Am I giving this potential safe spot too much credit?

In my recent posts, I've been praising Howe's Hardware, much like Rick with the prison.

A vast area, already fortified. Lots of space for newcomers and supplies. Plus, from walkthroughs, I could see two other buildings not connected to Howe's that could be put to use (one I think was a laundry mat. Solar panels and a green house. I said it before and I'll say it again, it would be a shame to let it go to waste.

Just wanted to get this out. Any other places in the game that would make a good settlement for survivors? (For real if you please)

  • This might be a weird choice, but for me I feel that the Motor Inn could have really been fortified over time and built into a large-ish scale place. Considering the fence and makeshift gate they had, they could have slowly built a larger and more effective gate and wall over time. Also, it's very useful because it has two floors of many rooms, so potential survivors could separate themselves, and many people could occupy each room (estimating 2-3 people staying in a total of about 20 rooms max). So, with all the rooms that could have been slept in, and the opportunity to build a larger and larger wall and gate, as long as they boarded up all the windows and stayed safe and quiet, they could have built a small community of about 25-35 people, possibly. That may seem like a bit of a stretch, but I believe it would've been cool.

  • Yeah, I wish we could have stayed at the Motor Inn, it would have been cool to see it evolve from a simple safe area, to a massive community.

  • Yeah, possibly slowly build to neighboring buildings possibly too.

  • Safe spots are nice, but those have tendency to eventually get overrun. Either by walkers or by other survivors. Things didn't end up well in the prison and Howe's has been already overrun once.

Wellington is the most fortified location we have seen so far, but I think that the community already has plenty of potential problems as it is overcrowded.

  • the school at Crawford if only they had bigger groups.. but ehh too bad it's hard , you know people that you can trust...
