Why I believe ***** is the best option

I want to start this thread by saying that everyone has different perspectives, beliefs, and functions in their life, so I'm not saying that Kenny's ending is the best because that's subjective, but I'm simply stating why I personally think it is and my reasoning behind why I think that.

Kenny's behavior
While Kenny was beginning to look like a monster, I am able to excuse and understand his behavior because of the things he has gone through. I've also seen Kenny go through this and pull through, I'm not going to give up on him simply because he's acting aggressive considering the things which are occurring around him, he is human, he is not meant to be perfect. The endings with Kenny also back this up, he openly admits that he has become filled with anger and he apologizes for it. (he also does the same thing if you shoot him and he says things like " I'm sorry I've let you down or "You're better off without me" he never shows even a tad bit of spite or anger even if you shoot him) This shows once more that Kenny was not at the point of no return, that he was NOT a monster, and that given the right circumstances he would have been a better person. Also, in Kenny's ending you can CLEARLY see that he wants and has always wanted the best for you and AJ, he pleads for the lady to let you stay, he begs you to go, and he gives you tips on how to raise AJ and you can see true compassion and empathy from him. Kenny's ending is definitely more sadder and more fulfilling at least to me.

Uncertainty about Jane
Jane is a great survivor and a very intelligent women, but I just don't see eye to eye or agree to how she goes about things. Let's take the fight between Kenny and her, she was completely out of line. What if she would have never pulled that trick on Kenny, and never cause the fight. Maybe or even probably she would have gone to Wellington with us, she would have seen the other side of Kenny, she would have seen that he was behaving the way he was temporarily, and see that's not who Kenny was at his core. As Lee said himself "It's hard being yourself when bad things are happening around you".

People say that Kenny revealed he was a real monster once Jane told her AJ was dead, but I disagree with that. I would like to point out once more everything Kenny has lost, his wife, his son, and his new gf, all he lives for at this point for are Clementine and the baby. Again, he's human, EVERYONE has a breaking point, and Jane knew that. What are you proving by lying to a broken and defeated man who's seen almost everyone around him die and then telling him a baby died? Shouldn't you be trying to bring him to a better place and trying to get him to let go of all the inner anger inside him, what are you proving by showing that he gets mad, that an angry filled person gets more angry when you lie to him about a baby dying, I already knew that, instead you should be trying to help him, so he could have gotten better, which he could have proven by Kenny's endings. But no, instead let's lie about one of the most important things to him dying, and then make him look like a monster when he has a normal human reaction especially considering the circumstances, and gets mad. To me, Jane is just as bad in this situation because she purposely gave up on Kenny and tried to break him and then tries to use that as an argument as to why Kenny is crazy. Because of her stupid scenario, we could never see what would have happened if those three got to Wellington.

Also, if you let her live, she says she didn't want it to get that far and that she only wanted to proof to Clem that she should get away from Kenny. If that's the case, why didn't you tell him that when you began to notice that the act was getting too far, and why did you do things like claw at kenny's eyes when he was down. She could have ended the fight, Kenny makes that same points and adds that she obviously WANTED to fight seeing as she could have ended it.

Jane's ending
Personally, my Clementine was very kind and always believed that morality and staying true to yourself should always come first. Jane's ending does not fulfill that for me. If you turn the family away, you can see that Clementine has basically become a Jane 2.0 and that's just not who my Clementine is. Even if you let the family in, when the kid gives Clem a compliment, she seems very cold hearted, that's not how I want to end the series, I rather end it in an emotional meaningful way.

Well anyway, that's my rationale as to why Kenny and his endings are better.

  • This thread needs Flog61.

  • I cried at the Kenny ending on my first playthrough where as I wasn't even near tears in the Jane ending when I replayed.

I can picture him being so excited at the opportunity to finally shoot Kenny he actually messed up, his fingers trembling so much with joy and anticipation that his thumb covered in sweat slipped he and he pressed "look away". In quasi-catatonic shock from disappointment and horror that ensued, his brain went into autopilot and he kept on pressing random buttons through the rest of the game. He ended with the powerful and moving Kenny ending, and is currently at the hospital in intensive care for life-threatening anal haemorrhage.

