I think fact that they did all get to Wellington alive undermine "Kenny is insane" theory for others. Kenny was right after all, he found safest place there could be, and all other were simply wrong about Kenny (Jane, Mike, Bonnie) , so only party members who didnt undermine Kanny as leader were saved: Clem and AJ.
Plus, Jane was wrong about Kenny all along, his selfishness towards Clem and AJ starying in Wellington and him leaving to certain doom proves he wasn't selfish manipulator as Jane described him.
When did I say that? No, what Lily did was horrible, and I fail to see the point in comparing her to Kenny. They're two entirely different people with different problems. If you're trying to guilt trip me into thinking I made the "wrong decision", it's not gonna work.

Well excuse me for supporting my opinion against an offensively-worded one. I think that what Jane did is unacceptable, and I tend to lash out when I get provoked, so sue me. If anything you should be telling this to Peachy_Peaches, who flat-out called people who go with Kenny "insane", said we're supporting a murderer, and literally said our choice was the "wrong" one. THAT is rude, and I won't just sit by and let it slide, sorry.
I honestly kinda doubted kenny until the last scene at wellington. His speech just really got me and convinced me that I did the right thing by staying on his side. He completely redeemed himself and i was happy and sad at the same time to say goodbye.
I agree, but he isn't crazy, there's a difference. He has problems, but he's not insane.
"You know what's the definition of insanity? Rep… moreeating the same fucking thing over and over and over again, expecting it to fucking change!"
Vaas from Far Cry 3 said that, and he's right, Kenny isn't insane because he acknowledges his "insanity", he has problem sure, but who doesn't? With everything he went through, is it really unnatural for a man to lose it?
He didn't expect things to change, he knew he has made and will make mistakes, and he did the right thing, so even though he is off, and does have mental problems, he's not what you'd call "insane", he's more in a purgatory state of mind, he doesn't know what to do with himself, but he looks at his actions from a side view, and acts accordingly - with the master goal of getting Clem and AJ to a safe place, and he did.
I'm proud, to say the least.
completely agree with everything that you've said. I made the same choice as you in the end; respect Kenny's wishes and the sacrifices he made for Clem and AJ and stay at Wellington. I know Kenny was unstable, and hell he even scared me sometimes, but I genuinely believe that he will do everything in his power and what he thinks is best for the people he loves and cares about - and he loves and cares about Clem and AJ more than anything now, I think.
(By the way, on a completely unrelated note, I love your icon and bio, snk is absolutely amazing and Eren is a bae~~~)
My original comment was meant towards Peach, but I may have misreplied to you, but my opinion on it still stands, and it's more fact that there is no wrong decision because both are equally wrong. It's one of the things i like about this series, much akin to the older fallouts that had moral choices that never ended up perfect.

I had to stay with Kenny, after all he's done for me. The fact he was willing to be turned away from Wellington and be happy about it just so Clementine and AJ could be safe was enough for me. Bitten or not, I'm with him until the end.
Because in the end. I could no longer defend him. I stayed by his side for most of Season 2 but I no longer knew who or what I was defending anymore.
I couldn't recognize him, all I saw was a runaway and troubled man, about to surrender to complete madness. Kenny has most of the blame for the fact that the group was gone. people were terrified by his explosive behavior. and rightly so. beating Arvo like that was wrong! the guy was no saint, but take a Carver-like-beating on him, would not solve anything, on the contrary. it made the situation even worse..
When Lee said to me: "- Sometimes you need to do the right thing, even if it means hurting those you love." I felt that this was for Kenny, I really loved him. but I felt in my heart that at some point I would have to stop him for good.
Jane has flaws like every human-being. both Kenny and Jane made serious mistakes. but at least Jane gets to the point and does what needs to be done. without crazy exasperation and without compromising all the people around. after all she went through, she didn't lose her sanity, and she is no longer that cold and distant person we met at the beginning. because of Clem, she has changed.
She taught me more in one episode than all the characters of S02 combined! she IS a valuable person to have as a companion in a post-apocalyptic world.
I really like the Big-sister/Little-sister relationship between the two. and I think both will benefit from it. Plus. we now have all Howe's Hardware complex at our disposal. a strong and solid place to raise AJ. with much of the supplies and baby formula still intact and a newcomer family to help us re-build the place and share it as well.
I saw and loved the end with Kenny. and I think that is the most beautiful end. but, unless you choose to stay in Wellington. I don't think going back with him is the safer end for Clem and the baby. Kenny himself admitted that he was no longer able to care for two children.

