Nick was amazing. Especially if you went with him instead of Pete, and the way he talks to you in carver's camp. "You mean 'us'? We're a family together, Clem."
Pete - first time I saw him I thought he would turn out to be the 'mean guy' for some reason, he just seemed to have this tough facade going on but then after talking to him I discovered just how wrong I was, he was one of the nicest group members because he was; friendly, trusting and reasonable. He suggests Clementine should see Carlos first before they decide to do anything hasty which seemed reasonable to me, I understand that living in the appocalypse you can't really trust anyone however he was the nicest in my opinion.
Luke - when I first saw him I thought 'heh he's cute but is he a jerk?' He seemed friendly enough (before he drops Clementine) and I actually thought 'wow 2 nice people, what's gonna happen now?' When Luke dropped Clementine at first I thought 'so he is a jerk' but then I put myself in his shoes and well if you were carrying a girl who was weak and had a bite on her arm you would be scared that they would randomly turn on you. After the 'incident' and when he tells everyone off I immediately liked him (and chose to look to him for help) and when him and Clementine were talking at the table he became my favourite character, he was funny, friendly, caring and a good listener; to take the time to listen to a little girls story and actually care enough to get to know her I just really liked him and hoped he would be around for the whole season, I didn't want telltale to kill him off like they do to most of the nice guys (like Pete)
Nick - I didn't really like him at first, he seemed too 'trigger happy' and irrational for me, I didn't like how harsh he was to Clementine (an 11 year old) but I understood he was only trying to protect the group I just wished he was a bit more gentle with Clem like how Pete was. When Nick apologised to Clementine I respected that, it must have took a lot for him; a grown man, to apologise to a little girl and what he did didn't seem like it was enough for me to hold a grudge against him, he was just quite short tempered like Kenny.
Alvin - He seemed like a nice guy but he couldn't show it because he didn't 'wear the pants' in his relationship, I understood where he was coming from, you never want to upset a pregnant lady. If you chose to go towards the side of the house you can talk to Alvin and he can actually help you, which I found quite sweet, out of everyone him and Sarah were the only 2 who tried to help Clementine so overall I saw him as a good guy.
Sarah - I wasn't quite sure what to think of her at first, she seemed too friendly, but after thinking about it I realised how hard it must be for her, she was probably quite a social person and enjoyed making friends, it must be hard living for 2 years with no one your age around to socialise with and when Carlos revealed he sheltered her I knew why she acted the way she died was because she was oblivious to the horrors or the world, she didn't do anything wrong for me to dislike her so straight away I liked her and became friends with her because I saw no reason not to
Carlos - He seemed quite reasonable (until he thought up locking Clementine in the shed) he was nice enough and was more 'gentle' to Clementine than Nick and Rebecca were. He was like the voice of reason and acted as the leader (to me) of the group, he called the shots for what the did to Clementine and everyone obeyed (even if they didn't want to) when he warned Clementine to stay away from Sarah I didn't like that very much but when he explained Sarah would 'cease to function' if she knew about the world I understood he was just protecting his daughter and I thought that was cute.
Rebecca - she never trusted Clementine in episode 1, I didn't exactly like her that much until after I played through the episode, that was only because I knew that her hormones were probably just all over the place and like Nick I thought she deserved another chance.
I just keep thinking about Carver's line when we first met him.
Carver: Well no offense, but I'd guess that wasn't them. 'Cause the ones I'm lookin' for are very careful people.
A little over a week after, they're all dead. Careful. Yea, they are...
Alvin: A nice man. Helped Clementine when he first met her, and cares deeply about his wife and unborn kid. He's a tough guy, since he was willing to stay behind and buy the others some time to get out of Carver's camp. My 4th favorite character from the cabin group.
Carlos: A good man. He checked Clementine's arm when they first met, but didn't want to help her, and would've let her stay in the shed and bleed all night. He cares very much about his daughter and of course he do, since he's her father. My 6th favorite character from the cabin group.
Luke: A nice man. Didn't believe Clementine when they first met, and he didn't like the idea of locking her into the shed. He's like a brother to Clementine, after they got to know each other a little more, and he saved Clem's life a few times, but put her in danger some times too. He sacrificed himself to save Clementine, by grabbing the walker under the water, which pulled him down and caused his dead. My 2nd favorite character from the cabin group.
