I don't think it matters if you're nice to him after Clem shoots his sister in the head when she starts to turn. After that he pretty much looks at Clem with hatred.
I thought he was going to die the moment he said its his birthday. Like an old cop saying hes going to retire tomorrow whilst showing a picture of his family. Goddammit I didn't want to be right.

I was far from pro-Luke, in fact I was at his throat for most of the season, started warming up to him in ep 5 though and he ends up dying, just my luck. Anyway, despite how I might of felt he was at heart, a good guy. He didn't have the most heroic death but he was prioritizing Clem's safety which is respectable, I did actually attempt to help him regardless of what he said but it was in vain. Ah well, R.I.P Luke, sorry for being a dick most the time.

I cried. Hard. I really hoped I had just made the wrong call by helping and could replay and save him, but I guess not. His death was decent, especially as far as S2 deaths go, but I'm kind of pissed that he went out so early in the episode especially since he was FINALLY getting some fleshing out. Guess I should've seen that coming.
He was the only one I would've wanted my Clem to end up with, and now she's alone with AJ because everybody else screws you over or is fucking crazy. RIP Luke, you were a good guy.
He really was. He's also the only genuinely good person to die a real death in the episode, not just a determinant one. That kinda says a lot about how Telltale feels about good people in the Zombie Apocalypse.
He died like a boss. He died like the alpha male he wanted to be. His last act was Lee like, keep Clementine safe. Thanks buddy, the first guy after Omid and Christa to make Clementine laugh.
I can see exactly why they killed him off before the end choice. He was the obvious choice had he been around for the fight. Two survivors out to kill each other, you see this kid taking part in that? He would have taken Clem and the baby right the fuck away. Because he had a pure heart. There was no evil in there. And he deserved the best death this game. Twenty seven years do not do you justice, my boy.

Yeah, I get why they killed him off too. But I was really hoping for Telltale to allow one genuinely good person to survive with Clem. Why they always have to kill off the nice people?

Omg, same. I was in such denial the whole episode, I was all like, "Luke will come back... he's not dead. He'll always come back for us." ;_; And I didn't even think about walker!Luke... yes, thank God that didn't happen!
Apparently there's an unused audiofile of Luke being pulled out of the icy waters, gasping for air, and living.
So yes, I think originally, he was going to be one of the options at the end. But for some unknown reasons, they cut it out.
Hate to break this to you. If you choose to cover him, he falls in and then you can break the ice to try to save him. Then, Clem falls in and sees Luke Frozen to death . However, he might come back as a male version of Elsa JK

Lol, didn't mean for that to be the exact title of the thread. Ugh, this kills me. I'd have traded any of the other companions for Luke. They built this up for the Luke vs. Kenny finish and in the end, they choose to use Jane instead? Why?! I've never seen a company get so many things right and so many things wrong at the same time.
Yes, and if Kenny could get lucky, he could too, right? He'll just show up in season 3 with a beard and be like, "long story short, I got lucky! REAL lucky." Ahahaha, we're in such denial. Seriously, why did he have to die? -_-

I've just played the episode and am too in shock to emotionally process this right now but all I can say is Thank You Nick Breckon for saving season 2, even if you did kill everyone I ever cared about
To be fair his death wasn't that bad. I actually liked it.
He was set to pseudo-oppose Kenny, but they killed him and allowed another cha… moreracter who has all the right reasons to oppose Kenny to do so.
Sucks what happened though he was rather cool and I was almost thinking about choosing him.

Arvo... I wonder what happened to Bonnie, Mike, and Arvo. I could see Kenny killing them all.
Uh, I don't know about you guys but when I played Ep 5 I cried soooo much when he...

That's what I was thinking!!! Gosshhh I hope there's some way possible for that to happen!!!
My reaction
Thank you. I too liked that he put Clementine's safety before his own. He was looking out for her in the end.

Such a sad way to go!
I trusted mike that asshole was at bro status goddammit
Luke. My bae.

Yeah, our options were: Angry-Explosive-Crazy, Loner-Sister-Issues Crazy, Traitorous Asshole, Traitorous Bitch, & Trigger-Happy Russian Asshole.
And then there was Luke: Occasional fuck-up, but still an all-around good guy.
Luke, why'd you have to die, man? Clem and AJ need you!
Yeah, I get why they killed him off too. But I was really hoping for Telltale to allow one genuinely good person to survive with Clem. Why they always have to kill off the nice people?
Because that's the walking dead. Sometimes great people die without reason.
For Once, Luke didn't make you do everything. He didn't want you to do it at all actually.
And Telltale does not let us have nice things.
Same, I was like "nono, Luke will be back. He'll swim hundreds of miles to get family back, right? RIGHT?! FUCK ARVO!"
dying
Happy birthday, Lukey. ;-;
Kind of hard to do that if you drown to death.
I did too.
I cried too much.
You know, his death had me thinking. If he survived, would he be one of the people to go with at the end?
Empathy: Kenny
Humanity: Luke
Survival: Jane

Wait what?! Where is this?

Go to the thread titled "Wait, WHAT! (About Luke)"
It's in there.
I know but... but... I can wish okay?;(
Yeah, I saw that too.
FUCKING TELLTALE.
just seeing his body getting pulled down was weird and kinda disturbing.

Yes you can! But trust me, am just as upset as you are... RIP

Seeing him float lifelessly was more disturbing to me.
"I got lucky." strokes beard "Luckier than Kenny."
But anyway... At least he's with the cabin group now. And with Nick.
I've just played the episode and am too in shock to emotionally process this right now but all I can say is Thank You Nick Breckon for saving season 2, even if you did kill everyone I ever cared about
That good ol' cozy cabin in the sky.
At least Luke died like a hero. He saved Clem when the walker attacked her. Which makes up for his prior stupidity in my book.
Wait... I just realized... If Clementine dies, then... CLUKE CAN HAPPEN AGAIN UP IN HEAVEN OH GOD NO
Ah I know #RIPLuke I really wished he could have lived on to the end with Kenny, Clementine and Aj
