As I said, the man has problems, he was crying and confessing he made a mistake, saying he's sorry and that he didn't mean it.
In the end, some could even say he's done a better job than Lee as a guardian, since he was aware of his incapabilities and he also knew that when you love something and want it to be safe, you need to let it go, even if it means you will die, because when you love someone (no matter if it's romantically or not), you put the individual's happiness and well-being above yours, and you do whatever it takes to make him/her content and safe, and that's exactly what Kenny did, even though he was on the thin limit between sanity and insanity, he came to senses, because Clem and AJ are the whole world to a broken man who's lost his loved ones twice, and just thought some woman murdered his adopted baby, and making him go mad and kill her all to prove to his favorite thing in the whole world that he is in fact an alleged psychopath.
So all in all, Kenny has had better results than Lee as Clem's guardian, notice I'm not talking about the person himself, which I think they are equal personality-wise, but at keeping her alive? Kenny has achieved better results.
Just saying, Lee and Kenny? Comparable guardians? Not in a million years.
I don't recall Lee calling Clem a "STUPID FUCKEN KID!" Or was that a part I missed?
I think fact that they did all get to Wellington alive undermine "Kenny is insane" theory for others. Kenny was right after all, he found sa… morefest place there could be, and all other were simply wrong about Kenny (Jane, Mike, Bonnie) , so only party members who didnt undermine Kanny as leader were saved: Clem and AJ.
Plus, Jane was wrong about Kenny all along, his selfishness towards Clem and AJ starying in Wellington and him leaving to certain doom proves he wasn't selfish manipulator as Jane described him.
Same here. I wanted everyone to be safe and sound and I shot Kenny, I couldn't have let him kill Jane. It sucked. This episode has shown that you can't be neutral no more. You have to stick with people that will take care of you and Kenny is an ultimate leader in taking care of anyone.
Thank you Kenny! Season 3 is gonna be far more interesting.
Greatly made AWESOMEO. Very well done. In my first playthrough I shot Kenny and left Jane. I felt like shit about it. So I did another playt… morehrough and I went with the Wellington ending and it was very beautifully done. At that moment where Kenny was sacrificing himself for Clem's and AJ's sake, that was most noble thing I've ever seen him done. Plus it showed there's still some of the old Kenny but he knew that's too dangerous now and didn't want any harm over the children. That ending made me almost cry and really like him despite his horrible actions, this is coming from a guy who is neutral in siding with Kenny's ideas.
"You looked after the children. That's what a real man does." - Kenny 102
So, we are just going to forget that, when we first met Mike, Kenny was about to beat him senseless, just because Mike was TRYING to help Ke… morenny work their assigned task??? So, bias??? Not really and AGAIN, they SHOULDN'T take people whom they cannot take care of. Why would you take a baby, knowing darn well that you are struggling way too much to survive yourself? It'd be selfish of you to then take that child, knowing that it may die, because of you. It's a lose lose situation, but their choice was not selfish. In the zombie apocalypse, choices get like that.
As far as giving him credit, he gets none, because they would've survived just as well without Kenny. Kenny was the tension in the group.

Sounds too far from being a good solution, I'm sorry, as much as I wanted to go with Kenny, I just couldn't let him watch them die.. I know the baby will :c
No, babies don't require breastfeeding to live, or even milk for that matter.
They, like all humans just need nutrients with enough protein… more and amino acids.
That means if those bags have any kind of food that isn't just (as in completely) spice, sugar or salt,
they can just smash it together with some snow into a paste that the baby can swallow and it's propably good enough.
Also, I hope you realize that the quote you attributed to Vaas is an Albert Einstein original...
Just seems very strange to name a game character as the source rather than the famous genius who actually came up with it....
Anyways, I chose to follow Kenny. He's family at at this point, and I'm sticking with him
for better or worse. At least I know who he is, and after Carver's crap, I'm not going to willingly put
Clem at the mercy of strangers again, even if it seems like a good idea at the time.
To me Kenny has been an amazing character. What the Kenny haters don't get is that this is as much Kenny's story now as it is Clem's or Lee's. He did everything in his power to stay strong.
In his past his father was cruel to him, at least it was treated as though that's what happened when he mentioned it. But it taught Kenny to be a better father figure to others and repel those around him who were dangerous in any way. He was right about a lot of his worries towards certain people, and other people he eventually made up with.
I look at Kenny and I see a very real man. Not everyone is going to be perfect. If everything that happened to him happened to me, I'd be worse. Perhaps not violent for it isn't in my nature-- but he is a man, a man who has gone this far and realized violence is the only way he can solve things when his angered words don't help. Sometimes people do nothing but scream in anger when they've lost something, and I'm similar in that way. He just screams at everyone until they can't stand him. But he still never turned to suicide. He never gave up. He kept trying because he felt he should. And that's more than I can say about a lot of people.
I wish Telltale had put more importance on other characters as well, but I love Kenny because he is like me. I love Kenny because he deserves to get something back after all he's given up.
So to me, folks can bitch and bitch about him all they want, or pick Jane over what I believe is a stupid shallow excuse to shoot Kenny... But I went with him, away from Wellington, and I mourn his death in the next season however it happens.
And Kenny isn't an exception, he never was. But despite his screaming, fighting and all of his flaws Kenny managed to redeem himself, to make sure his 'family' was finally safe. And isn't that exactly what he had wanted since the first episode of season 1? Kenny wasn't insane, he was a good man with a broken mind. Now that Clementine and AJ get the chance to live like regular children within the relative safety of Wellington's walls he can walk with pride knowing that he eventually managed to protect at least two of the people he cared about the most.
In hindsight, choosing to stay at Wellington was the easiest decision in the entire game. Because sometimes, when you truly love someone, you've got to take a deep breath and let them go.

