There is no more going in there with an empty mind. That's the point of the post. It's now predictable. There is no mystery. Everyone will die except Clementine.
Think of it as a story. Not as 'TellTale is killing off all their characters'. If you were invested enough in it things like that shouldn't … morematter. I don't get why people keep saying the game is doing things or making them do stuff. No, that is not it at all. You are Clementine, an innocent girl who has been brought up in the wrong time, right in the middle of an apocalypse. End of story.
Don't go expecting stuff, go in there with an empty mind, no thought that you bought the game, just that you are here to make choices in events beyond your (generally) comprehension (clearly).
Like I said, only if you go in there thinking like that, instead of thinking lucky.
I do 'kind' of agree with you on some things though. An idea of mine that I've thought would be good is instead of the two-choice system in important moments, where it is one, or the other, imagine if one of those choices actually ended up in Clementine being killed and an end-game? Then you restart with the other choice? A lot would disagree, but for me, it won't be as black-and-white, your choices can be not just influential on other characters, but on yourself as well.
Back on point...I guess everyone plays the game differently, to be honest, no matter how 'unrealistic' it 'plays', when I am in that game, nothing matters about plot holes, characters that should have died or survived etc. I just make the choices I think will make the outcome that suits me. Also, I just want to say, when you look back on it from a game-wise perspective, yes, it seems incredibly unrealistic, but when you play the game, Clementine perfectly escaped death nearly all the time! There was never a reason for her to die in the first place. You can argue well written story or bad-written story, but for me, its just A story, and one that i'm able to participate in.
