He never intentionally hurt anyone. He was sick to the point of delusion. He was convinced the world was filled with dark and disturbing things. He thought Clementine was the only innocent thing left in the world.
He manipulated Clementine to go to him then locked her in a room while planning to kill Lee because he knew Lee would come for her. I agree with Trublez Kenny lost his wife and son within the same 10 minutes.. Lee was in the store that his parents were in and saw the bed they died in, then later he had to axe his brother in the head. Everyone has lost people Clementine, Lee, Kenny and if they did what the stranger did, manipulated a little girl into thinking you have her parents and she has hope for something then just locking her away, then I would look at him no differently than I did to the stranger, I love Kenny to death but if he was to do something like that then my feelings wouldn't play favorites with characters if they did something like that..

Yes he lied to her but it was because he didn't want her being consumed by the darkness of the ZA. He wanted someone happy to stop him from being depressed.

None of this 'no' bullshit that's too weak
FUCK NO, I don't feel bad for him in any way shape or form, he manipulated Clem, lied to her t… morehen tied her up in a fucking room.. Lee found out she was gone and got fucking bit because of it, Kenny supposedly died from it which made my heart drop. Then he had the audacity to ask if he could look after Clementine after he lost his son hunting, and lost his wifes and daughters trust which led to their deaths and he expects me to say "yeah you can look after Clem while I just slowly turn into a walker..?" NO, and WHEN you say no he says, "think about it Lee." Yes let me think about you, a person who kidnapped a 9 year old and then points a gun at her father figure and says 'let me take care of her.' This crazy fuck thinks that me leaving a 9 year old home alone with a sick person only days after teaching her how to shoot with no traingin between those days is better than coming with her father figure… [view original content]
Exactly! He wanted someone happy to get out of his depression over losing his wife and children which were HIS fault, so he lied to Clementine knowing that she was really looking forward to seeing her parents so she would be in a good mood, and he used her, He tried to get the happy vibe from Clementine into himself which he fucked up at obviously.. Fair enough he didn't want Clementine to get overrun by the darkness in the ZA so he tried to take care of her... Obviously didn't work she would have been better off with Vernon

I agree I'll do a Vernon defense thread later. This isn't a debate on whether he would be good to take care of Clementine. Its about trying to sympathize instead of judging him

Let's be sensitive.. Lee lost his family, Clem lost her's too. Everyone they met lost someone or was lost. Neither of them went out of their way to harm anyone because of their grief.
Even if Lee and Clem vote not to take the supplies from the car, the stranger still, manipulates Clem, lies to her and travels to Savannah with the intention of kidnapping Clem and killing Lee even though he know's Lee didn't take the supplies.
That would be like being sensitive to the St. John's.. Awwww that poor family, they were just hungry so we'll forgive them for cutting off Mark's leg's and feeding him to us.. We'll forgive them for locking us in a meat locker to use as food. Because they've had such sad stories we shouldn't be insensitive. Fuck sensitivity. That'll just get you killed or eaten in a ZA.
and by him "not wanting her to be consumed by the darkness of the ZA" what he did managed to kill Lee, Clementines father figure then just before Lees death she sees her parents dead so with him wanting her not becoming consumed by the darkness it kind of fucked up.

I know it's not a debate that's why I just briefly mentioned it not like " The stranger was up to no standard of Vernon blah blah blah" because no one wants to see that. I get that you want to try and sympathize with him but really.. Why?
I agree I'll do a Vernon defense thread later. This isn't a debate on whether he would be good to take care of Clementine. Its about trying to sympathize instead of judging him
He thought Lee was bad. And depending on some of the things he can do he can be looked at as such. Needless to say his POV and mindset was greatly distorted and delusional but he was doing in his mind what he thought was right which is more than I can say for Crawford, The St. Johns and The Bandits

Alright I get that, he thought Lee was in the wrong by taking the word of a 8/9 year old and she was only probably saying about things that she didn't like A.K.A Crawford or maybe killing The St.Johns. Look I'm not dissing Clementine because I love her a lot more than other people do but if she has been safe for over 3 months but only saying bad things to the stranger, don't you think that there was some good things in there, like Lee finding Clems hat feeding Clementine when he had the rations, teaching her how to shoot! But not he focused on the bad things to try and redeem himself and it failed miserably, he tried to do what was right at the time but fucked it up.
This reminds me of the whole Kenny smashing Larrys brains scenario Kenny did whaty he thought was right at the time, protecting his group before something worse happened and he was in the wrong, but at the time he was in the right, I hate the stranger with passion so much passion, But I do understand what he was trying to do, still doesn't make it right though

I'd really rather not drag Kenny into this, but I'll bite: Some people feel more sympathy for Kenny because his wife and son died right in front of him, and then Sarita too. I know, I know, he's not the only one (just as many people feel bad for Lily), but I guess it's because of his struggle to keep going on living, which starts to crumble in season 2.
Anyway, back on topic. The stranger doesn't get any sympathy from me because he manipulated a little girl in order to fulfill his own twisted desires. Even if you tell him about Lee's bite and ask him to make sure he doesn't turn, he cruelly refuses because he wants Lee to suffer. Arguably, it is Kenny's fault that he was driven insane, but I just can't find it in myself to waste kindness on someone so sadistic, crazy or not.