They said you could check back in in a few months to see how things are going. I figured he'd want to do that, maybe even just see if he can also come inside every now and then to see how Clem's doing (if they allow a 'family visit' sort of thing).
It's not something I think many people will like but I think after the leaving Kenny outside of Wellington ending he probably just went off,… more sat down and waited to die. Because really, he's protected the last two things in the world that mean something to him and then he probably felt at peace with dying and seeing his family again.... Then again I'm probably completely wrong and he'll be in season 3 or something
After all he's done for me, I wanted to do one last thing for him:
Make sure AJ and Clem are safe.
I see why most people would stick with him, but I did what he asked me too, it's practically a dying man's wish.
And as I've said before, the baby can't survive in the worst part of the winter with a think blanket as the only thing to wrap him and no milk left, and I doubt one of those bags had a 4-5 month supply of milk.
Sometimes you need to face reality, Kenny knew it too, that's why he begged Clem to go, because he knew they would only be safe there, when they die out in the cold Kenny will be devastated, so I assured him the sacrifices and deaths weren't in vain.
It's also quite rude to lead your friends to their death so you and the baby could live a peaceful life in a safe zone, and then turn it away because you think it's "heroic", you have to consider other people's feelings too.
You don't have to be a dick mate. This is my choice and how I chose to play the game. "Sometimes you need to face reality." Sometimes you need to just accept someone's opinion as it is and not dispute it.

From the moment you called me a dick, I stopped taking your comment seriously, you clearly can't have a debate without thinking the other side is a dick, right?
I never told you what is right or wrong, nor will I judge you for your decisions, stop making false accusations and making me look like I forced my decision down your damn throat.
It's sad to hear, but it's true, sometimes reality is hard, and doing the right thing is hard, it's not clear which thing is the right thing, but I know now that they're 100% safe and Kenny can rest.

I never started nor wanted a debate. All I said was after all Kenny has done for me, I feel I owe him and I'm with him until the end. I never asked for you to say "yeah well the baby can't survive, you're wrong, you need to face reality." I feel you're being a dick, I stated how I felt and how I'm going to play and didn't ask for your input, or for you to "consider other people's feelings." For the record, I am. That's interesting, Clem_Everett--I was sure I heard Lee say something different, and I found it, here in this video:
At about 2:38 he says "But part of growing up is doing what's best for the people you care about, even if sometimes, that means hurting someone else."
For me that pointed the other direction entirely. I thought Jane was OK--kind of a flake, but not a bad person. But I really cared about Kenny, and to me that dialogue was telling Clem that part of growing up meant helping Kenny get out what Jane called the "dark place" he was in. Of course there were two ways to do that--kill him so all his problems would be over, or help him through it. I chose the second one.
Of course if you cared about Jane but were sick of Kenny, the dialogue would have pointed you in the other direction. For me it came down to the head or the heart. Staying with Jane is probably going to be OK. There's a chance that she'll abandon you or choose someone else over you, but those are the chances we take. She's more level-headed than Kenny and won't stir the pot in every group. That's the "head" choice.
The "heart" choice is Kenny, who's a pain in the ass from the jump. He isn't going to change--it's pretty clear he was like that before the apocalypse, although I'm sure to a lesser degree. On the flip side, you know that whenever there's a choice, he WILL choose your safety over anything, including himself. That's obvious if you choose the Wellington finale: he doesn't even hesitate, he just says "please, just take the children." He even offers to give the supplies back--and he needs those, but he's willing to give up even that on the chance it will swing the pendulum even a little bit in favor of Clem and AJ.
So the reward is yours to choose. Take the "head" choice with Jane and you know you did the rational thing and Clem will be OK. But if you choose the "heart" choice with Kenny, your reward is a beautiful and redeeming resolution to his story arc.
I'll repeat a large part of my comments here:
I shot Kenny. and why?

