Well played, Telltale. Well played. SERIOUSLY!

  • That's a great review of the situation. Myself in my first run through, I killed Kenny cause by then he scared me. I even said 'I can't get through to him anymore', I was scared when he came through the fog in the end. I stayed with Jane cause I feared to be alone, and as Lee (god I miss him, my favourite bit of the episode bar the ending) always wanted to try and make the best of the groups we were in and make them work. (I invited the people in as well.)

Honestly though, the ending with Kenny was better and getting to Wellington (I left him behind). He was dangerous, I told him that, and the only way to be in a group with him would be to be alone with him, but that ending, you saw the good in him, one last time, and it even tears me up thinking about it now. That's not the situation I would have chosen though, and I'm sad it ended the way it did between me and Kenny.

  • Oh, and if you replayed the episode for the ending you liked, you cheated :P

Just imagine this scenario. Player shoots Kenny and regrets their decison..

Jane I'm sorry Clem. I just wanted you to see who he truly

Clem So you made me kill a friend just to prove a fucking point? Just wait until I replay the episode you psycho bitch!

Jane CLEM NO, U DNT WANNA DO THAT!

Clem OH YES I WILL, I'M AT THE MAIN MENU AND IM GONNA REPLAY TO LET KENNY KILL U!

Jane CLEM STAHP, I DID THIS 4 U!! CLEM NO!!!

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...

    Kenny I'll fucking kill you!

    Jane X_X

    Clem Psycho bitch!

  • How so? Lol

    Not really.

  • I remember playing the ending where you go with Kenny to Wellington. It felt so wrong Jane just died for nothing. And if Kenny would've heard her out, we could've left her. She didn't need to die Ken :'(

That ending was the most emotional out of all the endings though.

  • People who rewind are idiots. They should base their decision in the moment when kenny decided to kill Jane for simply not being able to keep the baby alive. Only the first playthrough matters.

me: fuck that. u knew kenny would go that far.

anyways, my opinion is, that towards the end of the game, i really just wanted both of em dead. like srsly, they were both insane. kenny i dont really need to explain why. jane put her, mines, and ajs life in danger just to prove a point.

    just stating my opinion.

  • Kenny was a real asshole, but he didnt deserve to die, not until he tried to kill Clems friend for no proper reason.

I never played the ending where Kenny kills Jane, but all i've seen about it makes me think it sucks. It makes this unstable murderer look like selflessness saint, who is clearly isnt. If you do 10 bad things, 10 good things wont make up for the bad things. In the end, kenny is selfish, irrational murderer, who doesnt care about other humans, except those who are very close to him and always agree with him.

  • I would actually say that Jane and Kenny are both awesome and fucked up in their own way :)

In my mind, the Jane choice was more on the rational side of the spectrum (she is fit for survival, she isn't messed up to the point where you could be afraid of her, she proved her point - even if it was in a stupid way) and the Kenny choice on the emotional side of the spectrum (we knew him the longest and he was therefore almost family, he was a friend of Lee's and our last living tie to him, we witnessed what he went through to make him messed up so it's easier to feel sympathy for him).

I ended up shooting Kenny, mostly because I couldn't just do nothing while he was murdering a friend. And I stuck to my choice (I would have anyway, but I felt it was the right one for #MyClementine) because it felt like the rational one once my brained had cooled off from all those emotions.

I would've preferred going with Luke.

  • He often comes off as that yeah, but he never got or Katjaa and Ducks death, and never really got into the swing of what it would be like in the apocalypse. In Season 1 it was a good idea of his to go and get on his boat and wait out at sea- but I was thinking all the way through 'there isn't going to be any boats there, it would have been robbed'.

He gets fixated on ideas, and this was before his family had died. After that he was really unstable and would crack at any minute. Rinse and repeat in a way with Sarita in Season 2. He went through some bad stuff and did not come out a better man. He lacked any real judgement and wouldn't change from his stance for anyone- sure it worked out fine sometimes, but when it didn't I'm sure he would balme everyone else under the sun rather than his own idea.

The bittersweet thing was that he saw that though. After you shoot him he says that to you. That's the real heart breaking thing. When Lee said you had to hurt some people for those you loved it doesn't mean you doesn't mean those you hurt you don't love as well.

  • Definitely agree on that. I just couldn't let him kill Jane like that though, I couldn't stand the thought of continuing on with him after that. Jane might be stand offish and cold, but I don't think she would flip out like Kenny and be a danger to the group as a whole.

  • I know. I hated Kenny for driving away some of Clementine's close friends and always fucking up then apologizing. I get tired of that.

He even says he lives for that baby, not for Clementine.

That's what guys like Lee understood, without the kid, there's nothing to live for anymore. --> It went something like that.

  • Very good thread. I agree with everything you said.

Jane all the way! and Luke. if he hadn't died. :.(

  • People who rewind probably want to see how it all plays out from the other side.

  • I like how you compare the Jane choice to the rational side and Kenny to the emotional side, because that's really what it comes down to. Jane may have hid the baby, but at the time, we didn't now that. Jane could've accidentally lost it or something and Kenny was just trying to murder her. I'll say it again I love Kenny and Jane, but I think Kenny's time was up. He has been through so much shit, and I don't think he was sane anymore. He even admitted that he wasn't sane and that he was unsafe to be around. Jane is manipulative, but she was doing it all to protect you. I would've let Kenny kill Jane if she actually killed the baby, but I didn't think she did.

  • I agree, Kenny is like an abusive spouse. He wrongs you, begs for forgiveness, and then does it again. The relationship with Kenny went as far as it can go, and it was time to move on. Also to the OP, Kenny may be insane and irrational, but Jane definitely has her own faults. She manipulated Kenny into attacking her and then got into a situation where you had to kill him. I'm not saying Jane was wrong about Kenny being insane and a ticking time bomb, but she really should've thought out her plan a little more.
