaotic.
As nice as Walking Dead is, I'm glad that Telltale is taking a breather for a bit and exploring other universes. If it makes you feel better… more about the long wait, keep in mind that Telltale working on more episodes and games can be a good thing as that can allow Telltale to hone down the gameplay formula by the time Season 3 hits.
Season 2 had some new control options that were inspired by Wolf Among Us, for instance, with the different dialogue screens and the new way to select things in the environment.
The forums is gonna be filled with what happened in Episode 5, then speculations and theories for Season 3 followed by people complaining about why Season 3 is taking so long.
I did that not too long ago and found this hilarious thread from back before S1 EP3 released about romance and read it. Turns out it was 40% romance, 50% guessing whether Christa was a girl or a guy with boobs, and 10% guessing what race Omid was.
There are. There are still some of the cool ones from that period a few months ago and beyond. But all in all its just negative, critical, repetitive, and a lot of ignorance around here lately. But it is what it is, so I've stopped coming as much and just hope it gets better
I'm not sure how it was before I joined but I'm pretty sure there are some nice people around.
Maybe the problem is the average age and TWD becoming more popular. Popularity does that.

I'll stick around, only in TWDG forums though, not ready to delve into new franchises. It'll be kinda boring, but then we can say "the wait was so long between S2 and S3" , etc. etc.

What were people reactions here when Lee got bit at the end of S1EP4?
Was there hatred for Ben like Sarah or worse?
Old member of the forum talking to a new member Also, no offense to old forum members
New Member: Man, Kenny's such a badass right?
Old Member: Why back in MY DAY, Kenny was a complete a piece of shit. Damn you new members, you and your Season 2's. I only had a Season 1.

They rioted didn't they?
Kenny came with to find Clem in my game.

Huh, care to tell anything else? This is pretty interesting to me.
How did people defend Ben when they found out that he was the giving the bandits supplies?
I'm staying here even after it's over. I hope some people stay too.
I think most people hated him until Episode 4, and then everyone's opinion changed and they stood up for him by saying that they didn't want to be like Crawford.
My group an the end of Episode 4
I saw videos about theories that Lee lived all over YouTube. Kenny too.
I'm also sticking around, because Tales From The Borderlands and Game of Thrones interests me.
I'd say you're more missing than changed.
I fear the more games Telltale develops, the decrease of quality of content will portray each episode overall by working on so many projects.

I'm not going to complain about S3 taking a while to come out. A good story takes some time to be written.
About the new games. These have different writing teams, right? If so I don't think we have to worry about the quality of TWD.

Well,at least we're still gonna have Tales from the Borderlands and Game of thrones to keep us occupied
His The Walking Dead text adventure.

You can play it there, it's pretty awesome.
Yes, it will be very boring
Oh trust me I know
and that's great.

NO lol.
Sure I do, but I'll definitely stay on the forums after the season ends. We'll have Tales from the Borderlands soon anyway. :P
Read that in Javik's voice. Such an awesome character.
I don't know why they just don't stick Lee Everett in Tales Of Borderlands, at least i would be excited about it, right now its more of a meh at best.
Throw it out the airlock
I'm staying around for the people, the new games, and theories.
I found the romance thread, was it about Lee and Carley?
What did people think about Kenny Saltlicking Larry?
We can only hope. I recently made an account, but lurked around for months and saw the change.

When does Borderlands come out?
Gotta love your name.
