  • I believe a Telltale member said they have the ability to fast-forward through conversations and skip to various scenes so they can more easily look for bugs. So what you see as their playtime isn't guaranteed to be the actual play time.

    The puzzles combined with the hubs like the train ones in episode 3 after you finish them you feel a sense of accomplishment and that you are playing a game. In season 2 when you dont have them the episode just moves on way too quick. Seems they substituted the hubs and puzzles for just pure action and quick dialogue choices, dont know how i feel about it.

    Like I said before, they wouldn't feel short if you weren't looking at a timer the whole time. This complaining about length is really old now

  • I'm pretty sure one of TTG staff, Arthurv, stated that they tend to fast forward their playthroughs. It makes it faster. So i'm guessing the real time is around 1 hour and 20-30 minutes.

    Honestly they don't have to listen to us.. as long as they know people are pissed about it thats good enough for me. it gives them a final opportunity to fix the final two episodes.

  • Well, like a lot of you here, I desire longer episodes too. Whether it happens or not is anyone's guess. Just gonna have to find out when episode 4 finally gets released. The last two episodes are Telltale's chance to really shine and end the season on a memorable high.

    Lucky for us the Wolf is coming soon.. So while some of us play that and discuss it hopefully they will use that time to beef up the final two episodes and make them memorable. I was really expecting TWD episode 4 to come out first.. Its very unusual.. granted the 3 month wait for episode 2 but still... somethings going on at telltale..

    Seriously, if Wolf Among Us finale is another disappointing 1 hour experience and the next two Walking Dead eps follow the same suit, I'm just not buying another Telltale game. I think we can only really vote with our money guys, if we want them to make them longer, we have to buckle up and stop playing their games.

    Thread: About The Lengths...


    I actually found a website that lists the times of all the episodes by average players. All of Season 1 clocked in at around 12.5 hours. By assuming that season 2 will have the same length throughout it equals only around 7-8 HOURS!!! I dont see why Telltale just doesnt add hubs!   • I recently went through TWD season 1 again. That was a hell of a lot more game play than season 2, way more involved, and less boring.

    I want more gameplay in season 2. they can make up for it and make episode 5 three hours long.

    I said before, that because of the success of season 1, it seems now, that they are focused on money and not producing an amazing game. Look at how many projects they have on the go? They are big names too, with a built n fan base. I don't think its just a coincidence that season 2 has kind of slipped since taking on multiple projects and rather big named projects too. Money, that's all its about.

    Believe it or not, this is one thing I can actually agree with when it comes to choices mattering more. And I do know the work involved in making the choices matter more (meaning branching paths). That said, it would lead to a longer development time. It's all about priorities really.

    But I must say that I found it funny when episode 3 of The Wolf Among Us had an entirely different chapter based on choices made, yet no-one commented on it really. I guess much of the work would go unnoticed which is pretty unfair, but it's the world we live in really.

  • The art-style and gameplay mechanics have improved but the length of the product has suffered in the process.

I bet everyone would be so excited about tales from the borderlands if they just would’ve stopped shoving it close to our faces when we wanted news on walking dead or wolf among us. If they would’ve waited longer with this new series and paid more attention to their most popular games no one would complain all the time about the plot holes and short episodes or the lack of character interaction we remember from walking dead season 1. the goal to become a good and popular company is to make one or two good games a year, not 4 or more ‘nice’ and ‘okay’ games.

    People don't seem to take into account the extra playtime that another playthrough gives.
