Did anyone else here think that Telltale shouldn't have killed Pete off so soon in Season 2?

edited May 2015 in The Walking Dead

I really liked Pete and became quite attached to him early in S2 but was there any reason to kill him so quickly in the game? :/ He reminded me of Lee in a way and he seemed like a wise and reasonable guy. I really thought he was gonna stick with Clem till the end of S2

  • I think the way they handled his character was pretty good, but I do wish he'd stuck around for a little longer because he is kinda forgotten. I really liked it when Pete was talking to Clem about that hunting stuff and Nick; I really got a family impression from him that I remember thinking 'I want this guy to stick around'...yeah we all know how that turned out x_x

  • I felt really sorry for him when he told Clementine that he was scared to die when they locked themselves in that little RV thing or whatever it was. That bit gave me the feels. :(

  • Nah, I don't really care that much. Sure he seemed like a reasonable enough guy but at the end of the day I didn't really know him long enough to miss him.

  • He seemed like a smart reasonable person. I doubt if Pete lived longer we would have realized how fucking worthless they are. And he'd probably wouldn't allow Clem to do as much as she does throughout the season.

  • No, but Pete was askin for it being so welcoming and nice to Clementine. Pete was the ideal person to look after Clem, that's precisely why he had to go...so Clem could choose between two emotionally unstable people...the walking dead needs an emotional impact and you can't get that unless well liked characters die or are separated somehow

  • A million times YEEEEEEES. Good Guy Pete got axed too soon. He was my favorite character out of everyone in Season 2. Literally. Even counting Clem and Kenny. Even just one more episode would have been enough :'(

  • YES! Pete deserved more development. He was a great guy who could have taught Clem a lot more than he did.

  • Pete was the first of many with wasted potential. R.I.P

  • If he was alive, he could have stopped Kennys madness, or even make a simple plan to get out of carvers.

  • Pete certainly didn't deserve to get killed off as soon as he did. Pete and Luke where the first new characters we met. (Not counting the bandits ofcourse.) I liked both of them almost instantly. Everyone else in the cabin group took a while to grow on me and I was really hoping Pete would amputate his leg and survive at least until the 3rd episode.

  • Yes, although I fear they would have turned him around 100% and ended up being a sudden madman.

  • I kinda realized Pete was a goner first episode when I swapped my decision from Nick to Pete and got surprized when Nick didn't die and just ran off ;_; kinda knew then dear old Pete wasn't going to make it.

  • Same. I liked him though so I hoped he would prove me wrong... Sadly he didn't.
