Realistically, he would have been able to get himself out eventually. The ice was far too thin to hold two adults. If they had both cleared the area of walkers, Luke could have pulled himself up. His leg was hurt, yeah, but he could have rolled to his right. Or someone could have at least crawled on their stomach to him, distributing the weight more evenly.
I don't blame Bonnie for trying to help him - she just did not do it correctly and caused him to drown because of her mistake. Luke practically yells at her not to come any closer and tells her that they'll both die if she does.
Luke is one of the few people in the cabin group that I felt actually respected Clem. Bonnie was just trying make herself feel better by using a little girl. Now that I can think about the whole picture. In episode 3 she warmed up to Clem because she thought she could eliminate her guilt over being a useless crack whore and a traitor. She was shown true kindness by Walter and repayed that kindness by getting him killed. Bonnie did not respect Clem.. She didn't respect anyone. She just latched onto whoever would make her feel less useless.
Covering Luke because he begged you to is nice. But I also knew that cracking glass breaks when weight is applied to it. He dies no matter what because Bonnie forces either you or her to go over there ensuring his death. I don't care how you slice it. Luke's death is on Bonnie because if he had time to climb out he would have.
In my game, I tried to cover Luke first, because Luke was practically begging me too, so when I did, I regretted it because Bonnie fell in, … moreso I replayed it and did the other option, help him, which I liked over the cover him in my opinion.
But either way, I still hate Bonnie. She likes to put the blame on someone younger than herself, because she doesn't want to have to deal with the fact that she's the one who got Luke killed, Clementine just so happened to be there, so of course Bonnie blamed it on her. Bonnie needs to learn to not be so childish, and take responsibility. We're not the ones that ran off into the ice that was breaking, that was thin and would break... Especially after Bonnie says Clementine is smaller and she could do it, Bonnie still goes out after him anyway.
I agree, Luke would probably be ashamed, Bonnie blaming his death on an 11 year old girl, who he cares about so much, we all know Clementine didn't get him killed....
He died for the shittiest reasons. Its his destiny to have the cheapest death in the entire game? Guess what ice does when too much weight is on it? Thats right it breaks. Bonnie forces it. If she had even 1 ounce of common sense she'd know what would've happened if she approached Luke. So if you don't go to him she does. Forcing it no matter. What..... Bonnie might as well have shot Luke in the head as far as I'm concerned.
Not trying to be a Bonnie Apologist or anything, but something that has me curious...
Why are you mad at Bonnie, Luke was dead either way, it was his destiny to die in that water. Just accept it and move on.
Completely different situations. I actually thought Sarita's death was my fault at the time. Maybe if I hadn't chopped her arm of we might have been able to get her away from the walkers before dealing with the bite. I DUNNO! Doesn't make Kenny yelling at Clem ok but its a lot more understandable than LITERALLY BEING the reason Luke died and blaming it on Clem.
Kenny blames Clem for Sarita's death and everyone says we should forgive him, Bonnie blames Clem for Luke's death and everyone wants her to die, fuck logic.
He didn't even need saving. If he had time to crawl out of the water and stayed low to avoid breaking more ice he'd have made it. Instead he was too busy begging Bonnie to stay back.
lol @ "Kenny Moment" Is this the new term for "I can't actually excuse their actions so I'll do what I do with Kenny and pretend they did nothing wrong"?
I think it's just the fact that if you cover Luke, that Bonnie get's pissed off with YOU when the ice breaks when she walks on it
To me it was just Bonnie having her Kenny Moment. She cared about him, she is going to vent a little.
I absolutely agree. If Bonnie would've just shut up for like 90 seconds, Luke could've easily focused on swinging his leg out of the freezing water and slowly making his way to where the ice wasn't giving away.

I felt Bonnie was quite OOC and poorly written when you covered Luke. Since she was introduced, TTG have developed her as a compassionate and considerate person... And that completely flew out of the window when she started blaming Clem. I understand that she was full of anguish and regret over Luke's death, but it felt very out of place for me for her to channel it onto Clem the way she did.
Venting on an eleven year old girl.
Clementine never asked for Luke to die, she didn't want it. Clementine has yet to vent either, which shows resilience to that kind of immature behavior.
I do agree though that she is just a little girl. The characters do occasionally say that, but in the most shes treated as an adult and seems to do a lot more risky stuff and heavy lifting compared to some adults. It's one criticism I have about the game.
Yes, I approve of such a thread. Let us bask in the goodness that is Bonnie hate. I already prophesied months ago that she would pull another stunt like this and my hate has never faltered since I met her. I was not fooled by the snake's tongue in ep 3 and 4. It's good to see people have opened their eyes to the light and now walk the path, ride the train or plane of Bonnie hatred. Lawd.

I chose to help luke, and honestly even though i know he dies either way i kinda regrett not choosing a different option.
"Fuck her'
Luke did, that's for sure lol
ba dum tss.
I wonder what Luke would've thought about Bonnie and Mike leaving the group. I think he'd be angry.

Well if it makes you feel better, Bonnie can die in the last episode.

Hurray for putting words in all our mouths!

Bone Fucky.
Wait, that doesn't right lol

Kenny Vented on Clem after Sarita. It's just that Clem was there.
Yeah, and was angry with Kenny too. Even called him out for it.

I think luke would also be ashamed of his "girlfriend" jane.
