I found a solution to the whole issue regarding the lack of civil discussion. I am making a mod-endorsed megathread where people can discuss the choice there and there only. I'm adding new rules that only apply to that thread, so I'm retroactively locking old threads as well.
There seems to be nothing wrong with this thread as a glance, but I wanted you all to know that I am locking this thread without merging it into the new thread so I can be consistent. I want to purge the forums of the drama while still allowing for discussion of the choice.
