I believe a Telltale member said they have the ability to fast-forward through conversations and skip to various scenes so they can more easily look for bugs. So what you see as their playtime isn't guaranteed to be the actual play time.
The only thing I kinda miss are the hubs, but I can live without the "puzzles". A lot of the time they were tedious and just there for extra… more padding to make the episode feel longer. I would love to talk to characters again during calmer moments, but I also don't mind not having it. It'd be nice to have, but the circumstances between Lee's story and Clem's story is different, so it won't bother me if Clem doesn't have hubs.
But I won't complain if some pop up next episode. I'm honestly fine with how it is now, though.
The puzzles combined with the hubs like the train ones in episode 3 after you finish them you feel a sense of accomplishment and that you are playing a game. In season 2 when you dont have them the episode just moves on way too quick. Seems they substituted the hubs and puzzles for just pure action and quick dialogue choices, dont know how i feel about it.
''One sitting''. What a bunch of bullshit.
I read a lot of books. I'm currently reading Notes from a Dead House by Dostojevski and The Gu… morenslinger by Stephen King. Notes is a book one needs to follow with concentration due to the difference in syntax AND because it isn't a traditional story. It is rather the author's experiences told in succession of themes that he's reminded of. I've currently let that book sit idly by whilst I finish the Gunslinger. But if I were to pick up Notes this moment I wouldn't miss a beat - it would be like I didn't put it down. And this applied to other books, when I was getting buttfucked by a job AND by uni at the same time.
You want to know why? It's because I have this thing called a ''memory'' which allows me retain knowledge and information for long periods of time. Sure, it doesn't last a long time for some things (math and physics being ones that evaporate in mere hours) but for stories it can last fo… [view original content]
So what you're saying is that If i believe hard enough that the episodes are long then they'll feel long and i'll be overall 100% happy when i'm done with the episodes even though they were still 60 minutes long?
I'm pretty sure one of TTG staff, Arthurv, stated that they tend to fast forward their playthroughs. It makes it faster. So i'm guessing the real time is around 1 hour and 20-30 minutes.
Damn straight, the new TWAU episode is supposedly gonna be 50 minutes long. How the hell can they explain the whole murder and shit in 50 minutes!? They need to explain everything.
Honestly they don't have to listen to us.. as long as they know people are pissed about it thats good enough for me. it gives them a final opportunity to fix the final two episodes.
Well, like a lot of you here, I desire longer episodes too. Whether it happens or not is anyone's guess. Just gonna have to find out when episode 4 finally gets released. The last two episodes are Telltale's chance to really shine and end the season on a memorable high.
Lucky for us the Wolf is coming soon.. So while some of us play that and discuss it hopefully they will use that time to beef up the final two episodes and make them memorable. I was really expecting TWD episode 4 to come out first.. Its very unusual.. granted the 3 month wait for episode 2 but still... somethings going on at telltale..

No. People have been voting me down in other topics for things that aren't the least bit offensive. I can take people, disagreeing with me but not down voting me for no reason.
This wouldn't even be an issue if choices mattered more (they don't)
Seriously, if Wolf Among Us finale is another disappointing 1 hour experience and the next two Walking Dead eps follow the same suit, I'm just not buying another Telltale game. I think we can only really vote with our money guys, if we want them to make them longer, we have to buckle up and stop playing their games.
I actually found a website that lists the times of all the episodes by average players. All of Season 1 clocked in at around 12.5 hours. By assuming that season 2 will have the same length throughout it equals only around 7-8 HOURS!!! I dont see why Telltale just doesnt add hubs! Not only can you get attached to the characters, it makes the game longer! Here's the website that I found this information http://www.howlongtobeat.com/search.php?t=games&s=the+walking+dead.
Edit: The 12.5 hours for the first season DOES include 400 days

That's some next level gypsy shit right there.

