10. No going back, what a terrible episode, not only the worst thing I've come accross in 2014 but the worst thing I've ever played.. Not only did every fucking minute of it annoy the hell out of me, the opening, horrid, no one died, terrible opening, Jane comes back, heck bonnie mike and arvo, that scene (you'll know what I'm talking about) was so forced. and that moment lee came back had me shouting at the screen, all telltale cared about in this epiosde was fan service... disgusting.
No Time Left [A masterpiece. Still one of the greatest endings to a video game I've ever seen.]
All That Remains [Well paced, excellently written, but most importantly... was extremely engaging from start to finish.]
Long Road Ahead [Awesome, well rounded, and one of gaming's most shocking moments.]
Starved for Help [A bit slow 'till the excellent last act, other than that it's arguably the best paced episode.]
Around Every Corner [It had Molly, which makes up for some of the sloppy segments toward the end of the episode.]
A House Divided [Eh, it was ok I guess. Although quite boring and with every good scene, there was immediately a dumb one to counter-balance it.]
Amid the Ruins [Oh God. I "like" this episode in ways and hate it in others. It had so much potential, but that hardly matters when you have an episode that literally try's to get the player to hate everyone. Although the ending alone gives this episode mad props for creative cliffhangers.]
A New Day [I'll get some hate for this, but I didn't like this slow-paced mess of an episode. Super boring and outstays it's welcome by the time you're halfway through.]
In Harms Way [Well, it had plot-holes as big as Carver's camp and Carver was a terrible villain. Plus, this was the episode that completely reignited my deep seeded hatred for Kenny.]
400 Days [Lame as hell. Boring characters, boring scenes, boring everything really.]
No Going Back [Fuck this episode. Everything... Every. Single. Thing. Was. God. Awful.]

I'm racking my brain for a positive, and I can't really think of anything. I guess the alone ending shot where Clementine is standing on top of the hill with A.J. in her arms, fresh blood coating her and the baby was cool in an exploitation film kind of way. Oh, and killing Kenny was cool, if not for the horrid final conflict the game shits out in an attempt to make the decision "harder."
The goddamn beginning was literally the dumbest thing I've seen in any game for a while now. How do you manage to fuck up a Mexican-style standoff? The thing that is suppose to insight fear and paranoia is written off in this dumb Saving Private Ryan-like "muted noises" pan around from Clementine. Just to see everyone on our side is fine, except Mike getting graze from a shotgun at close range?
The whole A.J. thing was horrible. He is a lazily written plot-device that was suppose to make us feel like a surrogate, responsible for his safety. But all I wanted to do was drop the little brat down a well. Fuck A.J. I don't give a shit.
The episode kept hilariously changing Kenny from being a "lovable father and dedicated man" to complete asshole more intent on beating the snot out of an already unlikable character instead of warming a dying girl that scientifically should've died on the lake. Oh, and the lake thing, ohhhhh shit.
Everyone was unlikable, nothing felt sincere or connected in any way. And that entire Lee thing was dumb anyway cause most-everyone that first played it thought TT were making everything a dream. And was just pathetic fan-service. Look, I love Lee as much as the next guy, but don't fucking soil his memory by including a shoehorned segment in which we are given no context into why he's back in the narrative out of left field.
Starved for Help was SO good! The atmosphere TellTale created for that episode was unreal. The pouring rain, the thunder and lightning, the whirling wind; just the creepiness of it. The characters were great and I loved how the intensity just continued to grow until act 3 and then it reached a whole new level. Seriously a perfect episode.
Loved; Starved for Help, No Time Left, A House Divided.
Liked; Around Every Corner, All That Remains,
Neutral; A New Day, Long Road Ah… moreead, In Harm's Way.
Hated; Amid the Ruins, No Going Back.
I don't really have a number rating for them though.
No Time Left --A+ (sad but great ending, interesting and unexpected final boss, choices came into play, badass walker killing scene.)
Starved For Help --A+ (great ending, if a little boring at times plus the obligatory cannibal characters in a zombie apocalypse story)
Long Road Ahead -- A (heartbreaking, train puzzle kinda boring)
A House Divided -- A- (interesting, great pacing, best episode of season 2, even if the "I thought you were dead" person was completely expected and therefore not very surprising or interesting. Ruined Kenny's "sacrifice" to save Christa or tried to save Ben in season 1; that part isn't emotional anymore. Complete 180 on some once interesting characters' personalities within an extremely short amount of time. Wasted potential for any other character who could've came back especially since Kenny basically had the same arc in s2. I think TTG wanted Kenny to completely lose it eventually, but they were too chickenshit to actually do it because of their pandering to fans.)
All That Remains -- B+ (good first episode of season 2. Ruined Omid's and Christa's characters. Cheap "edgy" Omid's death. Great start to introducing new characters.)
Amid the Ruins -- C (I liked it when I played it, but once I read the issues people had with it. I agreed with them. Sarah's second death was awful and extremely poorly thought out... She was on top of the deck, but when she fell she's somehow under it? Yeah, no, Telltale. Sarah's and Nick's character arcs were stopped too short. A lot of us were expecting some weird walker worship cult based on the title screen. We got let down. Awesome cliffhanger ending.)
A New Day -- C (good introduction to Lee, Clem, and the Motel group, but it becomes very boring in the last half. We knew a lot about Carley, but not nearly enough about Doug to make a well informed choice on who to save.)
Around Every Corner -- C- (We meet the one-episode-wonder Mary Sue character named Molly. The school part was boring and overly long. Very suspenseful and exciting ending.)
No Going Back -- C- (multiple endings are cool. Kenny vs Jane was a disappointment, a lot of us were expecting Kenny vs Luke. Jane was beyond annoying, but a plus is that she can die, for me. Unrealistic beginning... At least two people from our group should've died or they could've killed off Sarah and Nick here at the very least. Lee flashback was nice, but hopefully there won't be one in s3... or at least have the next flashback be about her parents.)
400 Days -- D+ (Didn't matter for season 2 at all except for a few seconds long appearances and intro to Bonnie. This would've been higher up if it actually mattered.)
In Harm's Way -- F- (extremely linear, we meet Molly 2.0, soooooo much wasted potential, boring and cliche villain. For the love of god TTG, don't let who ever wrote this episode write anymore episodes for TWDG!!! Worst episode ever.)
400 Days (Don't count it as an episode but we're introduced to Nate withut him it would be pretty meh)
Around Every Corner
A House Divided (The return of Kenny and the epic introduction of Carver)
A New Day ( Favorite Part Was How The Comic Characters tied in.)
In Harm's Way (Carver turned out to be pretty generic and Kenny had too much screen time)
Starved For Help ( Plain filler didn't feel like this got the story any where despite being well written)
No Going Back ( Sucked and way over rated the first 3 main choices don't matter and last one was it's saving grace)
Amid The Ruins ( This episode fucking sucked. Bad writing, poor character development and stupid choices like if we want to hold a brat or not. I'm insulted that Telltale put out this pathetic piece of shit)
don't let who ever wrote this episode write anymore episodes for TWDG

