One thing Season 3 needs to cut

The forced bonding ew... They gotta stop making us bond with characters some of us don't want anything to do with and both seasons are guilty of this. In Season 1 we were forced to bond with Kenny's dumb ass seed and in Season 2 we were continually forced to bond with Kenny and Jane

  • I'm kinda afraid they'll introduce romance into the game.

  • They need to stop killing people off so early. Lee is an exception since I think it's perfect for his demise to save Clementine.

  • True, what's the point in taking care of people once you know they all are gonna be either dead or missing by the end of the season.

  • Id rather bond with Kenny than someone like Larry or say Molly/Jane for example!

But what Season 3 needs is:

    1. Longer episodes (at least 2 hours like most S1 eps were) which would give more time for character and story development.
    2. More hubs for the playable character to explore and actually say things when looking at them like Lee did where as Clem in S2 would most of the time just look at something in silence. It was utterly boring!
    3. More gameplay and wider areas to explore instead of just virtually watching an episode instead of playing it.
    4. If Clem runs into any S1 characters again, they need to explain in detail what happened to them, maybe explain what they've been through, Clem to share the same, how Lee died, how Kenny survived etc. Not just a lame "i got lucky, real lucky" response!!!
    5. Some may disagree but, to include more walker threats. Season 2 didn't seem half as intense as Season 1 walker moments.
    6. Clem to kill her first human being (not counting Kenny/Lee or the Stranger determinant choices). I would love to see a scene showing Clem struggling to kill a human for the first time.
    7. Something that definitely won't happen but one day dream of in a game like this is story branching but it would be months and months work to make different scenarios but just imagine what would have happened if Lee and Clem had actually gone with Lilly in the RV instead of with Kenny and the train? Or if Lee had gone with Clem to look for her parents when they got to Savannah?

i could probably think of more but these are things i really want to see happen/get brought back.

  • I agree with the first example. I don't blame them for working on other games but at least every 3-4 months for an episode to give better character development and not make determinant characters die in the same season such as Sarah. This can solve and save the game series itself.

Nah, I think the bonding scenes are a good thing, so long as the PC has a say in whether or not they like the character during and afterwards, it was a bit frustrating having no say in whether or not I liked Kenny.

  • Just disagree with whatever they suggest and be mean to them whenever they are talking to you.

I mean, it's still kinda forced to be around them and like them, but stick with one of them and just piss off the other whenever you get in a conversation with them.

Worked fine for me when I kept ditching Jane and insulting her, blaming her and telling her I don't like her.

    rip jane

I don't mind the bonding. I just want characters that are worth bonding over, not this hokey bullshit where everyone dies regardless so what's the point in actually learning about bland character A? Also, Telltale needs to prioritize who's worth bonding over. For example, if you resurrect a character from the dead and keep continuously relying on him (or her) talking and referencing old shit like nothing over sixteen months happened to him (or her), maybe not have him (or her) be such a large part of the character interaction.

Or just, you know, not have him (or her) be part of the equation in the first place.

  • Because the OP was talking about us players being forced to bond with characters and he/she stated hated bonding with Kenny so i said id rather that than jane or Molly

  • They need to cut Clementine out of season 3 that is all.

  • It's more along the lines of "be thankful for what you have", something of the sort.

  • The bonding was in character. It wouldn't be within Lee's character range to just ditch Kenny or drop him as a hopeless case.

  • Nick is a good example for this. They force you to listen to his story about his mom and shit. Doesn't change the fact that he went trigger happy twice.

  • Episode 4 Amid The Ruins is a prime example. Not even able to tell Bonnie to do it herself since she wants to say Clementine "not expected to do a damn thing" (Determinant Cover Luke Episode 5) Can't stand that kind of interaction.

  • I was speaking more about them in Season 2. Duck was the only absolutely horrid case of this in Season 1 and there was no reason at all for it other then to build development before he died

  • It would make even less sense for a character like Clementine to ditch Kenny as a hopeless case. Until what happens in episode 5 I guess, in which case you actually are presented the choice of doing so.

As for Jane....it's less like bonding and more like Jane coming onto Clementine, which again, was in character given how Jane lost her sister. And also after EP.5 if Jane lives you have the choice to ditch her.

Actually they don't force you, don't accept his apology, save Pete and don't talk to him after the bridge sequence.

  • The majority of this game is talking to people to get the dramatic scenarios started. Some character bonding stuff advances the story and the option to skip would mean a disaster for Telltale to get people to be engaged in the game. At least TWD asks your opinion on the characters you bond with and it can be negative. You don't like a character, fine, but that don't change the fact that that character is important to the story (at some point).

  • Lol you are that, my friend which leads me to wonder hpw you didn't rip your hair out of your head

I don't need to think too hard about it considering I'm living proof of the example.

  • I'm talking about like hearing Nick talk about killing his mom, Bonnie telling Clementine to talk to Kenny even if you say no, same with Mike. That kind of interaction

  • No point of TWD if it revolves around a girl that has to do the work for the useless group of Season 2.

I don't care who dies, as long as Clem is alive and well I don't care.

I had to shave my head in order to prevent any further damage after In Harms Way. Cause Jesus when he was sulking and bitching like a baby the whole episode, it really made me want to just really fuck up my scalp.

Yeah, you don't have to learn about Nick killing his mother if you help Pete at the river and then you don't talk to Nick after the bridge.

    yes...this says it all

  • Hopefully not with Clementine.

    :/

I don't think they'll ever do that anyway.

But for other characters? A little love in the zombie apocalypse would make the world a little brighter.

I'm kinda afraid they'll introduce romance into the game.

  • or say Molly/Jane for example!

I find Molly and Jane to be polar opposites. Molly's just really sarcastic, but she does have a heart. Jane on the other hand, doesn't seem to hesitate when it's to save herself over another.

  • I wanted to bond with Sarah. Telltale never gave her choice but to give her an unnecesary painful death.

  • I think they kinda botched that tbh :/. I think their goal was to make someone with a brash exterior with a soft spot but mostly he just cane off as an asshole. I think his redeemable factor in Season 1 is you could choose how he acted towards you with decisions no such thing existed in Season 2
