Carver and Sarah
(source of the pic)
Idk if this moment was already discussed here, but I'm still questioning it. I mean, he seem to be almost gentle while touching her and saying something. I think it was an interesting and odd behaviour of him.
What do you think he was saying to her and why?

Highly possible It's a pity Sarah never talked about this scene
want some candy
i imagine he was trying to get her to his side somehow
Maybe, but I didn't expect him to act like this at all. I thought he would treat her just like Reggie if not worse.
"Are you gonna bark all day little doggie, or are you gonna bite?"
He wasn't the person who would feel compassion for Sarah.
Remember how he forced Carlos to hit her?
He probably said:
'That's what happens to weaklings, darling. Are you weak, Sarah? You better not be. Get your shit together, gurl.'
The moment before Carver pushed off Reggie, you remember, she looked emotionless and desperate at the same time. When Clem started to call her name, I thought for a second she's bona jump off.. I think Carver noticed the way she looked and that's the reason he approached her to say smth.
That actually sounds like truth
[Carver] Hey sarah
[Sarah] Carver, stop it please.
[Carver] Sarah, I made a belt out of watches... It was a ...
[Sarah] CARVER STOP!
[Carver] a waist of time, Sarah.
That comment you got there...
Made me laugh my ass off
What's also weird is that Carver could bring himself to smack Clementine, but not Sarah. Maybe he liked her in some way?
As for what Carver said to Sarah, he probably reminded her why she was hit in relation to why he killed Reggie and to not mess up again.
I think he was trying to comfort her....but that's just me having wishful thinking. (I smiled really huge when I saw him going over to her and seeming to comfort her when I first played)
I think Carver had a thing for kids. Maybe not in a creepy way, he might have just had a soft spot for them.
That was the first thing that I though about too, but it would be so weird of him
i thought this was a ship thread
I just choked
Carver has no problem with hurting kids, but he doesn't want to kill them when they still have the potential to be useful. My guess is that he turned on his sleazy, feigned friendliness for Sarah and gave her some nonsense about how she'd better shape up if she doesn't want to end up like Reggie.
This is why Carlos hates him so much - Carver believes force and violence is the only way to discipline children, and has no room for genuine compassion. This is also why Carver deliberately decided to make Carlos hurt his daughter rather than do it himself. By trying to make her lose her trust in her dad, Carver would have tried to act like he only wanted what was best for her.