I suppose it isn't. None the less I haven't regretted my choice so far. Kenny can make it out there while Clementine and especially AJ would have been exposed to so much unnecessary danger, while now AJ can be raised the proper way and if Wellington is as well stocked as it seemed AJ won't have to go without food.
In the moment, it's never easy, but I feel like I can stand by the ending I got and even feel some pride in Kenny and how he managed to keep these two children alive despite the circumstances.

The difference between Jane and Kenny, is that she didn't let the misfortunes of the past to leave her completely insane.
While I don't think Kenny is actually insane in a clinical sense, I agree that he's WAY off the deep end. But look at everything he's lost--and then look at what Jane has lost. I think Jane could definitely go to a Kenny place if more bad stuff happens to her, but at this point it isn't likely. And anyway, she acts out by disappearing, rather than going nuclear, so she won't do what Kenny does, that's for sure. She might disappear instead, even though as you say, it's less likely seeing that she did come back at least once.
I think it's great how one ending offered a rational and concrete hope for the future, and of rebuilding (Jane) and one offered less tangible hope, but much more of an emotional starting-over (Kenny). It seems all the endings were pretty satisfying, other than Clem being alone with AJ in the snow.
Kenny is a great guy and certainly want the best for Clem and the baby. his goal was noble, but the way he covered the distance to reach the… more goal is what made everything too complicated. as I said before. I supported Kenny throughout all Season 2, actually. I spent all Season 2 trying to convince people of the group that Kenny was fine and that he would improve his behavior. I believed in Kenny, and because of that, I defended him most of the time. like you said, I was leaning more toward the heart-path.
But things didn't improve, Kenny continued freaking-out. things that everyone in the group has always said to me, things that Jane told me, began to weigh more in the balance. and because of that I couldn't see a hope, a future alongside Kenny. it was like he was taking me to an icy and terrible death. and I didn't want to die, Lee saved me because he wanted me to live through him.

I stayed at Wellington, believing it would give Kenny a chance to feel redeemed. Guy has been through enough, and he should find peace knowing that he got Clem and AJ to safety.
I agree with everything you said, Kenny definitely looked insanity in the eyes, and he didn't back down. I cried like a baby, and I left wit… moreh Kenny, and I regret close to nothing. I am glad I did not choose Jane. Kenny will become Rick 2.0, calling it. I love how they are building Clem plus Kenny father and daughter relationship sorta thing. I love the endings, in my opinion they were both sadder and better than 105. Bring the hate. #VivaLaMoustache
I stuck with Kenny to the end. The entire group end sup using Clem...no one really cared about the Baby once Luke died. Only Kenny cared. … more He was messed up...but Bonnie, Mike, Jane...they were all cowards. Kenny didn't destroy the group. Their lack of working with him and the constant prodding did it to them. They rattled the hornets nest, thinking they wouldn't get stung...no common sense at all.
The man JUST lost Sarita, no time to grieve. The woman who he was entrusted to passes from the cold/the child birth/lack of ability to check on her because a bunch of damn crooks are holding them at gun point (Not saying they could have saved Rebecca but...she spent her last moments cradling a baby while a bunch of Russians are jabbering on about robbing them).
Luke dies and Kenny is the maddest about it.
Mike and Bonnie take the thief and become thieves themselves, trying to leave Jane, Kenny, Aj and Clem behind.