  • Please, no. D:

  • Ending with Kenny and Wellington is fake as hell. He tried to kill a woman, he'd hurt Clementine. He was unstable man. Everybody noticed it, except his fans. Well, in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king. Killing him was BEST option. Even he agreed.

  • Kenny sucked. I shot him so he wouldn't come back for season 3. lol

I chose to stay with Kenny because:

    • In my play-through, he was only aggressive towards me in times of extreme pain (losing Sarita)
    • I'm familiar with his character, and I feel like he's the closest thing to a family in Clementine's life
    • He always cared about Clementine and AJ (this was shown as you arrive at Wellington)
    • He reacted poorly to Jane because his sole purpose at that point was to raise AJ, even with more love, care and attention than Duck
    • While he may be a flawed person when it comes to decision making, Kenny always has the best interest of the people he cares about when making those decisions
    • Jane has multiple moments that involve her telling Clementine that she regrets coming back, so she isn't a reliable carer
    • In my season one play-through, Kenny risked his life by searching for Clementine in Savannah
    • Jane had the intention of making Kenny start a fight with her, and at no point did she tell him the baby was alive
    • Every safe-haven in TWD has resulted in a power-struggle, followed by conflicting decisions that cause a community to break. I know nothing about Wellington, and the situation could turn out to be like Terminus in TWD TV Series. At this moment in time, it's just Kenny and Clementine raising a child.

Well, the "Jane 2.0" is my ending. But I don't regret turning the family down... Just after everything that just happened, I don't want Clem to go through that again and so I turned them down. Lee would of done the same. Plus, they are protecting a baby and need all the resources they can find. And that guy coulda been dangerous. The way he was acting and all looked hostile.

  • I like to think killing Jane got the last of the evil shit out of him, and he was a healed man from that point on. But it's just my interpretation.

  • Big time. The ending sealed the deal for me

The ending of Wellington, It IS the best ending IMO. It has the most emotion, and Clem actually gets to be safe if you chose to enter Wellington.

    TeamKenny

  • Before this episode the Community was divided between Kenny and Luke. I was neutral. Now it's Kenny and Jane. And i have finally picked a side

The Holy Army of the Godlike Beard

  • I didn't trust her. She says it doesn't feel right to kill the guy in the beginning because it was to save us and not her. She spends the rest of the episode trying to distance Clem from Kenny. It was almost like she wanted a new pet/survival buddy to replace her sister. We all know how that turned out and when she said she wouldn't abandon Clem again I couldn't believe her. When she started acting shady in the rest stop I had to wait and see what she was up to. I'm glad I did. It was a manipulative act of deception Kenny's ending shows us that his heart was still in the right place all along. I've seen Jane's ending and I still can't tell her intentions.

  • Even though i love Kenny, i just couldnt let him kill a living person, who wasnt that bad (keep in mind i still thought the baby died in an accident) so i shot him. I actually think that that was the most "feely" ending possible, maybe not the happiest but (imo) the best one. But when i diacovered about the baby being alive, i felt anger and regret, at any moment Jane could have told him that AJ was alive, but ohhhh no she had to prove her point, She had to make me shoot my best friend, i called her fucking crazy and left her there, no regrets

PS: i have nothing against people going with jane, or not shooting Kenny :)

PPS: did Telltale maybe try to indicate that shooting Kenny was the right choice by making Kenny say that?

  • In my first play through I shot Kenny and stayed with Jane, and I couldn't understand why, but it felt so wrong to me. I mean, I kept asking myself "can I even trust her now?" The ending of every good story should be strong and mine didn't feel like it. So I replayed, and you know what? Leaving Wellington with Kenny felt so good.

  • To Omids Cat

Yes he was an unstable man at the moment, but again it was proven that he was not inside. Jane in the other hand manipulated a situation which would cause him to break on purpose to prove a moot point.

Reported for spoiling that there would be a major choice with one being Kenny

  • Well it's been changed.
