What if Clementine helped Carver?
In Episode 3, when Clementine is talking to Carver in his office, she could say that she would help him.
Imagine how much different the story could've been if Telltale gave us the chance to side with Carver. It would be scary.

We could become Carver Jr.
And then 20 years later it would be Carver jr vs Alvin jr in an epic battle to death, to see who claims over all and rightfully wins the Golden Juicebox once and for all.
Would buy 10/10
Carver should have asked you to prove your loyalty to him after Kenny shows him the walkie by handing you a gun and telling you to shoot Kenny. the gun has no bullets. You can choose to point the gun at Kenny Carver Troy or drop the gun. Holy crap that would've been great, I'm giving myself goosebumps.
That was super cringe.
ok here's how I see it going down
point the gun at Kenny- Kenny gets a super pissed look on his face and Carver invites you to sleep in a real bed for the night. Jane turns on the outside speakers and you have to leave Howe's with the cabin group just as before except now you don't knock down Carver, he's not there his fate remains unknown, and Kenny never trusts you again.
point the gun at Carver- Carver gives you a good hard smack like the one Sarah got then Kenny gets between you and he gets beaten with the walkie
point the gun at Troy- Troy hits you even harder than Carver, you are knocked out and your hat goes flying off. Kenny doesn't get beaten. The group wakes you up to go turn on the speakers, and Sarita gives you your hat back as Kenny beats Carver to death
drop the gun- Carver tells you that he is very disappointed in you, then proceeds to beat the shit out of Kenny. After Carlos patches Kenny up he will tell you that you made the right choice.
Well, it's not perfect. But it's much better of an ideal than what we got.
I can just imagine the commotion of that whole scene, Luke telling Clem to just walk away, the group saying that she is just a kid, alot of crying.
The pointing the gun at Kenny option seems messed up, but I can see Kenny pissed off, saying sometime like " Is this what lee wanted?" or " I needed you back there?". Yet again, no more matter you do, Kenny will always be mad at you.
Pointing the gun at Carver, I think would be more "Overzealous" than a smack. He'll probably throw her over the wall or beat her like a man, losing some baby teeth.
I think the episode statistics would read: You and 100% of players chose to side with your group
if u would have pointed the gun towards kenny that that would have kinda made sense in e4 .... no matter what kenny would be pissed at u and will yell" u pointed the gun at me bi*ch and now u have axed my girl"
may be its just telltale could not follow their own plot and they were off the tracks from episode 3.... it was fine till e2" the all kenny vs luke thingy"
I don't think Carver would be so angry, I mean he's ready for it the guns not loaded, he's somewhat expecting it, and I totally think Kenny would jump in the middle and that's where Carver is able to get it out of his system.
That sounds good! I imagine if Clem points the gun at Troy, he angrily goes, " What the f..." then points his gun at Clem only to be stopped by Carver, who chuckles.
I think siding with Carver would be higher than expected. 10 - 30%
Considering how you can basically go with the 'Carver' path in Episode 4 when Jane motivates you to abandon Sarah and steal from Arvo, I'm surprised that the players don't get an option to side with Carver earlier when he was still alive.
The writers must have had different ideas with how Clementine should act in between Episode 3 and 4.
Yeah. Maybe in a weird way, Clem was siding with Carver if we stayed to watch Kenny kill him? Carver wanted Clem to watch what happened to him and reminds her about how it makes her the stronger person he envisions.
Sugar, spice, and everything nice.
These were the ingredients chosen,
To create the perfect little girl.
But Professor Carver not-so-accidentally
Added an extra ingredient to the concoction...
Chemical "Evil"!
Thus, the Eviltine was born.
I actually wouldn't mind this, I wanted to see more of Carvers character but that got shot down very fast hahaha!
Better storyline than Kenny V Jane
Carver inviting a little girl to sleep in a real bed sounds off. :P
Bokor pls.
Not really.
I kid. Carver may be an evil piece of crap, but somehow I don't think that makes him a pedophile.
Personally, I wish Carver spent more time trying to appeal to Clem's sympathy rather than feed her some bullshit about being 'strong'. For example, what if he took her on a tour of the store and showed just how dire life was for his people? Seeing sickly people in the medical wards, or victims of zombie/bandit attacks, may have endeared her to his plight a little more.
But instead, we end up having him be a one-dimensional bully who is actually pretty shit at security.
Like you said, I feel like we missed really interesting opportunity to see Carver convincing Clementine with something more than words.
It looks like a stronger bond was supposed to be created, but they cut it off.
100% of players decided to join the group without the guns, and the dude with the badass voice?
I think not.
Seems like that scene was actually given to Sarah, off-screen.
I really wish there were consequences to his conversation with Sarah. What exactly did he say to her after killing another guy right in front of her?
I remeber how everyone was saying it's "You'll be next, darling" or something like that, but I doubt it. Carver needed Sarah to have control over Carlos.