I cried like a little girl when Kenny told me to go to Wellington, it showed me how much he cared, how much he ALWAYS cared. That's why I refused to leave him. I don't care that it's safer in Wellington, I'm sticking with the man who lost everything because I care for him as much as he's cared for me. I am SO PROUD of My Clementine!!!
I completely understand where you're coming from, but I just couldn't, I couldn't leave Kenny to be on his own with a good conscious, despite his request for me to listen to him one last time. I firmly believe that, the survival rate of Ken is lower if he doesn't have something to live for, and with Clementine and Alvin, Jr. being in what he believes to be safe hands in Wellington, what does he have to live for? Ken doesn't have anything or anybody that we're aware of to live for, but with Clem and AJ, his priority is shifted to ensuring the safety of what's now his family, which in his case inevitably enacts his desire of the need to live for the sake of his family due to his tending and admiring nature. My benevolence for Ken outweighs my desire for what may or may not be a refuge to rest in, in Wellington.
Luke:What's the most important thing in this world? What does everyone want? Even the gangs. What do you think they're all after?
Clementine:Family.
Luke:It's a tough world out there without people you can trust.
My Ken is family to my Clem and I trust him wholeheartedly, therefore he's important to her, and I can't just let that go, even if it's for the possible safety and security of Clem and AJ. Now, it may seem to be a selfish act on my part, but I'm also contemplating all of the different scenarios, and all throughout The Walking Dead universe, we're witnesses to groups dismembering due to different reasons, but it's usually for the reasons of an inward manifestation exemplifying itself as an outward expression. That's just my reasoning behind my thought process, which varies from player-to-player, understandably so; so I absolutely respect your choice and reasoning for it. I think that the choice to either stay at Wellington or leave with Ken is a wise choice regardless of whichsoever one you choose, a wiser one than that of choosing Jane over him, but of course that's just my opinion. No offense intended to anyone who chose the "[Shoot Kenny]" option instead of the "[Look Away]" one, therefore choosing Jane over Ken.
I just had to follow his damn death wish, they all died for them to grow and be kids! Be safe!
I had to make them stay, it's what Kenny wanted and honestly, I also wanted him to rest in peace.
"Kenny is lashing out in grief because his girlfriend is dying in his arms. Hey 11 year old girl, can you go talk to him because the two adults who are not tending to the pregnant one have no balls to?"
This was how all non "Kenny is scary" talk went with the party. The only one to really work with him, Was Rebecca, and that was because he knew how to deliver AJ, and Clem, who gasp talked to him like a person.
Do tell me Bro, if Kenny was true threat...how do you justify all of them entrusting Clem to look after him? Especially when they place their trust in:
A mousey Yes Woman who scouted out the party and got them captured.
An overzealous stranger who a few of their number says is trying too hard to earn their trust.
The crazy broad who keep using and ditching people. including the highly strung out and troubled kid who dies no matter what because the collective brain trust holding guns don't lay down enough cover fire...and her own sister.
The guy who has sex with said woman instead of giving the group time to secure themselves from a mob of walkers.
The skinny Russian kid who sprung a trap and caused the previously mentioned guy to die because leading them over the lake was likely an attempt to kill off some or all of his captors.
The pregnant woman who got them all captured in the first place (not her fault but Carver came for her, the rest were collateral)
Oh...right, they're all flawed. snaps fingers Darn huh. and the ones who don't die try to leave people for dead or shoot little girls for killing their zombie sister. who didn't eat him because Kenny pulled him away and used him as a hostage.
Wait..Arvo's life was saved by Kenny?
Mind=Blown
Also Jane saved Kenny in the beginning. Which shows that they had the potential to work together, as was also proven by that nice night that Arvo ruined with his screaming...understandably so...but...the group was flawed because....they're all a bit broken and didn't bother to see if they could fit. if they did work with Kenny, like we did in Season 1...they might have realized that maybe he wasn't such an ass.
But they all have been running away since Carver's camp. No Going Back...fitting huh?
Yeah, in terms of favorite endings, mine will always be the one where Clem stays behind in Wellington. Clem and AJ are finally safe (as far as we know), while Kenny walks over to the horizon to an unknown future.
Oh he is crazy. Rick Grimes crazy. But leaving him outside Wellington is a satisfying conclusion to his story. He leaves knowing that for on… morece he protected the people he cared about without them dying on him. And its fitting that someone from Season 1 lead Clem to safety.
Well, let's keep in mind we still don't know what kind of community Wellington really is. The moment those doors closed behind Clem and AJ, they could have been faced with a Nazi-style death camp.
Yeah, yeah, I know. Getting a little too pessimistic there. But the point is, NO path is ultimately 100% "safe".
I stayed at Wellington, believing it would give Kenny a chance to feel redeemed. Guy has been through enough, and he should find peace knowing that he got Clem and AJ to safety.
And when Kenny and Clem went away from Wellington in the snow...
I felt like Lee was walking with them, next to Clementine.
He would surely be proud of her. After all the thing that happened, you ended up being just you and Kenny, and it's like season 1 all over again. You never should betray the people you love, even though they are considered crazy, dangerous or useless. As Luke said, family is the most important thing in the apocalypse. Family means hope, and hope means survival.
After Lee's, Omid's (and Christa's?) deaths, Kenny is the only family Clementine can have.