I said before, that because of the success of season 1, it seems now, that they are focused on money and not producing an amazing game. Look at how many projects they have on the go? They are big names too, with a built n fan base. I don't think its just a coincidence that season 2 has kind of slipped since taking on multiple projects and rather big named projects too. Money, that's all its about.
Money talks bullshit walks. The only way to get telltales attention is MONEY. I am totally disgusted with TWD season two. When I played the … morefirst season all episodes were already released. I played straight through and thought it was the best game ever. Season two with its delays have killed the game for me. I won't start playing again until the last episode has been released for this season. I will never buy another season pass from telltale. I will continue to buy and play their games but not until the last episode has been released. Hit telltale in the pocket book and maybe they will start to listen. DON”T BUY ANY MORE SEASON PASSES. Wait until the last episode has been released before you buy.
I really liked Telltale. They were like the only game company which cared about their games. But now, they're struggling to make 3 games at once. Telltale, please don't become one of those developers like Activision.
Exactly, Telltale needs to stop being heroic and taking 4 games at once, they need to stop hoarding more titles and finish with this project before starting another, because all the games' quality is going down because of that.
Honestly they don't have to listen to us.. as long as they know people are pissed about it thats good enough for me. it gives them a final opportunity to fix the final two episodes.
Believe it or not, this is one thing I can actually agree with when it comes to choices mattering more. And I do know the work involved in making the choices matter more (meaning branching paths). That said, it would lead to a longer development time. It's all about priorities really.
But I must say that I found it funny when episode 3 of The Wolf Among Us had an entirely different chapter based on choices made, yet no-one commented on it really. I guess much of the work would go unnoticed which is pretty unfair, but it's the world we live in really.

Telltale needs to fix their marketing strategies, for real though. I bet everyone would be so excited about tales from the borderlands if they just would’ve stopped shoving it close to our faces when we wanted news on walking dead or wolf among us. If they would’ve waited longer with this new series and paid more attention to their most popular games no one would complain all the time about the plot holes and short episodes or the lack of character interaction we remember from walking dead season 1. the goal to become a good and popular company is to make one or two good games a year, not 4 or more ‘nice’ and ‘okay’ games.

Your reply appeared on my feed but the comment itself disappeared, go figure, anyway, I can't seem to find it, it's somewhere buried deep in the recent pages of threads. Maybe Gary Oak can link it to you, we made it together.
I commented on it. I said how much replay value it gave me as well as how much I enjoyed meeting another character. There hard work is not going unnoticed.

I loved the puzzles because they gave me time to think and kind of just relax, even the sewer puzzle in Around Every Corner.

Fucking good post.
No. People just don't like your opinion on this topic.

It must be nice working at TTG. Do whatever the fuck you like.

That's not what I'm saying...
Agreed
I recently went through TWD season 1 again. That was a hell of a lot more game play than season 2, way more involved, and less boring.
I want more gameplay in season 2. they can make up for it and make episode 5 three hours long.
Honestly, I kind of agree!

Nope. Winnie the Pooh reference.
NOW you're talking!
Oh, hi! Didn't see you last night.
They are high on the success sadly, I hope they sober up.
Well, bro, I hope you are right.

The art-style and gameplay mechanics have improved but the length of the product has suffered in the process.

Can you link me to this pettition?
Exactly, that's what we said on our petition, too bad it faded away...

I agree, but I am so anxious to get the next episode that I don't care how long it is at this point in time. But I agree, they need to step up.
Telltale, it's the final of twau and you give us like 70 minutes of gameplay? Seems like you just want to get over this game as fast as you could.
Oh, I always liked that cartoon!
I commented on it. I said how much replay value it gave me as well as how much I enjoyed meeting another character. There hard work is not going unnoticed.
Danke.
I think I might remember you saying something, actually. It was good you did and you bring up another point:
People don't seem to take into account the extra playtime that another playthrough gives.
Anyhow, I'm going to stop here lest I go on and on.