I will clap my hands very hard. I will clap them so hard tell'll bleed uncontrollable. Finally, I can make my Clem become a morally gray villain/anti-hero.
I know I have problems.... But it would be cool in terms of freedom of choice! : D
If this was the case, then it would work better if there were two episodes that focused on Howe's (or at least our time at Howe's is hella extended), and Clem's time with that group. I think to do this would require two hordes; the first one, while big, isn't significant enough to get thru the walls, but then, about a month later, another horde 3x as big comes along that forces evacuation. A metaphor (other than everyone dying) to show that nowhere is truly safe.
As someone above said, the turning point could be when Carver finds out about Luke, and the walkie-talkies, or it could be us/Clem who divulges about the plan to Carver beforehand; and when he asks why we/Clem, we could respond something along the lines of "To do so is suicide". We could do stuff like scouting missions with Carver, and a few 400 Days characters. Maybe Troy gets Jane out of the pen, and then that gives us a chance to create the bond between Clem and Jane over a period of a few missions; that would give credibility to why Jane would start caring so much about Clem's safety and opinion, when otherwise she wouldn't. Clem would likely be with Carver at all times, as his protege, learning how to better survive and fight from him. During that time he could open up about his past, which is likely tragic, and how he blames his "weakness" for allowing what happened to happen. He would also explain how it was his new found "strength" and leadership that has created the stability they now live in, and that to disrupt it would result in the destruction of all they've worked for and the deaths of everyone under his care. If we bring up Alvin and Walter, Carver says it's an "eye for an eye" thing; Alvin killed George (who could be discovered to have been Carver's best friend, or brother), so he was tortured and then killed, and that Kenny killed Johnny, so, in the moment, Walter's life was taken as compensation. When Reggie is brought up, he admits that that was a moment of frustration, of weakness; he doesn't apologize, because that doesn't change what has already happened, and that one can't wallow in the past (even tho that would be hypocritical, as we find out that he still remembers what happened to his family, how he feel it's still his fault, how he keeps him up at night, and how it drives him to remain "strong" and to make sure his "family" in Rebecca, and what he thinks is his child, alive and safe at his side). That, and his actions, could paint Carver as a very harsh/cruel, and strict, leader, but one who does put stock in the lives of those in his care.
It's been about a month, and supplies are running low, and the bigger horde is coming....so Carver is contemplating "thinning out the herd", but he's only confided this to Troy, Tavia, and later you/Clem during a teaching session; only the most useful, and those he trusts, being allowed to come with him/live. During our stay, we/Clem have the option to get/gotten close to Jane, Becca, Shel, Russell, Bonnie and/or Vincent (I give no fucks about Wyatt). Bonnie, Shel and Russell have gotten more, and more, wary of Carver, while Vincent and Becca have grown to agree with Carver's methods, and Jane doesn't so much care, but as long as she has food and shelter, she gives no fucks. However, she later brings up the matter again, but says that she trusts Clem over everyone else, and she's down with whatever she wants. When presented by a way out by Bonnie, and Shel (via the much bigger, 2nd horde), you have the option of helping them out, staying out of it, or trying to alert Carver. If you decide to help out, you/Clem uses her assignment of keeping watch to sneak into Carver's office from the roof. If you stay out of it, Clem goes about her watch, while Shel tries to sneak in from inside the building, however, because of how she snuck in she's noticed by Carver who kills her (bullet to the head) after she manages to turn on the PA system. If you try to alert Carver, Bonnie knocks you out after a short struggle, and Shel still dies the same; you awake to the situation that occurs after the PA system is activated.
If the latter two decisions were made, you come to a scene where all of the non-Carver trustees are lined up, with their hand tied, and Carver appears before everyone with Shel's corpse, which surprises the fuck outta Becca, who cries at her sister's corpse. Carver explains that it was him that killed Shel for her betrayal, but not before she told him about her conspirators. He then goes on to explain how disappointed and angry he is that they decided to betray him, and how it was him, and his crew, that gifted them food, protection and shelter. He turns to kneels before Carlos and Luke: "I could've killed you all, your previous betrayal cost the life of one of my most trusted men, and put my child's life at risk, but I didn't. Instead, I allowed you back into the fold. Gave you protection, food, and shelter. Yes, I made you work, but who protected you as you slept? Me, and my men, did. Who did regular scouting missions to keep perimeter safe from attackers, and walkers? We did. Who provided a constant supply of water for you? We did. And this...this is how you repay me?"
Carver kneels before Kenny, who is seething: Kenneth, Kenneth...are you snarling at me? grabs Kenny's throat I could've killed you as well. I don't even know you, and your woman. Kenny screams that he killed Walter, in anger And you killed Johnny, after I asked you to surrender. You're lucky I'm not as cruel as you like to think I am. After your failed "escape attempt" I could've given Sarita over here to my men, to teach you a lesson in respect; something you clearly lack. Kenny spits in Carver's face, and smirks, before having his nose smashed via a knee to the face You're like a wild dog, Kenneth, but at least a wild dog knows when he's outmatched."