It's ok though because fans of the series will think it's great no matter what because it's a season finale... Telltale are dickheads, there are so many flaws and inconsistencies with the characters and the story itself one minute going from death to a childish scene about "WHO LIKES LUKE" and "Drinking my first beer" and then straight back to death, clementime living was completely horseshit too, scientifically she should've died in the lake.. But you know it's still getting game of the year awards and put into top 10 lists because people are that stupid, this series did not live up to season 1 AT ALL.. I'd love to see where telltale go next... Maybe they'll ruin other likeable characters in the series.. OH WAIT THEY'RE ALL DEAD but you know, why don't we do what we did with season 1 and edit out Kennys death in the allyway with him screaming, seeing they did that once for a "good story" they might aswell do it again.. who this time?? HMM I KNOW MAYBE... LUKE OR REBECCA! I can feel a great story slipping out of my ass and I can incorperate drama too!!! OMG TELLTALE YOU ARE GENIUS'!!!

1: No Going Back: I liked how it was paced, and the plot was great! I hope that we meet Bonnie and Mike again (I asked to go with them)! The multiple endings were awesome, even though you will never see me not kill Kenny.
2: Amid The Ruins: Yeah, I know the whole Sarah/Nick thing was awful (and it was awful, but that's a discussion for later), but excluding that, everything was well written and paced, and the decisions were brutal.
3: In Harm's Way: While it did start out slow, it got even better towards the end!
4: Long Road Ahead: I loved how Lilly's character was written! Not just in this episode, but the whole season! The scene on the side of the road was also stressful (I still hate you for that, Carley)!
5: Starved For Help: It was slow, I'll admit, and I do mean really slow. However, the ending was enough to win me over! R.I.P. Larry
6: All That Remains: A great introduction to the superior season of The Walking Dead (in my opinion). The intro was dark, and set the tone for what we would be in for. Also, meeting our new friends! (Who died later on :,( ) However, the whole thirty minute "solo" thing for Clementine was awfully written.
7: Around Every Corner: An overall meh episode, but went on for too long! (That's why I prefer Season Two's shorter episodes).
8: 400 Days: While it wasn't the best, it certainly wasn't the worst. Interesting characters, great plot. Plus, we met Bonnie! (My second favorite Season Two character). There was barely any explanation, though.
9: A New Day: I'm sorry, but it was not a good episode in my opinion. Lackluster plot, terrible atmosphere, I was disappointed.
10: No Time Left: I was so disappointed with this episode, that the goodbye scene had no affect on me because I was still shocked by the writing. "Kenny's Ass Phase," been there, done that. "Kenny's 'death,'" while I was happy he "died," why did Ben have to go as well? It was just horrible.
11: A House Divided: This episode... This episode was completely repulsive and unrealistically cliche. There were maybe two moments I liked, teaching Sarah to shoot a gun, and the conversation with Rebecca in the lodge. I actually don't know which of the two made this episode so unlikable to me even more, the writing, or the cliche return of Kenny the Idiot. The decisions were disappointing, I mean, who to sit with? Is this Friday all over again? (Unrelated, but I love Friday).
Anyway, those were my favorites and least favorites, what's yours?

