So Clementine is getting her own action figure.... :/

Really didn't think Telltale needed to do merchandising. Most of the fans are adults so I have no idea why they're trying to apply to children. The action figure itself isn't much to speak of. I'm hoping this doesn't become a regular thing and maybe they'll cancel the idea and just add the figure to the special edition or something. Looks pretty legit.

  • A LOT of adult buy action figures actually..but I think this idea is really stupid and most of the fans of TTG I've seen are minors so :/

  • What no Lilly?

  • Why isn't "that's badass" a good enough reason for a business to do something every now and again?

Plenty of adults buy action figures. I may get one, though it depends on if they fix the white hands and it also depends on the cost.

It's a win-win for them. If somebody sees the action figure that hasn't heard of the game that's free advertising that I paid them for.

  • Don't see any reason to complain about additional Walking Dead merchandise. Action figures are by NO MEANS only for children and this figure isn't exactly marketed towards them.

  • Telltale shouldn't need to their games are already good enough and they signed with Macfarlene so if you're sad enough to buy one don't expect anything amazing.

  • Sad?

Why would buying badass things make me sad? I bought an 80's TMNT sticker not too long ago. Know why? Because it's badass! That's why! Buying things that are badass makes me happy, not sad.

Also, your mom shouldn't need advertising because she's doing good enough already. :P

Oh bite me! Telltale's The Walking Dead has no monetary value and I assume you bought it. It brings you joy and that's why you bought it. Having a Tellltale's TWD action figure would bring me joy every time I notice it. The logic is the same.

    :P

  • Lmao, why get butthurt over other people's interests? If someone wants to buy an action figure let them. As for the immaturity, I'm fighting fire with fire.

  • The issue isn't whether people want them its if they're necessary or not and its not. The games are already amazing. If Telltale wants to make more money, pointless merchandising with shitty toy companies isn't the way to go.

  • Many people are already interested in this figurine so evidently it is the way to go. When is merchandising necessary? It never is, but it's always nice to have memorabilia related to your favourite franchises. McFarlane's toys aren't exactly of the highest quality but they're cheap and nicely poseable which is an acceptable compromise as far as I'm concerned.

What you are saying is stupid. Action figurs are not just for adults. It is like saying anime is just for kids, but in the end most of it is gorry, violent and for sure not for kids. The age thing is as stupid as it gets. There is not an age in which it is wrong to do something, when it comes to prefernces of course. I bet that pretty much evryone here still watches disney movies, I bet that almost everyone here still eats ice cream and makes a mess on perpose now and then, and I bet that you still don 't get it, cause you can 't see that a kid can be as mature as an adult can be imature, and still be a kid and an adult. And for those who love Clem and are going to buy the figure, it doesn 't mean that they are going to play with it like a Barbie doll. Cause even you can be as mature as you can be imature. But I guess you think you are too cool for this shit anyway.

  • Lots of gaming companies do merchandising. Blizzard, Rockstar North, Namco, Capcom, just off the top of my head.

Telltale's a small enough company that this might have been just a neat idea that somebody wanted to roll with. Merchandising like this doesn't cost a lot up front and "can" roll in a good profit. Even if the product doesn't fly off the shelves it's "still" advertising, and an inexpensive way to go about it.

  • And they break like glass. If they wanted to make legit figures they could have done much better. I just hope it doesn't become a regular thing. Making one in the sake of a collectible is okay but going over the top and having any other characters in the video game series is a set up for failure. If they go over the top and it gets picked up I see a re do of the "E.T 1980's Dump Truck Incident".

If they release a Lilly action figure... if it doesn't cost a whole lot... I might buy it just to shoot it (and maybe post it on youtube).

"FUCKING BITCH! THIS IS WHAT YOU GET FOR KILLING CARLY!"
^Something like that. Then catch it on fire and all that good stuff :)

  • Well, nothing's spiralled out of control yet so why are you complaining about the slight possibility of something happening? All that's happened so far is they've released a neat little Clem model having received requests for one.

  • Like I said I hope this doesn't become a regular thing( and it likely won')t so the action figures or action figure almost certainly won't be sold in stores unless sold with a special edition version of Season 2. So any ideas of individual figurines selling in toy stores you can scrap out right now. You maybe right though Telltale is a smaller company so having a large supply of action figures and merch wouldn't be high on the list of priorities.

  • Well, it has been some time. I forget at times too. But it is such a good story! It has to be unfolded litle by litle, on its own. But don 't worry about it, now the problem is solved. Batman in your services. :}

  • You are actually right. When season 2 episode 5 came out my internet was not working so I had to with my laptot to the cafeteria to get internet. I got almost half the thing spoiled to me by accident. But there were some quite unexpected things to see anyway. But God, it pissed me off.

  • Pretty sure there have been threads on this very forum asking for merch. Pretty sure some of them were about action figures.

Action figures aren't just for kids, either, and adults who collect them aren't all basement dwellers. Broaden your mindset, Jesus Christ.

  • What about drinking breast milk, that okay when I'm 25?