Yup! That's why this game is so fascinating. the writing is so well built and well finished. the endings are all beautiful in one way or another, and there are multiple ways to interpret everything. TT always does a great job!!
I'm curious to see how they will connect it all back! ;D

You didn't betray Kenny if you stayed in Wellington, you followed his last wish, and made sure that all the people died to get you there didn't die in vain.

He wants to meet his family again, you can't blame a man that wants to die after what someone like Kenny had endured.
"did nothing wrong"… more is rather putting it softly, pretending to kill a baby and breaking a man's heart, continuing to fucking kill him afterwards isn't a good thing. She knew he was going to fucking snap, yet she pushed his buttons, she practically asked for a fight.
And I don't care if it proved a point, some points have no need to be proven, and there are more humane ways to do them.
One more thing, don't tell us if our choice was right or wrong, because those terms mean different things in every individuals' own eyes, what I did right might be the wrong thing to you, and vice versa.
I simply could not bring myself to stay at wellington without that big lug. Kenny got beaten to a pulp for me and in the end he tried to make the ultimate sacrifice for me. I couldn't just let him go it alone me and an were all he had left in the world plus no settlement in twd is ever safe for the long run.

Very well said! I love Kenny for all his flaws and abilities. He's a complicated, yet well rounded character who will do what it takes to protect his family. Sure, he hasn't always done the right thing, but then again, who does?
Comments
I didn't say he's insane, I said he looked insanity in the eye and told it "not today", he acknowledged his "insanity", therefore, not going insane.

Kenny looked insanity in the eyes and insanity stormed off when it realized Kenny had just stolen its job.
Good. Work.
I completely understand where you're coming from, but I just couldn't, I couldn't leave Kenny to be on his own with a good conscious, despite his request for me to listen to him one last time.
Luke: What's the most important thing in this world? What does everyone want? Even the gangs. What do you think they're all after?
Clementine: Family.
Luke: It's a tough world out there without people you can trust.
"Clem, go talk to Kenny..."
"We need Kenny, Clem, could you.."
"The baby is coming, Clem, get Kenny..."
Oh...right, they're all flawed. snaps fingers Darn huh. and the ones who don't die try to leave people for dead or shoot little girls for killing their zombie sister. who didn't eat him because Kenny pulled him away and used him as a hostage.
Wait..Arvo's life was saved by Kenny?
Mind=Blown

Best ending. Really.
Yup! That's why this game is so fascinating. the writing is so well built and well finished. the endings are all beautiful in one way or another, and there are multiple ways to interpret everything. TT always does a great job!!
I'm curious to see how they will connect it all back! ;D
..and yeah. "completely insane" was an exaggeration on my part. sorry!
Insanity is a legal term, not a clinical term.
Well, obviously he's not insane in the legal sense since he's a cartoon But you're correct.
You didn't betray Kenny if you stayed in Wellington, you followed his last wish, and made sure that all the people died to get you there didn't die in vain.
It's funny, I agree with you that it was the easiest decision... but I picked the exact opposite of you. I just couldn't and wouldn't leave Kenny. I love Kenny too much... =(
It's understandable.
She didn't 'pretend to kill a baby', she claims it was an accident and Kenny assumed she killed the baby.
Revives this thread because it's absolutely golden.
You never know though
;D
Best fucking thread ever.
Very well said! I love Kenny for all his flaws and abilities. He's a complicated, yet well rounded character who will do what it takes to protect his family. Sure, he hasn't always done the right thing, but then again, who does?