Don't get the deal with Amid the Ruins copping shit. A House Divided was terrible.
I've done these lists before but I think it's time for some revisions since my opinions change a lot
Starved For Help (My top 4 are always going to consistently be my top 4. This one reigns king, because I really can't think of a single negative to this episode for me, other than it being fairly predictable.)
No Going Back (While I do agree that things like the shoot-out were dumb, I really liked the rest of this episode for the most part. To be completely honest, I'm not entirely sure why I like this episode so much, I just sort of do)
No Time Left (What really needs to be said here?)
A House Divided (Introduction of Carver who became one of my favorite antagonists of the franchise, one of the most tonally unique episodes, and an amazingly tense last 20 minutes. A few minor slip-ups here and there, but nothing that really detracted from it overall. Reintroduction of an old friend upped the ante when it came to the game of who to trust; new friends with a possibly murky past, or an old friend with a possibly murky present and future?)
Around Every Corner (I honestly think this episode is underrated, and always has been. It's a bit more action-oriented than the other episodes. The boy in the attic is a great scene, has one of the series' best handled choices (Ben's fate), and sets up nicely for the finale)
All That Remains (I recently went back and replayed both seasons, I've forgotten how good this one actually is. It really sets some great foundation for the season, and it has some great moments. Clementine as the protagonist worked well this episode, as they struck a great balance between her vulnerabilities and strengths. One thing I did somewhat enjoy, were the fact that puzzles still existed for this episode. Moments like the cabin stealth sequence struck that balance between being overly long or otherwise annoying, like LRA's train puzzle, but not so utterly bare-bones that it ended up like the wind turbine, or the trailer park 'puzzle' from Amid)
Long Road Ahead (It's front-loaded with some of the series' greatest moments, but it really starts to lose steam after that. The back half of the episode was rather dull, and I never quite got over the whole train puzzle fiasco)
In Harm's Way (My only real gripe with this episode is that it's where more of the season's inconsistencies started to become apparent. As a stand-alone episode, it's pretty good, but it feels a little disjointed from the previous two episodes)
A New Day (A great intro no doubt, but it wasn't as engaging in comparison to other episodes. And it really entered a lull during the drug store sequence)
400 Days (Despite it being low on the list, I still liked it. Vince and Shel's stories stood out the most for me, and are my personal favorites. It's a great stand-alone story, that's its strength. Unfortunately, that also doubles as its weakness)
Amid The Ruins (This episode is still the weakest of the series for me. That being said, I don't hate it, and it definitely had a few great moments to it, but overall it just didn't stand up that well. As the penultimate episode to the season, it really didn't do the best job of setting up it's finale. It got the job done, but did so rather sloppily, with it becoming pretty obvious they were tying up the loose ends like determinant characters and what such. The way the choices were railroaded also didn't help, the best example being Arvo and the medicine. It feels like they were already developing the finale, so they needed to make that shootout happen regardless, but didn't do the best job at making it fit naturally without feeling overly forced. What I'd personally do: Make it so Arvo's group ends up holding you up for supplies, only for Arvo to recognize you in the midst of it. Depending on your choice, he'll either go along with the robbery if you stole from him, or try to vouch for you and convince his group not to hurt you (to no avail) if you didn't. The situation would ultimately escalate into a shootout regardless, but it'd make more sense, make Arvo more sympathetic as a character, and make his disposition towards the player actually change)

His name is Pierre Shorette, he's been an employee at Telltale for a long time. While he may have written this episode, he also co-wrote No Going Back, had additional writing credits on No Time Left and All That Remains, wrote TWAU's Faith and TFTBL's Zero Sum.
WHYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????1
RIGHT ON!!!

Because it's his opinion.
Translation:
"I hated season 2 so if you liked it...then...then.............you're stupid!"
Nevermind that he wasn't the 'only one' responsible for the episode.
1 - No Time Left (It was short, but it's the most emotional episode of the series)
2 - Around Every Corner (The introduction of molly and that ending man....)
3 - A House Divided (It's one of the best telltale writing IMO, and I feel like my choices really matter)
4- Starved For Help (It's the second most shocking episode and you have to make hard decisions)
5- In Harm's Way (It's the most brutal and shocking episode: Carlos slapping sarah, Kenny killing carver, Carver hiting kenny, etc.)
6- Long Road Ahead (Really sad episode)
7- All That Remains (Good episode, but it has some flaws and it's really short)
8- A New Day (Again, a good introduction, but it's kinda 'slow')
9 - No Going Back (For a final season episode, it's a VERY poorly written IMO, and the only emotional ending is wellington's.
10 - Amid The Ruins (What Can I say about this episode...? I just liked the Jane's development. But the writing is terrible)
Stopped reading after you said Amid The Ruins was "well written and put in place" that whole episode was a mess
It is MY opinion.
Very true I respect that
1: Long Road Ahead
2: A New Day
3: Around Every Corner
4: Starved For Help
5: Amid The Ruins
6: No Time Left
7: No Going Back
8: In Harms Way
9: All That Remains
10: A House Divided
