Update Version 1.09 is now live in North America! Please make sure that you start the game while connected to the internet and logged into y

  • Why is the fix only available for the US ? What about EU ? Please fix soon !

  • I second the requests for the EU version. Are they really that different? Roll it out! Don't make me play the timezone card!

We hope to have news on the release for the EU update very soon. When I do get confirmation, I'll make sure to update here first!

  • Waiting the update for South America, Brasil to be precise.

The update should already be available in Brazil. If you are not seeing it pop up when starting the game while connected to the internet and logged into your PlayStation Account, can you please clarify if your PlayStation Account is set up as a North American account, or a European account?

Waiting the update for South America, Brasil to be precise.

  • Is a Brasil PSN account.

I had delete it the game, like I always do when the blackscreen came back.

Downloading now, provide the feedback later. :)

    Thanks for the response.

  • Ok, just download all episodes and updated. I will start a second save file and play, if the bug continues, tomorrow the screen must go black on start up.

Hope to get here with good news tomorrow.

  • Ok, so i just downloaded this patch and IT'S WORKING! Thank you, Telltale staff.

  • For those Who are still having problems even though beeing not EU, I got something. Before entering the game press triangle to check options and than press search for update. In my case the update 1.09 appeared and now the game seems to work

  • Just to clarify, this solution at the very least does not work in Britain.
Checking for an update only gives me a message that I have the latest version, which is 1.08.
Come on Telltale, don't be dicks. You won a few awards for Walking Dead and suddenly feel untouchable? Get over yourselves. Your consumers come first, not your wallets. Trading Standards have been informed and I'll also be speaking to other consumer rights watchdogs about your conduct here. You're consistently delivering a faulty product or not delivering at all. This is no way to do business, no way to treat your customers.

  • Ok this fixed Game of Thrones, now what about Tales from the Borderlands? It's still doing the same thing as this one was. (ie. not loading/black screen). This is very upsetting as I had started episode 3 of Tales and was about half way through when this problem arose. Never had issues until now.

  • I still can't get this game to work, what's going on with it?
I've redownloaded episode 5 and nothing is happening I'm still getting a black screen

  • Getting pretty bloody impatient over here. So far I'm forced to play it on a dying PS3 because Telltale are too cheap to make it cross platform, been forced to replay various sections because the combat scenes kept glitching out and killing me before I had a chance to see the prompt, play with everything in the lowest possible quality in a vain attempt to curb the freezing, wait extra days for episode four because of a ridiculously simple problem that was somehow baffling Telltale, and now because of my geographic location I can't play five even though the problem has been fixed! Worst thing is, these are just my issues. I know countless people have had this black screen for months, and lost multiple saves. Just totally unacceptable and I will not be buying another product from Telltale, full stop. And I thought EA were bad...

Thanks guys! Update 1.09 seems to work fine. If I have any problems, I will be back.

  • So "very soon" means days of silence? I may not buy another Telltale product, but I paid for this one, so at least make it seem like you're all trying.

  • For Europe no changes at all. Just black screen. Are U working on it?

  • Awesome! Thanks a lot !

  • I really don't understand why the update isn't available in Europe yet.
    Can someone explain?

  • i just checked the australian psn and we have the update here now. i dont know if it works yet but if it does awesome

Well, since our dear Mike didn't tell us anything, even though he said he'd immediately let us know when the patch is out in Europe, I just assumed that it wasn't available yet. I have better things to do than checking every day.

But thanks for telling me! Maybe now... after only four months... I can finally play the game I already paid for!

Wow, only took you guys four months to fix this bullshit! Unlike other people I will not thank you for it though. It is your obligation to deliver a working product in exchange for our money. And frankly, the time you took with this, coupled with the lack of proper communiction with your customers, is utterly ridiculous. And I am saying these things as a loyal fan, who has played many of your games and likes to bring them up as prime examples for why video games are art and what amazing feats this medium is capable of. Seriously, you used to be my favourite video game company (after Bioware messed up ME3 so badly). But now I just feel betrayed, ripped off and sad.
And yes, I am fully aware that I'm being overly dramatic, but I don't care.

