And that's fine if you do, I have no problem if you do like Amid the Ruins, it's all a matter of opinion. I mean, I like In Harms Way and that episode gets more shit than Amid the Ruins.
Well not everyone is willing enough to make a list, I've seen so much more hate for Amid The Ruins that one couldn't even possibly compare the amount of hate it gets to the amount In Harm's Way gets.

No I was not, but I can imagine, for both episodes when they were released, it was really negative. I only really started visiting the forums after No Going Back was released and I finally decided to make an account in October.
Yeah, In Harm's Way got a lot of hate much like any season 2 episode that was released, but none got as much as Amid The Ruins did I can tell you that.

True, hence why telltale games are as good as they are. Choices are different with everyone. Gives you your own opinion at the game.
Is there any episodes that were less enjoyable for you besides Amid the Ruins? Season 1 and 2, or was Amid the Ruins your least favourite?
Agreed, we each have a different perspective and reasoning for liking or hating certain episodes, what one may hate, another loves. It all comes down to how one interprets a certain situation.
To be honest all that remains got the most post ep hate I've seen, Kenny fanboys were pissed Kenny wasnt in the episode about the only thing they liked was the end of the ep 2 teaser.
After that it was In harms way and Amid the ruins about equal on hate and like
A house divided and No going back were well received by most

In terms of writing, Amid the Ruins is the worst. But my least favorite episode would have to be Long Road Ahead. The writing is fine, especially concerning Lee and Clem, but the episode, despite it's strong start, begins to drag on. The whole train thing was a momentum stopper, as was the truck, and it made the episode overly long. To this day, even though I know exctly how to get the train working, I hate that whole sequence.

I've seen a lot of hate for No Going Back recently, but this all just goes to show that every episode has its pros and cons and that you can't please everybody. All That Remains is a great episode, a bit slow, but everytime I play that episode, I like and appreciate it even more.

Yeah it's kind of a mixed episode. You go from shock deaths. Fighting with bandits, to being stationary and doing nothing. Seemed more for characters being killed off quickly.
It's weird because normally you see people say A New Day was the worst or Around Every Corner because it was "filler" "too long" Episode.
Nice breath of air.

I think the idea of defending and bashing things is obselete there are some people who genuinely believe that Amid The Ruins was good (A marginal few I'm sure) and those who defend stuff just because Telltale made it which is their right but its fruitless to argue with them. To them Telltale could push out a dump and praise it. Its not just Telltale fans either its a lot of other fan bases (Rockstar, Bethesda, Activision etc)
just because Telltale made it which is their right but its fruitless to argue with them. To them Telltale could push out a dump and praise it.
So you're basically saying because you think it was shit, anyone who thinks it's good is basically full of it and is just praising Telltale for no reason? Please.

I love A New Day, it's a great start to this series and is in my personal Top 5. Around Every Corner was good in terms of writing, but I don't like it either because it's filler.

Ugh not this guy again >.>. I hate it when people deliberately twist words to start an argument. I wasn't referring to ATR when I said if Telltale put out a piece of shit it was hypothetical. Please stop trying to create controversy you have done this multiple times in my threads and posts and seem to target me intentionally

I definitely agree on stealing the supplies, even though it didn't matter, it was one of the hardest decisions I made in Season 2. I wanted to steal them because Rebecca might need them, but then I remembered that little girl from Season 1 that was against stealing the supplies from the car and I realized I couldn't have Clem steal from Arvo.
Save Sarah option was pointless in both scenarios she dies in an equally shitty way. Shooting Rebecca was a split second decision that was never brought up and she gets shot no matter what oh and the stealing of the medical supplies or not started the Arvo Conundrum. Choices, huh.
WRONG

Lol, you expect me not to reply to you when you constantly bash something I like? With the amount of times you've bashed Amid The Ruins and season 2 in general I think it's safe to say you're the real troll here. Also, I thought you were done?
But you said "If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen" I smell a hypocrisy and countless others have bashed Season 2 and even more have bashed Amid The Ruins some of which are on this very thread yet you just want to start a problem with me so that isn't it. If you don't agree with what I say say it don't turn it into a constant childish debate or don't comment and yup I've just about had it just wanted to get the point across.

