More conversations and interactions in general have been high on my wish list from the start.
It's a shame, Mark was generally considered… more to be a redshirt but I think he had more potential conversations with Lee in one episode than Carlos, Sarita, and Jane have had all season.
They can, I know. But why ? Imagined if Rockstar decided to kill the history so we could just fuck shit up ? We would be angry ? It's the same here.
One-sitting policy... How long was The Last Of Us ? Any Pokemon game (DS, I seriously do not know, but it's famous) ? And many other games ? Checkpoints and saves were not made for nothing, If you are tired, take a break, sleep, play again when you have the time to do so.
If you really want to play the full episode in one-sitting. Wait when you have the time to do so.
1) they can (reality is...it's their game...they can do whatever they want to do with it...and i think that sucks)
2) One-sitting policy is… more for someone who has lot of time in their hand....just staying home and playing the damn game.
3) Who knows if TWD next two episodes will be any good...because coming from TWAU...yeah..i hear people complaining about the finale...
4) who knows what they are thinking...
25 bucks is worth more than 90 minutes per episode. Sometimes we surpass 2 months. How many months did people (including my self) wait for 102 of TWAU? 4 months right? And the episode was short and was re written a bunch.
202 of TWD took like 3 months, 203 was 2 months, 204 is about exceed 2 months of no news at all, and i'm pretty sure 205 will exceed "This summer" along with TFBL being delayed to this fall.
These are point and click games. They shouldn't take a century to be played.
Ah but see why do you need more content? If they are going to give you 30 more minutes then why don't they give you another 25 after that? … moreAnd another 15 after that? Because it's superfluous and unnecessary. They can tell the story they are trying to tell in the time span they give you. If they couldn't accomplish this goal then they would add more time. Seeing as this has not happened it is obviously not required. Something is not wrong unless you take into account your "give me more" attitude. As you said, it's a hell of a lot cheaper than other games, and as we saw with season one they don't disappoint.
TWAU was extenuating circumstances. It's hilarious when people use this a justification for them complaining about terribly long waits.
Doesn't it say when you purchase the game that all episodes will be available by the end of fall? So are they not on route to giving you what you paid for?
They may be point and click games, but I'm not paying for a puzzle and cartoon animations shooting zombies. I'm paying for an engaging story that I'll love to hate, that will immerse me in the fictional world and drown me in emotions just to make me happy at the slightest sliver of hope. It might be a point and click game, but the least amount of thought for the game is pointing and clicking.

Well, I don't know about you guys, but, I'm through with expressing my opinions about the length of the episodes and the waits. I have just come to accept that (sadly) it's what happens, whether I like it or not. (Not that opinions seem to matter much, since they tend to fall on deaf ears anyway).

They're supposed to be in by this summer, not to mention not one episode of S2 has been released 4-6 weeks apart. NOT ONE. Also the Borderlands game is supposed to come this summer as well. And i think summer ends on August 1st.
I am in no way convinced that TTG will release two episodes of TWD along with the first episode of TFTBL by August 1st. It won't happen. 204 will come out mid July, 205 will come out in September, and TFTBL will release in like November. As well as delaying GOT to January or February 2015.
The TWD engaging story lasts about 90 minutes. That's not enough for me. What happened to the episodes being 2 hours?
Ever since 105 of TWD was released, the time of the episodes are way too short of my liking and most of the people's liking.
TWAU was extenuating circumstances. It's hilarious when people use this a justification for them complaining about terribly long waits.

Sorry, Clem. I just dunno any more. I still have hope though that the next two episodes are gonna be awesome. I just feel sometimes that what we say seems to have no effect. We play their games, we are their fans, so, Telltale should take into account what we desire, so as to make it the best. Who knows, maybe they do, But we have been saying this for ages and the episodes haven't really improved.
Cry Wolf as awesome and guess what? Our decisions "mattered" in that episode and had many branches. Was short? Yes. But I really didn't care because it was awesome!!
Edit: And I can assure you, the reply valeu in this episode is BIG. You can have many dialogues changes based on your past actions! That is a thing I really like it. So, if Telltale manage to do this with The Walking Dead I think it's okay.
Ok. So here is my opinion.

