No, If you don't save his son in episode 1 he will not come with you without saying that familiy is everything and stuff. A pretty stupid design choice because he was not even mad at us after that.
In my playthrough where I sided with Kenny all the time except regarding ben and the fact that he hit me in the face on the train, he still didn't give me a 'bro speech' and I had to actually convince him to save a little girl's life.
Like, he punched me in the face and I refused to let someone die, and that's why he needed convincing. That's pretty 'shady' m89.
This isn't just about personal experience though. To see who he really is as a person, we have to look at all the evidence, not just the way he acted to one particular person.
Like, the fact that he can refuse to save a little girl's life and can (and usually does) leave Lee to die under a door tells us way more about him as a person than him being civil in some guy's playthroughs.
I'm talking about when they were sitting down in the attic while Omid was working on breaking through the wall. He states that Lilly and her father had gotten between Lee and himself, and that he had spent nights hating Lee's guts... which kind of implies that he had moved past it. After that, you have a chance to apologize to him, after which he does the same.
He never implied that they should kill Lee, he was only talking about being prepared. He never got drunk either.
Really?
I don't recall Kenny apologising for his actions and saying 'its all in the past' in episode 5.
I remember him suggesting the group should kill Lee, yelling at ben, getting drunk, and then making an awesome, noble sacrifice.
Right, well I didn't get his apology because it sounds like you have to say that you're sorry first in order to get it, and I refuse to apologise for doing what I thought was right.

I agree with you for most of that post, but you're mistaken on the last point.
He doesn't just leave because he's in a rush. He actually says 'Let's leave this crazy bitch behind'. EDIT: I was mistaken there, he actually says 'Screw her, let her stay' - but the point remains as valid.
First willing to let some woman, who had done nothing to him, be ripped apart by walkers
She was bitten and going to die anyway. Why… more should he have put Lee and himself in danger just so she could die a more ideal death?
then willing to let Lee die
Yeah, this is the one thing that he has done that I really do not like. It is worth mentioning that this is determinate though.
willing to let Lilly stay behind to die at the motel
You're talking about the bandit attack right? His son and wife just got tackled by a walker, its kind of understandable that he wanted to get out of there in a hurry. Lilly was given more than enough time to get down to the RV. I'm guessing based on prior conversations with Lilly about the motel he assumed that she didn't want to abandon it.

But people kind of are arguing he has no flaws: if you haven't noticed, on this forum if you mention one negative thing Kenny has done, people try to justify it.
I believe he is flawed. It's whether his fans really do that I doubt, because they defend him at every possible opportunity.
You are the only Kenny fan I have seen admitting he has flaws, and actually NAMING those flaws instead of just pretending you think it. For that, I have a great deal of respect for you.
Just because Kenny fans may be more outspoken doesn't mean they are actually the majority. Back when down votes were around, I couldn't say anything positive about Kenny without meeting a tidal wave of downvotes.
I wasn't listing faults, that's why I included the sacrifice.
I literally just listed the things I remembered he did in the episode.
Jinkies, people on the kenny thread be defensive m88888888
Actually he only says "Screw her, let her stay!" during the bandit attack when Lee calls to Lilly to get in the RV. He only calls her a crazy bitch and demands that she be left behind after Lilly shoots Carley/Doug on the side of the road. Though he still probably wouldn't have cared if she hadn't managed to make it to the RV during the attack.
I agree with you for most of that post, but you're mistaken on the last point.

Strange, I feel the same way about saying something negative about Kenny.
I don't really believe that a 'tidal wave' of downvotes woudl hit you, if I'm honest, because I've spent a lot of time on the forums and that happened only in threads specifically anti kenny. In all other threads, ones not specifically pro kenny, I would get a downvote.
Do you remember when people posted 10 threads a day claiming he was jesus?
That has never happened for any other character on this forum. it sure as hell never got that extreme for Luke, with the exception of one single forum by a now banned member back before Kenny was even back in the game.
Also: they ARE the majority. Polls have shown that Kenny fans form the majority of this forum.
Just because Kenny fans may be more outspoken doesn't mean they are actually the majority. Back when down votes were around, I couldn't say anything positive about Kenny without meeting a tidal wave of downvotes.
Im gonna be honest i WANT him to die so i never have to see "Kenny confirmed for season 3" or "Team mustache"or "His god like beard" Seriously Kenny is like a meme on these forums
I literally sided with him at every opportunity I could.
I made a specific playthrough, because I thought it would be fair, to see what w… moreould happen if I was a sucky-up friend of Kenny throughout the game.
And he still refused to save Clem initially.

I wouldn't exactly call saving a girl from experiencing a horrible agonizing death as giving her a "more ideal death". That's sugarcoating it.
I doubt it would have gone down well with Kenny if we decided to treat Sarita as walker bait like that when she was bitten..
And how many times did Kenny and Lee make a trip into town? It's nothing they couldn't handle.
And the other points Flog has already addressed. Better than I could anyway.