That means, if you love to bash season 2, don't be surprised when I reply to you about it.
Also, I usually reply to you cause you're usually the one that brings everything to a whole new level, people have said their piece, but you seem to find a way to say it every day with a new thread or post, constantly bashing and bashing. As I've said before, we get it you don't like season 2 there's no need for you to have to bash it everywhere you go.

Fair enough I admit my insults about Season 2 has been at times over the top but its only because I wish for Telltale to do better than S2 or S1 not to troll or diss Telltale so they see where their flaws were and to improve them not because I hate them. I apologize if I've offended you

Again you're not offending me, it's just when something I like is being bashed on, I'm going to be more inclined to reply. Thanks though for being understanding, not many people on this forum know how to actually do that.

I'm saying this all from a first time play-through perspective if you took two seconds to read my post. As much as I would like to know the future, I do not. So at the time I thought anything could be important.
Save Sarah option was pointless in both scenarios she dies in an equally shitty way. Shooting Rebecca was a split second decision that was n… moreever brought up and she gets shot no matter what oh and the stealing of the medical supplies or not started the Arvo Conundrum. Choices, huh.
Nick's and Sarah's death is the only thing i could agree with you... but ever since the bring back kenny simple the cabin were simply butchered and toss it away :'/
The episode was okay in my opinion, there's just three things I didn't like.
* Sarah's death.
Instead of trying to help her out of … moreher dark time and teaching her how to survive, they just had to go and make her determinate.
* Nick's death.
Telltale, you know you fucked up when even people who disliked Nick thought his death was shit.
* Luke fucking Jane.
For obvious fangirl reasons.
I'm saying this all from a first time play-through perspective if you took two seconds to read my post. As much as I would like to know the future, I do not. So at the time I thought anything could be important.
I don't know. I liked it. At least it had hubs for fucking once, and actual variation in some of your choichs vs episodes like In Harms Ways. (Although they didn't matter in the end.) The only thing I hated was Nicks' "death" and Sarah's second death scene. Oh and of course that plot baby AJ.
To this very day, I still believe that if Nick or Sarah would haved lived, the episode wouldn't gotten all the crap it had.
Anyway a first time play wouldn't be looking at it as a whole.
That is my point. First time play-through, in the moment, you won't know what is an important choice that'll have an immediate consequence or later or perhaps none at all. Looking at it as a whole would only be after your done the play-through of the episode and realizing the consequences of the choices you made. What is a hard choice if you don't know the consequences from it the first time around in the heat of the moment?

I give you props for enjoying the most hated episode of the entire series. I liked aspects of the episode, the pacing was a bit off toward the ending. But the pacing is important, because I found the pace of Amid The Ruins to be one of the most focused and centered of the series since All That Remains. It wasn't impeccable or anything, but there was a clear goal to the episode. "Gather the group together and help Rebecca with her birth."
For good or bad, I also found Amid the Ruins had an almost soothing allure to it. Simple and precise, yet it also made me ponder quite a bit more than the two previous episodes. Is leaving someone who wants to die reflective on your conscious? Is it okay to thief, if the end goal is to help someone else even if you're potentially stealing from someone who is also on hard times? Are people worth saving? Are you worth saving? I mean, even if the situations some of the questions are presented are a bit sloppy. I found myself actually taking stances on moral conflicts rather than just being a passive participant for the group's shit.

That's not true :P
It kind of is. I've seen more lists with IHW at the bottom thaan ATR.
Well not everyone is willing enough to make a list, I've seen so much more hate for Amid The Ruins that one couldn't even possibly compare the amount of hate it gets to the amount In Harm's Way gets.
Than I've been online at the wrong times.
Probably, plus I can see you weren't here when the episode released. which means you probably didn't see all of that, unless you lurked of course :P

Amid The Ruins beat me up and stole my wallet
It used my bank account to make fraudulent purchases too
Then it made lewd comments about my mother
