  • The horrors of the apocalypse!!

  • I don't think knowing how to survive or being hardened by loss makes someone a tomboy.

  • Okay, I don't see how this is an issue..

  • Clementine's had a lot of women in her life. She was with Christa for 16 months.

This is still a really weird thread, though. Why does she have to be a young lady? She is who she is.

  • So we're going to ignore the fact that she was alone with a maternal figure for over 16 months - over 4X longer than the time spent with Lee? Yeah, the writers might unintentionally be pushing Clem to become more masculine by having most of her mentors be men and having Jane be a short-haired, compassionless creep...

It's interesting to note that by this point, both she and Lee have the same color schemes - blue jeans and blue tops. Clem's sunshine and rainbows make her clothes girlier, though.

Yeah... so? She was with Christa for over a year. Being a "young lady" isn't important in the apocalypse. As long as she knows how to survive, that's all that matters. The world of gender roles and stereotypes is gone now.

  • She doesnt act like a tomboy. She's not doing anything boyish. She's just acting like a person. Sorry she doesnt have pretty dresses and makeup to make her look like a young lady.

  • If she was a 'young lady', nobody would like her and TWDG would be a piece of shit.

  • She's not just being made into a "tomboy" by the men in her group. She's also making them into "girly men." Because gender is contagious like that, you see. All males and females who interact with each other for any extended period of time eventually become completely androgenous beings who transcend the concept of gender altogether.

I grow up in a house of men, my mother was killed when I young, I naturally become a tom-boy. yes something like grow up without mother figure would effect something like this.

But really is not a big deal. its not, its a zombie apocalypse you wear something practicable, make-up, fashion and nails don't mater anymore. If you find a coat that's too large to wear you wouldn't throw it away, you would use it as a blanket.

  • You can see the change in the first Episode. 9 year old Clem wears a dress and little ballet shoes (I'm not sure what to call them), while the 11-year old we know wears jeans and sneakers.

Come to think of it, I don't recall any adult female character in the series so far wearing dresses.

  • Okay I'm sorry for the stupid thread. I just wanted to see others opinions, and I got them.

  • Did you forget she was around Christa longer than anyone throughout the apocalypse?

  • The writers did.

  • Well, do you expect Clementine to sit like a princess and drink tea everyday?

Well I love tomboy Clem. But I did show one of my friends the All that remains trailer and she couldn't see her pigtails and thought she was a boy, I was pissed, and then my sister thought she was a lesbian because she wore a hat. (Don't have anything against lesbian but it's not like a hat will determine your sexuality plus she's only 11.)

  • What About Bonnie?

  • you ain't a girl, you ain't a boy

I think Luke and Jane knew very well who was what that night

  • So what if Clementine is a tom boy? What's so wrong with that?

  • Your sister's weird if she makes those assumptions about girls with hats.

  • Dresses Would Make It More Likely Not To Survive. Think About It, It Could Get Caught, Or Zombies Could Bite Right Through It (They Aren't Very Thick).