He is a meme and a bandwagon character, but that's not a good reason to want someone dead.
Some (few) of his fans can be extremely annoying and infantile, just ignore them.
I'm totally team Luke, but I worry about Kenny and what he'll be like if he ends up losing it. The baby is Kenny's lifeline and if the lifel… moreine gets taken away there's little stopping him from falling apart again, in fact he's barely keeping together and is just putting all his focus on the baby now. I serious think Kenny is in a need of another Clem hug T_T
I've been thinking about it and it's not even about Kenny being an asshole or not that I want him gone.
It's because I'm playing as Clem, and Clem doesn't know half the stuff I know about Kenny. She doesn't share my opinion of him and that gets really frustrating when playing the game.
Ok, I like Kenny a lot more than Luke. I got the bro speech in S1, and I still agree with most of his decisions. But, I'm not sure if I'd save Kenny over Luke, if that is an actual choice. I just feel like Kenny has run his course. I think that as long as we get a good finishing arc with him, the baby, and Clem in No Going Back, then I'll be ready to say a final goodbye to Kenny, and save Luke's life, instead of his (if that ends up being an actual choice). It would finally give Kenny the release that he seems to be desperate for. So that he can be reunited with his family. And it helps that I like Luke, and that he still has a lot of potential.
To sum up, if it comes down to giving one of them bandages, or just helping in general, I'd probably pick Kenny. But if it came down to choosing who would live longer, I'd probably pick Luke. Kenny is my favorite NPC, but it's time for his story to end.
Hmmm... I just noticed that Flog61 does not give up easily. He is in every single thread related to Kenny (either hate or fan thread) and starts arguing with people. Why can't you just give up and respect people's opinions ? I respect yours, you can hate Kenny if you want, but is it worth the time to make hate comments all day ?
Lee: "I'm sorry for anything that I might of done to hurt you Kenny. It's impossible to go through life without causing some kind of hurt. Sometimes I wish I caused a little less"
Really?
I don't recall Kenny apologising for his actions and saying 'its all in the past' in episode 5.
I remember him suggesting the group should kill Lee, yelling at ben, getting drunk, and then making an awesome, noble sacrifice.
I put up with him all through episode 2, eventhough I agreed to help Lily gaining his anger, but I think he really started losing me in ep3 also when that door fell on my Lee and Kenny was about to walk away. I was like, "WTF! You did not just almost walk off and leave me to die!"
Kenny lost my support in s1e3. First willing to let some woman, who had done nothing to him, be ripped apart by walkers, then willing to let… more Lee die, then willing to let Lilly stay behind to die at the motel.
Yeah, real stand up guy that Kenny. I just wish karma would catch up to him already.

Yeah, I didn't have a problem with him either in the first two episodes, even in the meat locker I got where he was coming from. And I'm more than willing to forgive the way he acted after Duck was bitten.
It's the first half of episode 3 pretty much in it's entirety that made me dislike the man.

Man, this thread is like a dead horse everyone seems perfectly ok with beating. Who cares where your loyalties lie? Cause at the end of the day, Kenny and Luke are both pretty shit characters.

No, If you don't save his son in episode 1 he will not come with you without saying that familiy is everything and stuff. A pretty stupid design choice because he was not even mad at us after that.
I'm stuck between the fact that Kenny has put his life on the line for others, and the fact that Kenny has murdered others.
I'm trying to figure out if the two balance each other out or one takes precedence.
Regardless, I'm pretty sure he'll die in episode 5 anyway, so no point worrying about my opinion of him now.
Yes they are. Just look at the post right above my head.

Above your head I see the vast majority of players supporting Kenny, taking into account both individual posts and upvotes.
The post right above your head says 'Kenny all the way to the end', which supports what I was saying.
Right, well I didn't get his apology because it sounds like you have to say that you're sorry first in order to get it, and I refuse to apologise for doing what I thought was right.
That isn't true. My brother did not save Duck on the farm and yet he still got the bro speech.
There had to have been more to it than that.
I agree with you for most of that post, but you're mistaken on the last point.

No one is arguing that the guy has no flaws. Making a few questionable decisions does not have to make him a bad person.
Nor am I arguing that he is a bad person.

He rode a train and fixed up a old RV too
Actually he only says "Screw her, let her stay!" during the bandit attack when Lee calls to Lilly to get in the RV. He only calls her a crazy bitch and demands that she be left behind after Lilly shoots Carley/Doug on the side of the road. Though he still probably wouldn't have cared if she hadn't managed to make it to the RV during the attack.
He doesn't say that at the motel... he says that after she shoots Carley/Doug in the head. Or am I mistaken..?

Could have been a glitch I suppose.. I don't know why else that would happen.

True but still gets unbearable at times
Picking between Luke and Kenny is like deciding who too save ... Your mom or dad
Kenny was my friend...
Kenny is what passes for a friend now a days.
I've been thinking about it and it's not even about Kenny being an asshole or not that I want him gone.

Not really but I guess it depends on your experiences.
I put up with him all through episode 2, eventhough I agreed to help Lily gaining his anger, but I think he really started losing me in ep3 also when that door fell on my Lee and Kenny was about to walk away. I was like, "WTF! You did not just almost walk off and leave me to die!"
That baby should not be responsible for Kenny's sanity. I sincerely hope that someone else takes him.
Well, in hindsight, I find it extremely hard to disagree with him... RIP Carley...
Telltale should really have made this a choice.
Yeah, I didn't have a problem with him either in the first two episodes, even in the meat locker I got where he was coming from. And I'm more than willing to forgive the way he acted after Duck was bitten.