Wyatt (still a member of the pen) panics and screams out about the horde that's coming closer, and closer. Carver gives him a glance, before before motioning to a few others to start backing the delivery trucks (there's two) with supplies, another group (minus Tavia, Vincent, and Jane) to the roof to stand watch, and Troy to Wyatt's position. Carver then explains his plan to abandon the department store, in light of the giant horde approaching. Sarita then expresses how the two trucks can't possibly fit them all. Carver smirks, before signalling Troy...who then shots Wyatt in the head, to her shock. Carver says that before he held some regret over what he was going to do, but their betrayal now made the job much, much easier. He then motions Troy to execute a few more no names (random NPCs gathered during the month-long period) down the line. Some of Carver's own men (the newest bunch to Carver's crew) start to protest, but he suddenly shoots them all; claiming that he wasn't planning on bringing them anyway. You notice that Vincent and Jane have gradually become more, and more worried about the situation, and that Carver suddenly shooting 3 of his men just got them mentally questioning whether, or not, they were next. Now the only ones left, besides those tied and lined up, are Carver, Troy, Tavia, Vincent, Jane, Rebecca, Becca and Clem. Now it's Sarita's turn. Kenny screams hell at Carver and Troy, and screams at us/Clem too; asking how she could let Carver do this to them. Now there's a choice, you can choose to try to stop Troy (only to have Tavia stop you, and Carver tells her to keep you from doing anything (he clearly now has a soft spot for us/Clem, or he'd he have her lined up like Sarah)) or choose to do nothing (which causes Carver at Clem with admiration, "Unlike you Kenneth, she's intelligent and understands the situation, and why this must be done. She doesn't stink of weakness, and incompetence, like the rest of you lot here", which causes Kenny to curse out Carver AND Clem). Before Troy can shoot the Sarita, Carver is shot in the shoulder by grief stricken, and enraged, Becca (who seemed to have been forgotten); "Take that you fucker!!!". If you went along with the plan, you've been hiding and watching from the above shipping containers the whole time, just barely making it down before Troy can shoot Sarita, and Clem shoots Carver in the shoulder (also, Shel doesn't die). Vincent and Jane take that chance to start shooting at Tavia and Troy, who both take cover. You now have the choice to either go to help Carver or got cut free the others. If you go try to help Carver, Becca tackles you to the ground, if not Becca helps you the others free. Walkers start to get into the store. Chaos breaks lose; you also hear gunfire from those on the roof. If you tried to help Carver, Becca tells you that you need to help her free the others to help take care of the walkers that got in. After you free Kenny, he rushes at Carver, and a fight ensues. Carver is beating the shit out of Kenny, and you can either watch or shoot Carver in the side; if you don't shoot Becca does. The walkers that got in are taken care of (tho the last of the no-name NPCs got killed), and Vincent and Jane managed to kill Troy and Tavia.
Kenny is now standing over Carver, who is now defeated and bleeding out on the ground. Sarita and Carlos begin to panic over how they're meant to escape the horde, as the crowd is too big to drive thru. Jane contemplates for a few seconds before telling them how to do it, but to hurry. Kenny goes for a fallen crowbar, as Sarita calls to him, but he tells her to go on ahead. If you tried to help her out, or went along with the plan, Sarita attempts to usher Clem away, but if you did neither, she merely shakes her head disappointed at Clem. Either way, you can stay and watch Kenny beat Carver to death with Becca and Rebecca. If you were at his side the whole time, Carver tells Clem to become stronger than he was and survive. If you attempted to stop Troy, he tells Clem not to let them drag her down. If you were part of the plan, Carver muses that he was still weak; so weak that he allowed himself to look for a new child, family and protege, in Clem and blinded himself to what she really was, but admits that she is stronger than him, and the weak become sustenance to the strong (sustenance meaning everything he taught her, and that he let her into the fold).
Afterwards, everyone escapes from the store...tho Carlos still dies, the shit with Sarita still happens and Jane still saves you and Rebecca (which now makes sense). However, since you were part of Carver's crew, nobody but Vincent and Jane trusts Clem; you gotta work to get back on people's good side (the Sarita stuff makes your relationship with Kenny REALLY bad). If you never betrayed the group a month ago, then it plays out like it does now (in real life).
Like Clem, if you wait too long to jump on Carvers back.
That was good thank you XD
Carventine
duuuuuuuuuuuuude
I read it as "Carver invites you to sleep his his bed"
The drink of water I have in my mouth is now in tact with my computer screen.
Using her evil super powers, Clementine has dedicated her life to fighting good and the forces of humanity!
DOO DOO, DOO DOO DOO DOOOOOOOOOOO DOO
It's a better storyline than Twilight.