Nick: We'll have to get to know Nick before he becomes friendly. He lost his mom, and would protect his friends after that. He almost shot Clementine in the face with his gun, even though he knew she was still alive. In the start he was just an asshole, but he became friendly in episode 2. He can screw up some times, and regret it after. My 5th favorite character from the cabin group.
Pete: The nicest man from the group. He trusted Clementine when she told them it was a dog bite, and told the others to calm down and they would've done the same if they was half as tough as Clementine (sneaking and stealing from the group). He saved Clementine's life when she got attacked by the walkers and was maybe the most friendly character from the group. It's a shame Telltale had to kill him of so soon. He would have been the best. My favorite character from the cabin group.
Rebecca: A good enough lady. Didn't trust Clementine in the start, and asked Luke and Pete why they didn't put her out of her misery in the start. She then apologies to Clementine in episode 2 and lets her listen to her baby. In episode 4 she says that Clementine is a good kid and she's family, so Rebecca trusts Clementine in the end, and that's good. My 3rd favorite character from the cabin group.
Sarah: Sweet little girl, but can't live without her father. She was annoying in the start, and in the end. Had to accept her friend request, since i thought she wouldn't help me otherwise. I chose to save her at the trailer park and at the observation deck, but she died anyways, and i felt nothing. I didn't like her from the start, and she would only cause troubles, like Jane said. My least favorite character from the cabin group. (Sry Sarah lovers)
Luke- Could've been handled a little better, but I think he's a likeable character.
Pete- Why do all the really calm civilized people have to die? (Other example: Mark)
Rebecca- A little bland, but not too bad.
Nick- As much as I like Season 2, I did hate it when he was thrown to the side. Seriously, I was starting to sympathize this character, and then they were like "too bad".
Carlos- This guy was an asshole. (Examples: If he was a doctor he'd know the difference between a dog bite and a zombie bite and he would know that a wound will get infected if it's not treated in time. So locking her in the shed won't do shit. Next, he's calling Clementine part of the group but like a day later he's like "Clementine shut up. The adults are talking."
Sarah- I didn't mind her, but I can see why others find her annoying.
Nick was amazing. Especially if you went with him instead of Pete, and the way he talks to you in carver's camp. "You mean 'us'? We're a family together, Clem."
He doesn't necessarily say that she's family to him - but it's definitely implied.
"You think he'll be coming back for us?"
"I think so. He'd never abandon you guys."
"Us guys, you mean."
I didn't care much for them at first but now that they're all gone, it makes me sad. I wish at least Luke would have lived till the end, Telltale still could've had the Jane Vs. Kenny thing and still had Luke...
I am not going to go into details as many forum members has already done it soo well. But I want to add that while I like the Cabin Group, they could have done it better. I sometimes wonder if Kenny haven't been in Season 2, they would have focused on the Cabin Group more. Not that I didn't want Kenny in Season 2, I am just saying.
I know the Kenny-haters love to go on about how Kenny took away much-needed screen time from the other characters. The problem is, Telltale decided to introduce the cabin group as paranoid savages, and the player wanted nothing to do with them almost right off the bat (at least I certainly didn't). Luke was a spastic flake, Nick was a trigger-happy dolt, Rebecca was a hormone-drenched uberbitch, Alvin was well-meaning but spineless, Carlos was an incompetent brute, and Sarah was just creepy. Pete seemed to be the only member of the new cast who was even remotely likeable, and he got bit in the last two minutes of episode one.
Granted, we don't know much about the circumstances these people have gone through, but that's the real issue: We've accompanied Clem and Kenny from almost the very beginning of the zombie apocalypse, whereas we barely get to know the S2 cast before they're stuffing us into a cold and none-too-safe shed. These people are ALREADY desensitized monsters without the player/audience knowing HOW and WHY they became desensitized monsters.
Episode 2 may have been criticized for the abrupt shift in characterization, especially in regards to Carlos and Rebecca, but there was a good reason behind this. I think Telltale probably realized they went a little overboard with the nastiness in part one, and felt they had to dial it back a tad.