  • Hey, Bioware patched up ME3 with the extended cut. And I was satisfied with the ending I got. And if you play Dragon Age trilogy, you'll love Bioware even more.

  • FINALLY!!!!! I was the one who first posted about this! THANK YOU! But I'm hesistant to buy more Telltale products. Might as well wait to buy the games until ALL episodes are out.

  • A shiny turd is still a turd. ;)
And I've played the Dragon Age games. They're good, but ME was better.

  • The holographic kid was annoying and his dialogue is full of fallacies and contradictions but I made good choices, saw how they affected the future, and managed to keep Shepard alive and he will be found on the Citadel and be reunited with the girl I romanced (Miranda) who is on Earth waiting for him.
The choices of Dragon Age feel like they have a greater effect, especially with Inquisition's choices which make me impatient for the 4th game. And if u want a game where you see just how much choices have an affect, play The Witcher 3.

The v1.09 update (as some of you may already know) is now live in Europe! Please start the game while connected to the internet and logged into your PSN Profile, and you should receive the alert to update your game to the latest version. After you have updated the game, it will restart to install the update and you should then be able to successfully reach the main menu and continue playing! We thank you for your patience, and hope you enjoy the game!

  • So Mike, we all have the right to know. What the hell caused the problem and why did it take 4+ months to only now resolve it?

  • TelltaleMikeTelltaleMike Former Telltale Staff

Due to the nature of the issue affecting save files, we wanted to take extra care to ensure that the resolution allowed players to continue using their saves, and keep from having to delete them in order to play. Unfortunately I do not have information regarding the details of what caused this issue, but thanks to the extra information provided by all of you, we were able to locate the issue and resolve it in a way that allowed you to be able to keep your save files. I hope that after downloading the latest patch, you are able to continue playing from where you last left off!

  • Well, I'm glad you could enjoyed the ending... I myself am still haunted by it's stupidity to this very day. It already starts when Shepard gets hit by Harbinger's lazer, which should definitely have killed her. How did the Ilusive Man and Anderson get up there? Why can Shepard breathe in space? And holy shit, the motivation of the Reapers is complete and utter nonsens. "We kill you, so you won't be killed by synthetics because organics and synthetics are always at conflict." And the kid says that only a few hours after I reunited the Geth and the Quarians? Wtf. I still don't understand how an ending this stupid could have created by writers this talented. It's a tragedy.
I'm honestly a little bit intimitated by The Witcher series. It looks a little too complex for me, gameplay-wise. D:

  • Shepard is not a her, he's a he, though I prefer the femshep voice actor. Hale sure knows how to act. And the beam struck NEAR Shepard but didn't hit. Shepard wasn't in space, but aboard the Citadel which is a station. And yes, they should've realized the gamers don't care why the Reapers are doing it. I mean they're called REAPERS, of course they're gonna be dicks! I mean "The created will ALWAYS rebel against their creators" is BS cuz the Geth didn't rebel but rather acted in self defense and you can't just predict the future. Even Mordin was wrong about the Genophage.
The Witcher 3 took choices to a whole new level only seen in Inquisition but a bit harder cuz it's the finale. Here, you MUST keep an eye on some optional side quests cuz when the game ends, you see the future of the universe you live in. You can make a happy end for the main character while making the whole world a nightmare for other races if you chose not to help in the assassination of a tyrant. The complex choices make the game totally worth it. Lucky for me, I made all the right choices and got an ending I liked a lot. Just keep our eyes open.

  • There's an upcoming film tht will follow the game's plot. Shepard will be male.

Well, that's unfortunate, but it has nothing to do with the validity of the protagonist of the actual game. Also that movie is "upcoming" since 5 years. If that thing ever gets made I'll eat a broomstick. Same thing as the Heavy Rain movie. PS: Male Shepard is gay. ;)

Femshep is gay too. In my game, she and Traynor had a fun time in the shower...wait who showers with their underwear on?
And male shepard romanced Miranda in my game. So I guess he's bi.
