My problem with Troy
Am I the only one bothered by how distractingly one dimensional Troy is? In a series with complex, emotionally diverse characters, Troy has a seriously shallow personality. He's just a mean, stupid jerk. Cartoonishly mean and stupid. When I first played S2, I honestly thought his stupidity was so obtuse he would make some kind of heel-face turn and turn out to be faking it. But no, he just gets shot in the dick and dies.

well, they didn't take the time to develop anyone in the cabin group, Carver or anyone from 400 days...why would they take the time to develop Troy?
Most of the characters turn out to be one dimensional. Troy wasn't really meant to be a well developed character but more of someone who exists just for your hatred.
This problem also extends to Carver too. Disappointing since episode 2 made you question his true intentions and whether to trust the cabin group or not but nope. He was just a typical asshole and delusional dictator cliché.
yeah, Troy was a plot device to make the player hate Howes in lieu of actually having to develop the institution into something worth hating.
Just another character made for the player to hate. I like Troy, i thought some of his dialogue was funny.
But that was the problem with S2. A lot of undeveloped characters. Even Chuck in S1 was barely in the game and they created a personality that people still enjoy.
Troy fucking sucked as a character, but his death at least contributed a lot of pleasure and happiness for me.
I could watch his dick being blown to Timbuktu a thousand times.
Simply beautiful. And you're damn right I'm on that edge today.
His rooster aint leading anymore chickens.
ARE YOU telling me that you had a problem believing that some characters were Realistic in Season two. Carver,Kenny,Jane, CArlos, Sarita, Alvin etc were all weak one dimensional characters. Troy wasn't the only one.
No, you are not the only one! I hate that Troy was a generic jerkass. But that could be said for a whole bunch of the characters this season, he wasn't the only one-dimensional, 'only there to move the plot along' type character. I would have been fine with him still being a scumbag if they kept him around longer, but he at least could have been one worthy of analysis and discussion...but he is so bland he does not deserve it. 3:
