All those reused models in the screenshots is getting me thinking that they have to be intentional, right? They're not even obscure, they're in full view. Clem's drawing is standing out right at the front in the trailer. I thought Easter eggs at first but the lockers are just pointless really. If they were reused models, I'd at least be trying to draw attention away from the fact.
One question...do i need to have read the comics or watched the show in order to play/understand this game? Or is this like other ttg games like GoTS1, which can be played even without watching tv show as it introduced everything to us
I believe that Telltale once stated that we don't need to read the comics but it'd be recommended for better understanding of certain things. Although at the same time I heard that there won't be any spoilers from comics in this game but tbh, I don't think it's possible to not include any kind of spoilers. Maybe they'll avoid major spoilers but I think they'll spoil something from the comics. Good thing I actually read them.

Why censor, also "For fuck sake" doesnt make sense anyway
stop re-using objects in your games,
But unless its a really massive thing even huge fans of the game wont notice till a second playthrough and the vast majority of players would never notice
All those reused models in the screenshots is getting me thinking that they have to be intentional, right? They're not even obscure, they're… more in full view. Mr. Pine got re-used a trillion times in Season 2, everywhere, every episode. I'd of given anything to see a birch tree instead, or maybe an oak? ;_;
And agreed. It's not really the issue of re-using, but it's in what ways digital models are re-used. Like the same type of backpack constantly showing up, or that family at the end of Season 2 for example who are made up parts from other characters; not so much a bad thing for background characters, but that family got a lot of focus put on them with speaking lines and I couldn't take them seriously when the mother was Molly, the not-blood-related son Duck, and the father consisting of parts from Nick, Luke and Carlos who we just spent the season with.
In all honesty, they've been re-using stuff since... forever, really.
I don't see the problem with re-using things, depending on how they… more're re-used. If you're re-using a random background prop that the general audience wouldn't really notice, I don't see the big problem. If you're repurposing an older model (new textures, changes to the model itself, etc), I don't see the trouble, either. It's when you're shamelessly re-using something that is very obviously out of place or blatantly re-used that it starts to get a bit ridiculous. Like if they made an episode that takes place in a camp that is a re-skin of the motor inn from S1, for example. Where it's super obvious it's the exact same thing, just with a few different colors or signs that barely hide the fact. That's where I personally start drawing the line.
If you're re-using small stuff, then whatever; it allows you to cut a few corners, and is arguably more efficient than making a … [view original content]
Show doesn't have anything to do with the Video Game or the Comics
Well the show has quite a bit to do with the comics, particularly lately they still follow the same overall story.
(I think I see why people hate him because he is a badass non-comic character)
I dont think thats the reason
And yeah I get their are slight changes but overall things are pretty similar. In Michonnes case her story is near identical

Updated the main post with a countdown to the Extended Preview (the first five minutes) of The Walking Dead: Michonne - Episode 1: "In Too Deep" as well as a link to Telltale's YouTube channel where they will host the extended preview.

They'll also probably mention Oceanside, the community where Pete is supposed to be from, and Siddiq, an Arab-American man from Miami who travelled up the east coast. Siddiq stumbled upon Oceanside, and eventually came across Alexandria Safe-Zone, letting Rick know about the former community.
While on one hand I'm happy - we finally got an official release date. But on the other... my worst fear confirmed, the episode won't come o… moreut until the end of February.
You'd think when it comes to Telltale I'd be used to bearing up with extended wait periods by now, but it never gets easier for me.
(4) So if it's based on the comics, will I need to have read the comics to understand the plot? Will I still enjoy the game if I have not?
During an E3 interview, Job Stauffer (Telltale's PR Manager) said that you will not have had to have read the comics to enjoy the game, but it will help if you do. According to Telltale, the story will take place between issues #126 and #139 of the Walking Dead comic. This will place the beginning of the story about two years into the apocalypse, which is roughly during the same time as the events in Telltale's The Walking Dead: Season Two.

Youre getting the same thing, just a little earlier
Guess thats one way of seeing it. Anyway I'll just have to avoid this section until the episode is released after that date, I see no reason to ruin a chunk of the game for myself especially given that the episodes are never very long to begin with

To be honest, I don't think that exchanging a letter for a symbol makes much of a difference. People can still decifer the original word, plus the meaning and intention behind the word are still there.
Wouldn't it be a good idea for someone to create a thread, and have everyone comment the preview just there, so that this one stays spoiler-free? I mean, I'm going to watch it myself, but I'd do it if it means making things a little easier for those who don't.

I find it quite sad that we got all the episode rated all in one day, get some screenshots and have a preview scheduled for this sunday, but we have to wait two weeks to get this... I'm ok with waiting for it, But I feel like we would have gotten it sooner. They could still surprise us with a stealth release this Tuesday, but it's alright. They probably need some more time to get the bugs out anyway.

It's like every other Telltale game I'd assume, no prior knowledge necessary, it just enhances the experience.
Finally a release date. Im expecting tons of QTEs, I hope the xbone can handle it.

I cant wait for michonne
Dang it, I knew there was a prehistoric quality to them.

Likely, though more hinting. I mean tv show fans will get spoiled of future events so I doubt it will be more than a reference and likely not by name
Well the show has quite a bit to do with the comics, particularly lately they still follow the same overall story.
Its just a reused model. Apart from people on here I doubt anyone will notice it, heck I sort of recognized it but that's all.

Yes but it has a lot of differences for example:
-Daryl Dixon, a character who never existed in the Comics (I think I see why people hate him because he is a badass non-comic character)
-Andrea is such a p'''y b''ch in the Show when her comic character is badass and nicer
-Hershel takes role of Tyresse's death from Comics
etc.
I dont think thats the reason
And yeah I get their are slight changes but overall things are pretty similar. In Michonnes case her story is near identical
You're right. I think the fanbase it's what makes them, because fangirls always say "If he dies, WE RIOT". Is it?
Most of those changes are definitely not minor. I saw CineFix's videos about differences from the comics and the show and they were somewhat huge.
I think he is trying to be a little bit civil.

What is an"extended preview", because it sounds very spoiler filled
They are just going to show the first five minutes of the Episode before it premieres on the 23rd.
Jesus Christ it's just censoring, are you really gonna analyze, criticize and nitpick the comments?
Yep, and if you're like me and don't want even 1 SECOND spoiled, like myself, just skip the preview. Simple.
Its only two more weeks.
I'll quote the Unofficial FAQ here:

Lazy or efficient? People are always complaining about how long it takes for episodes to come out.

You can bookmark this particular thread and stay here for spoiler free updates/discussion on the game before it comes out, if you like.
And I'll be counting every second...

Excellent! I think that's good idea. I don't think I'll watch the trailer, I just want to experience it as it happens, with me at the wheel.
I was thinking of doing that, yes. I just didn't make a thread for that yet as it seemed a bit early.
Telltale just tweeted this vine
May I ask what is happening on February 17th?

Guy in blue, confirmed to suck
Wow, so that blue boy will be another Ben situation.
His clothes even resembles Ben's.
You don't say, Captain Obvious