Luke: My favourite by far and the one group member I was hoping would live. I´d have picked to stay with him over Kenny/Jane. Wasn´t meant to be, I guess.
Rebecca: Hated her at first, blackmailed her about the baby. Yet...started to like her more and more after Episode 2. Became one of my favourites.
Alvin: He was a good man who gave me a juicebox when I needed help. Didn´t bond too much with him because he died in Episode 2,
Nick: Another I disliked at first but quickly warmed up to. His Episode 3 role was a shame and so was his death.
Pete: Really liked him. Would have probably been my second favourite if he hadn´t died at the start of Episode 2. Went like a champ though.
Carlos: Didn´t care too much, but I tried to be cool with him. Had some memorable lines!
Sarah: Sweet girl that just wasn´t meant for this world. I saved her but tried to toughen her up by not helping her. Again, just wasn´t meant to be.

I adored the cabin group. I wish the writers had spent more time on developing and fleshing them out more. There was so much untapped potential in all of these new characters. I'll give my individual perspective on the characters below.
Luke - My favourite character of season two and one of my favourites of the entire season. Shocker, right? I identified a lot with Luke throughout the season - he tried so hard not to turn out like Carver did. He was leading his group, but he wasn't going to make the same decisions Carver did. He wanted to survive, but he also wanted to remain himself. He didn't want to kill unless it was absolutely necessary, and he looked out for his loved ones. He was like a big brother to my Clementine. Their banter was hilarious and paralleled well with how a lot of siblings interact ("Keep your voice down!", "But you just yelled at me!", "Shut up!"). He messed up sometimes but he genuinely had a kind heart and cared about Clementine. He deserved a lot better. I wish I was able to walk off into the sunset with him, but alas. The cards were just not in my favour. Or his.
He had a lot of potential for season three. I would have loved to see him holding AJ, nervous as hell about not holding him right or not understanding what he wants. AJ would be his last connection to the cabin group - a lot of loose ends could have been tied up with Luke's presence in the story. He could have told us more stories about them, fleshing them out even further. One thing that I will say about his death is that it parallels the way he was introduced - saving Clementine. I loved him from the first episode and I will always appreciate that he remained such a good guy till the end.
Nick - My second favourite character of season two and one of my all time favourites. He probably had one of the most realistic and interesting character arcs this season - he was also on his way to becoming a very well developed character. His depression and anxiety after losing his mother has caused him to act impulsive and sometimes irrationally (I attribute his trigger-friendliness to him not being able to save his mother in time). He was a friend to my Clementine, and I would have loved to see their relationship develop more into a sibling bond. One of my favourite scenes in the series was when Clementine was stuck in the cellar with him. He had a beautiful, heartbreaking monologue that really encompassed the futility of their efforts and the season. I did like where his relationship with Clementine was going.. the last private conversation he can have with her is when he admits to considering her as part of the group. It was a sweet moment for me. His potential and character was absolutely wasted and he had one of the most ridiculous deaths I've ever seen. RIP Nick. You, like Luke, deserved a lot more.
Sarah - She wasn't my favourite, but I sympathized a lot with her. It's hard to grow up in a world like this and to have to survive after losing her father. Carlos was everything to her and despite what you think about his parenting styles, they genuinely wanted to protect each other. I would have liked to spend more time with her after her father died before she was written off.
Carlos - Like I stated above, he had Sarah's best interests at heart, which I will always completely respect. I make a lot of jokes about him and the things he says ("How big is it?" comes to mind when Clementine is looking at a small house), but it's a little sad to think that there was hardly any mention of him after his death. I was sad when he died. Sadder than I thought I would be.
Rebecca - I didn't like her at first. I thought she was being too harsh on an eleven year old girl who was only trying to stitch up her arm. Then I started sympathizing with her, looking at the situation from her point of view. She's probably seen just as much death as anybody in this game, and her first priority is her baby and the rest of her family (cabin group included). She was stressed out enough as it was, knowing the baby could be Carver's, so throwing in some random girl who's using their supplies will make it worse. I really warmed up to her in episode four. I'm sad she'll never see AJ grow up or be there for any milestones in his life. I'll make sure my Clementine tells him all about her.