They are just going to continue removing time episode after episode why? Because we already payed full price for the game or if you are buying the Episodes individually(Consoles) and made it this far there's a probability that you will continue to hand them money. This rioting isnt going to work guys Companies dont listen through walls of Texts instead they listen when its affecting their Wallets we are Still in the early stage lets not let this get worst we need to boycott i know it sounds stupid but its the truth we need to stop buying their games and send a message and then they will listen i dont know about you guys but Game of Thrones and TFTB i will NOT be purchasing.
I play "fallout", and it has endless playing time (actually you can choose not to end the story at all, playing it endlessly),
even one quest takes at least hours, but I don't play it for hours straight, I just save it and quit the game, get up to do other things in real life.
Telltales don't have to worry about one sitting playing time. I can handle it even if they release open world game.
So I just beat four out of six episodes of the first season of Sam & Max within one hour and they suffer from backtracking and SLOOOOOW walking speed. Please tell what you guys are complaining about and inform me where Telltale promised that all episodes would be longer than whatever it is you expected.
Not everyone feels this way. I love restrictions and I really enjoy not being able to play the game for longer as it takes away from my experience but who cares when TTG has some really great points on this subject, right?
This thread seems to have split into two different subjects: the absence of character controlled hubs, and the absence of episode length.
Each episode has been a self contained, well, episode. The environment, setting, and circumstances changes with every one. They're self contained stories. They can't just magically become longer, Telltale would somehow have to make something that uses that time, while not detracting from the pacing or immersion in the episode.
You also have to think about how a hub zone can be placed into a story.
In season 2 episode three, you are in the equivalent of a prison camp.
There is not much time to just go and talk to whoever you want, and in the opportunity where there was, on the first night, there was a hub zone where you could attempt to talk to Nick, (if alive, and without topic choice, though) Mike, and listen to Kenny talk to Reggie (which leads to some charming humorous dialogue.
The thing is, Clementine's season two story hasn't had many stationary moments, like Lee's did, with drug stores, farms, stopped trains, and backyards, and suicide couple rooms.. and it'll be difficult to intelligently write those stationary moments in, especially now that we're searching for survivors in a forest in episode four, it seems.
Hypothetically, if a train blocks Clementine's path, would she be the one to fix it, while talking to everybody?
You do know that season one episode four, despite being the longest episode, is considered by most to be the least favorite?
Mostly because it was filled with filler and first person action and characters that dissappear immediately after the episode anyway?
Telltale responded to that criticism by making every moment matter, and now you're telling them to just "make it longer" without telling them how or even why.
There's a lot of stuff to do in our world, do something else after an hour and a half episode, instead of complaining to Telltale about time.
If anything, focus on player choice should be all that matters, but that seems to be fading in the walking dead. The Wolf Among Us rocked it, though, like it has for everything.
For such intelligent games, I really expected a more intelligence driven popular thread.
Find something else to be "infuriated" about.
The Wolf Among Us, after episode two, released consistently ahead of schedule.
Wow, quite an unpopular opinion. But I agree, I've played very short games I've found incredibly fulfilling. Like I said before, this season's pacing is alot more fast and brutal, making those "stop and talk" moments fewer and further between. Which is fine, this season is literally about Clem and her tale, let them tell it.

People have to remember they have people play-testing their games as well, and I've read that they did have HUBs to talk to more people, but then the play-testers didn't talk to everyone and felt they missed on development so the crew ended up turning them into cutscenes. (I believe the topic was linked somewhere in here, but I don't have the time to go about finding it.)
Clem doesn't have the luxury of time and scenarios like Lee did to talk to people extensively. The only time I can think of where one would have actually worked would have been in Episode 2 after you cross the bridge and stop for a second at Matthew's little cabin, because, I will admit, I was disappointed in the fact I couldn't talk to Sarah.
They're not going to just "make" episodes longer. The HUBs have to fit the narrative, the puzzles have to fit the narrative, everything has to fit the narrative. Clem's story is faster paced than Lee's. Shoe-horning in HUBs during the 16-month skip, or the 5 day skip even, would have been clunky and awkward. Shoe-horning in more "dialogue" in Episode 3 at the camp the first night would have been clunky. Everyone said what they needed to say, there was nothing more for Clem to talk about.
I'm not even disappointed in the waiting times. Yes, it'd be better if they talked more, but I understand things happen. Things have to get cut or changed and that takes up time.
Edit: I also don't understand why you guys say there isn't any meaningful player interaction. There is plenty. I'm honestly wondering if you've all got nostalgia goggles on for the first Season and expect the exact same choices and dialogue and scenarios. Sorry if that sounds a bit sour, I've just seen it a lot and don't understand where it comes from, because there is plenty of meaningful character/player interactions.
If TTG keeps making the episodes shorter and removes the last bits of meaningful player interaction in them,
they can make season 3 a movie and show it at the cinemas.

Context? Context of what? I'm only saying that I played some older Telltale games in which some individual episodes barely reach the one hour mark. So explain to me: where was it stated that Telltale would make the TWD and TWAU episodes longer or better question: why did so many people expected them to be longer..
I actually didn't have a problem with Cry Wolf being short. Honestly, I couldn't even tell. Kind of similar to how S1 E5 of TWD was a shorter episode, but it was still good.

"Decent"
You don't sound 100% about that.......
I don't really think Jane would want to talk, but all the new characters need more development when compared to season 1.
So 60 minutes if you do the minimum and more if you take your time, just like all the other episodes?
They can, I know. But why ? Imagined if Rockstar decided to kill the history so we could just fuck shit up ? We would be angry ? It's the same here.

There was a lot of meaningful interaction in Cry Wolf. About as much as we have ever seen in any of their episodes.
That's how you know you enjoyed it. If you're invested in the story arc, time is the last thing that'll be on your mind.
