When the writing goes against what it's known for in the series just to push a single occurrence and makes the occurrence an obviously forced attempt to gain ground (whether it be in shock, love, what have you) it's actually a rather important topic to include. It doesn't change the character or their actions, it just marks it as inefficient in terms of effect and believability.
I can't be bothered to hate him because of how random, inexplicable and forced his shooting of Clem is. I think the devs were trying to 'punish' the player by making a (sym)pathetic character be utterly ingrateful to the player despite whatever empathy they feel for him, but I refuse to hate him because it only convinces players that the bigoted violent redneck is always right.
The unfortunate truth is Arvo shot a young girl. And in some cases, for no other reason because he could.
Now, whether by the writers' em… moreission to sloppily push Kenny on "good" terms to some people to force the lazy final conflict being a tougher choice or just because Arvo was written to be a snake in the grass is completely irrelevant. Either way, Arvo is still scum.
Can I find it my heart to forgive him? Absolutely not, he's a dead man walking...
Well, most people here know that I absolutely detest Kenny anyway. But, judging purely the actions of a character, its obvious to me Arvo is a piece of shit. Whether by the writers fault or otherwise. The actions they wrote for Arvo makes me hate him.
Same thing goes for Kenny, Troy, Bonnie, Mike, Carver, and Michelle.

How 'realistic'.
I'd rather like when they put Arvo in, at least for me. What Carver said really rubbed off on me, and given the trending of the choices, I find myself more and more associating with Carver. When met with Arvo, some random kid who may be like Clementine and have a legitimate reason, I didn't hesitate as much for depriving him of the meds for my people.
I do find myself prioritizing the good of my group more and more than the greater good as season 2 trends along.
I thought Arvo was the one good thing about Amid the Ruins, they seemed like they were setting his character up to have more of a backstory … moreand give us a chance to have Clementine bond with him or whatever and then they threw that away like they did with plenty of other characters this season.
Well, I guess it just depends on everyone's personal experiences and the topics/threads they look at it. Some people see a lot of Kenny hate, some don't. I tend to see a lot of pro-Kenny posts though.
I see lots of Pro-Kenny on Youtube. Here though, after his outburst at Clem for Sarita seemed to piss a lot of people off. Which is understandable. But I've had a family member die, so I completely understood where he was coming from, same for Bonnie.

Well, I kinda wrote a giant post explaining exactly why up there, and I covered points 1, 3, and 4 on your list, so perhaps you'll find the answers to your questions if you...read the post. .3.
OMG who like Arvo?
* He want to rob you
* he shoot you
* even if you don't take his bag, he want to rob you with his russian frie… morends
* he is asshole and liar
So why you want to defend him? he do something good to your character or others? NO
I wasn't too happy with either of them for what they said to Clementine, she's just a kid who was doing her best and what she thought was right in both of the situations. But at the same time, I don't hate them for acting that way, I just wish they had found better ways to express their grief/anger instead of taking it out on someone who didn't really deserve it.
I see a lot more people blaming Bonnie for doing essentially the same thing Kenny did an episode earlier. Probably because if Clementine doesn't go onto the ice, Bonnie does and that gets Luke killed so it is her fault so maybe that's why more people hate on her in comparison to Kenny.

I think the reason people blame Bonnie more is because it is pretty stupid with what she did. The ice cracks because there's too much weight, so what in the hell is going over to the thin cracking ice adding more weight gonna do? She was too over flowed with emotion worry that Luke was gonna die.

After replaying Episode 5 I understand him slightly better. I can't say everything he did was justified but putting my self in his shoes I can get a grip. Having an injury, being bullied by the other men in your group, being robbed and over powered by two women, losing your sister and getting slapped around for good measure isn't fun still I have to say his reaction was extreme. None the less I retract my earlier statement on him
Fair enough, I'm not expecting anyone to like him or forgive him, but when people say he's a stone cold sociopath who orchestrated every bad thing that happened to Clem's group, I don't agree with that and I think there's another, more sympathetic way to interpret the rest of Arvo's actions. As for shooting Clementine, I understand if people want to hate him over that, but I don't for reasons mentioned earlier. .3.
Arvo is a snake, and I honestly cannot wait until we meet paths again. Arvo is living on borrowed time, he can run, but he can't hide. I'll make that bastard wish he would have died after the shoot out.
Comments
I liked when he said " Everything come out ok girls."
He loved Dogs. Nobody is all bad.
He was also a pretty good painter.
3/10, would not let into art school.
Actually not too bad. He also served his country at one point.
I supported him until he shot my Clementine.

Nice effort.

Thank you, I knew it wouldn't change minds but I wrote the damn thing anyway.

Kenny defense thread?
No? Never mind then.... Runs away
Like, 90% of twdg section of the forum is just one giant Kenny defense.
Well, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration...Or not.
I've seem more Kenny hate recently. Plus, the only time where I see people defend his actions is when he killed Larry.

Wow he was talented, its a shame.

Interesting post but he's still an asshole.