Why would i, care about the Stranger. I don't understand why I would care about a stranger.
I don't know him, however he proceeds to blame me for his life problems. He loses his mind and cuts his wife head off, and puts it in a bag. You want me to feel bad for this guy? I don't have any tears for him, what do you seriously want me to say to that.
OK
Great
Congratulations, Dude. Blame me if it makes you feel better. Put all your inactions, and failures on me, so you can live with yourself. I don't care anymore.
I know i played a pretty cheap card there but it was the only example I could think of where someone had lost there family right in front of them and had continue to live and not do stupid shit like the stranger did
In fact, I'm ashamed to admit I shot him down dead with my TMP on several occassions. The constant "what are ya buying?" & "hah hah, thank you" wore on my nerves after several hours of gaming I'm afraid to say. Other than that he seemed like an okay guy.
To be serious, I did feel bad for the stranger in that last episode. I understood he'd lost his family and finding them the way that he did probably just made him lose it and why he kept his wife's head in a bag. I think he saw Clementine as a means to make amends for not being able to protect his family, and to have a new start with her being his daughter. Even though he was way out of line, I didn't behave hostile towards him in the motel during the talking parts. I actually remember that moment you got the option to choke him, I stopped because I didn't want to kill him. Although looking back, I do think the guy was too far gone, and I'm not sure any words would've convinced him to willingly give Clementine back.
Not really. Bad shit happens. Clem lived and stayed warm because I took the stuff in the car. She's who I cared about. Not the stranger and his family. I choked him until his eyes bulged and then choked him some more.

Yes, hun, I was paying attention. I'm not seeing how this is supposed to make me feel sorry for him. Everyone's lost people, so the stranger's little "woe is me" story had no effect on me. We're talking about the same guy who took his dead wife's head, put it in a bag and carried it around talking to it.
His sick mind indirectly caused the deaths of both Lee and Ben. Like I said, he gets no sympathy from me.
He kidnapped and manipulated a 9yr old, and got Ben killed, along with Lee. He also got Kenny separated from the group.
Why the fuck would I feel sorry for him?
The Stranger to become who he was in the first place
If you believe his crazy ass story. Personally i believe he never had a son, he got angry with his wife she was going to run off without him, so he killed her and cut her head off, and placed it on that bag.

I doin't think Kenny did it that way and he literally watched Katjaa commit suicide and determinately shot his son in the face....
Fucken ae this ^^^ right here is my point exactly.!

They must have forgotten that it was Kenny's family that caused The Stranger to become who he was in the first place
I think its apt since the justification for Kenny's behavior is almost always, "well, he lost his family".
You're right, people typically go for this excuse. But I don't think it's a fair one, personally.
Why would i, care about the Stranger. I don't understand why I would care about a stranger.

He was dealing with it, but in a bad way
Everyone has different ways of dealing with stuff
Not particularly no.
In fact, I'm ashamed to admit I shot him down dead with my TMP on several occassions. The constant "what are ya buying?" & "hah hah, thank you" wore on my nerves after several hours of gaming I'm afraid to say. Other than that he seemed like an okay guy.

Um don't know if you were paying attention but Th Stranger's son went missing. The next day he found hi family road kill.
We got a badass over here.
...then again, I also screwed over the guy too. He may be pitiful, but nobody kidnaps Clem and lives.
He kidnapped and manipulated a 9yr old, and got Ben killed, along with Lee. He also got Kenny separated from the group.
Why the fuck would I feel sorry for him?
It didn't feel at all odd how Clementine was nice and positive even in the shit of a bad situation?

Yeah, but I didn't take from him.
If you believe his crazy ass story. Personally i believe he never had a son, he got angry with his wife she was going to run off without him, so he killed her and cut her head off, and placed it on that bag.
That doesn't mean our group didn't take everything from them.
Who leaves their front door open when living in the Ghetto?
WHo?
well aparently no one since it was a car.
No it wasn't.
Well the car boot was open atleast.