See your point. Can't imagine him latching on to another group though but he also doesn't seem the type of guy to want to try and make it al… moreone... I don't know it's just, when I shot him during the fight with Jane and he died... He honestly looked the happiest I've seen him since Hershall's farm.
Kenny was out of control, I killed him. I kept ignoring that fact that he was getting more and more crazy over the season. When he tried to kill Jane, I knew he was lost. I was mad at Jane and left her. I don't trust people anymore.
You guys are defending Kenny? There was no way I was letting Kenny kill Jane. Her way of showing Kenny's insanity was a stupid idea, but it got the point across for me. Kenny was unhinged and he isn't what is right for Clem.
Holy fuck, I am actually crying from those gifs. DAMN IT. Also, I feel both endings are oh so fucking sad. But it feels like the ending where you go to Wellington is probably more logic, because Kenny IS a determinant now, so Clem and AJ will be as safe as Wellington is, but if you go with Kenny he will probably die. But alas, I just could not bring myself to leave Kenny, I just couldn't. #VivaLaMoustache
Kenny is a great guy and certainly want the best for Clem and the baby. his goal was noble, but the way he covered the distance to reach the goal is what made everything too complicated. as I said before. I supported Kenny throughout all Season 2, actually. I spent all Season 2 trying to convince people of the group that Kenny was fine and that he would improve his behavior. I believed in Kenny, and because of that, I defended him most of the time. like you said, I was leaning more toward the heart-path.
But things didn't improve, Kenny continued freaking-out. things that everyone in the group has always said to me, things that Jane told me, began to weigh more in the balance. and because of that I couldn't see a hope, a future alongside Kenny. it was like he was taking me to an icy and terrible death. and I didn't want to die, Lee saved me because he wanted me to live through him.
"But part of growing up is doing what's best for the people you care about, even if sometimes, that means hurting someone else."
Actually it doesn't change anything I said before. I just spoke it with other words.
Staying with Jane is probably going to be OK. There's a chance that she'll abandon you or choose someone else over you, but those are the chances we take. She's more level-headed than Kenny and won't stir the pot in every group. That's the "head" choice.
I don't think Jane will abandon Clem, not again. proof of this was that she returned to the group precisely because of Clem. and why? because Clem changed the way she used to saw the world and people. Clem showed a hope that Jane tried to suppress by what happened to her sister. For Jane, Clementine is like a second chance to redeem herself from that dark past. as well as, Lee redeemed himself from his past because of Clem.
The difference between Jane and Kenny, is that she didn't let the misfortunes of the past to leave her completely insane. she just became cold and distant. if Kenny had listened to Jane inside that car and had returned to the Howe's Hardware camp. none of this would have happened.

Greatly made AWESOMEO. Very well done. In my first playthrough I shot Kenny and left Jane. I felt like shit about it. So I did another playthrough and I went with the Wellington ending and it was very beautifully done. At that moment where Kenny was sacrificing himself for Clem's and AJ's sake, that was most noble thing I've ever seen him done. Plus it showed there's still some of the old Kenny but he knew that's too dangerous now and didn't want any harm over the children. That ending made me almost cry and really like him despite his horrible actions, this is coming from a guy who is neutral in siding with Kenny's ideas.

I kinda feel like insanity was the one who stared at Kenny in the eye.

That depends. In my story Jane was the one who knocked me over during the fight.
The initial plan was to go to the church. but the ambush of Russians changed all that ..
I would agree with you if Jane wasn't capable of ending the fight.
One word and the fight would be over, but even with the knife right in front of her face,
she refused to tell the truth.
THAT's my problem with her.
She could end the fight and safe Kenny life.
And if she did that I guess I would even followed her and not Kenny.
She didn't want to end the conflict.
Even though she says otherwise:
She was able to end everything, but she didn't.
So after all: She wanted it to end like that.
I'm saying your decision isn't the right or wrong decision, don't act like watching Jane die was the right decision or that anyone elses is the wrong.
He didn't win in my playthrough. He threw the first punch at Jane and tried to kill her. Because he was crazy.

Sry, the quality is so bad its hurting my eyes.
Nope.
Thank you Awesomo. Very well said.

You don't have to be rude.
I think she's safer in Wellington.