Alvin - A kind man who I liked as soon as I saw that he wasn't opposed to helping Clementine (yay for getting the juicebox and supplies!). Again, I'll make sure to tell AJ about the sacrifices he made to keep his family safe for so long. He died a very heroic sacrifice that will not be forgotten.
Pete - A realistic protrayal of a father figure. I liked that his relationship with Nick wasn't perfect - he was harsh sometimes, but it was only tough love. He was there when Nick's father wasn't. I went with Nick so he died when Nick tried to shoot the walkers off him.
Peter Joseph Randall - . Seemed like a grandfatherly figure that really cared for his boys, Nick and Luke. He really didn't deserve his death. I liked him from the moment I met him. "Sometimes you've gotta play a role...even if the people you love hate you for it." =On Nick
Alvin - seemed nice but didnt appear to have much power anywhere (in the group overall or with Rebecca). I like that he gave Clem a juice box though. Wish we could have learned more. "I think this one's going to be a girl. I can feel it" -On the baby
Nick - Had the best character development of the cabin group. Always wanting to help his friends. Such a waste of potential overall after saving him in Ep. 2. Went out in an awful way after disappearing from the narrative. My Clem became good friends with him. "Hey Clem, thanks for not giving up on me." and "Luke he's becoming a danger to the group." -Nick about Carlos
Carlos - Most logical thinker in the group and most level-headed. Didn't like the complete 180 his character pulled though to instantly liking Clem after distrusting her for much of Ep. 1. "If she knew what was out there, she would cease to function" , -On Sarah
Rebecca - Another 180 character. Hated Clem then liked her in Ep. 4. Probably has something to do with her pregnancy. "I know it's gonna be hard. But at the same time, I already feel a little less lonely. Because I know that no matter what happens, I'll get to meet someone new." -On the baby
Sarah - Oh Sarah. Where do i begin? I felt bad for her because I was hoping that she could change. I wish Carlos hadn't sheltered her so hard. "I don't know why people have to be so mean. Like, even when I'm really mad I still don't want to hurt anyone..." -After Carver's punishment
Luke - Poor guy. The best of them all. If he lived through the ice lake like it was originally written then Ep. 5 would have been a lot happier. "Aw, I'm happy to see you to kid." -Comic book store
Overall: The arrival of Kenny took away so much from the cabin group overall. No one cared anymore about them because Kenny was back, an alumni from the 1st season. After ep. 2, Kenny took over much of the narrative and the cabin group was thrust aside. So much more could have been done with them.
Pete, Alvin, Nick, Carlos, Sarah, Rebecca, Luke

What can I say about the Cabin Group? With the exception of Luke and Pete, during the argument on whether Clem was bitten or not, I was uncertain about them. But after a while, I warmed up to them, but to be honest, Carlos was a bit too overprotective of his daughter (trust me, I know the feeling) so that docks him some points.
The others had their of faults, but in the WD who doesn't?
They were good people. And I am sad none survived Season 2, even though I and an assortment of fans wished otherwise.
I will remember them. They've earned my respect. Sure they weren't like the infamous Hotel Group when it all started, but I'm willing to let it go by the wayside. Ala near the end of Terminator 1 like Sarah Connor said about the few hours she had with Kyle Reese: In the short moments that I knew each of them, I befriended them a lifetimes worth.
We've accompanied Clem and Kenny from almost the very beginning of the zombie apocalypse, whereas we barely get to know the S2 cast before they're stuffing us into a cold and none-too-safe shed. These people are ALREADY desensitized monsters without the player/audience knowing HOW and WHY they became desensitized monsters.
But that's one of the critiques when it comes to shifting the story focus back to Kenny isn't it? Instead of really fleshing out the time we have with the new characters and letting us learn about each of them, there's more reliance on a pre-established character arc that we've already heavily explored in the first season.
I know the Kenny-haters love to go on about how Kenny took away much-needed screen time from the other characters. The problem is, Telltale … moredecided to introduce the cabin group as paranoid savages, and the player wanted nothing to do with them almost right off the bat (at least I certainly didn't). As many people have already said, lots of interesting ideas. Lots of wasted potential.
Pete- Quickly likable paternal figure. I never really viewed Luke as the group's leader, but I can see why they would look up to Pete. Rational, competent, but still showing some ambivalence about the relationship he has with his nephew. Would have liked to see more of him, but I could understand killing him in regards to developing Nick's character. So much for that.
Nick- One of my favorite characters by the end of episode 2. He feels more relatable than Ben ever did for me, because he isn't purely defined by his mistakes. He's depressive and violently impulsive, but he cares about Pete and Luke. He puts people in danger, but he owns up to it. He's one of the few characters to feel fleshed out early on, which makes it such a shame that he's immediately dropped from the story after his optional death.
Sarah- Another favorite character that had so much more potential. Of all the characters treating Clementine like a jaded adult, Sarah's one of the few to talk to her like a kid. She felt unique to this type of story, with her empathy and anxieties taking precedence over being another hyper-competent survivalist, and I loved the initial set-up of how her and Clem could have developed off of each other. Instead, she's killed off to cement Jane's nihilism and the group immediately forgets her.
Rebecca- Had one of the better character arcs, but we could have used more of a transition between her bitter distrust and sudden caring nature. There's an interesting balance in making her so aggressive alongside her acknowledgement of being reliant on others, but I'm on the fence in regards to her death.
Alvin- Inherently nice guy who's too meek to defend his choices. I would have liked to see more of that internal conflict, but he's written off pretty early. Better death scene than most of the group though.
Luke- Never really had a solid opinion on him? He essentially shifts between wanting to leave Clem in the woods and being the first to defend her; so I thought he was meant to be a good guy that crumbles under pressure. Then he traveled all the way to Howe's on foot to help his friends, but proves completely ineffectual; so I thought he was a deconstruction of someone attempting heroics in a cynical world. Then he has casual sex on guard duty and helps contribute to Sarah's death; so I thought he was a self-righteous git that puts on airs of being in control. Episode 5 tries to redeem him by letting him open up for once, but it kind of tainted my view of the character when his actions were all played off as a joke. Either way, his story ends as abruptly as the rest of the group.
Carlos- Again, hard to get much of a concrete opinion on him. I liked that he was actually presented as a caring, though potentially repressive, father, and there's some interesting implications of past violence on his part, but we're given very little interaction with him, and his death is heavily undermined by the misuse of Sarah's character.
Why do I hate the cabin group? They expect things from MyClementine. they threated MyClementine like shit.
Pete advised: Cut it off. It w… moreorked for a cousin. Once.
Rebecca advised: Kill it. I ain't cleaning up the mess.
Nick advised: If you get bit, you get put down. End of story. almost killed Clementine, says it was totaly uncool and wants forgiveness
Sarah advised: lets be friends.
Carlos advised: this bite could be from anything. I dont trust you. stay away from my daughter.
Luke be like: Drop it.
Alvin advised: Go away, ill get in trouble. There's nothing I can do. OK take this juicebox. now get out.
Alvin Junior cried.

Season 1 group was waaay better.
Overall thoughts: Pretty much dead. I'll miss Sarah and Luke.
Alvin- He's just awesome. Plain and simple.
He doesn't necessarily say that she's family to him - but it's definitely implied.
"You think he'll be coming back for us?"
"I think so. He'd never abandon you guys."
"Us guys, you mean."
Yeah, sorry mine was so inaccurate, I was tired. But yeah, it was definitely implied. He came along way from ep 1.
From favourite character to least favourite of the cabin group it goes as follows:
Pete > Luke > Nick > Alvin > Sarah > Rebecca > Carlos
Lol How is Rebecca pregnant, but clem is holding the baby O.O
Nick is a better character than Kenny.
Luke is nice
Rebecca was a bitch at first but now she's cool
Pete was awesome, shame he died early
Sarah was great, but hard to deal with
Alvin was awesome, shame his death sucked
And Carlos is a bad doctor.
You do realize that you've just confirmed your own status as a troll, right?
Same exact thing for me
I honestly liked a lot more characters than Kenny, with Nick being just one of them.
Pete, Alvin, Nick, Carlos, Sarah, Rebecca, Luke
Overall: The arrival of Kenny took away so much from the cabin group overall. No one cared anymore about them because Kenny was back, an alumni from the 1st season. After ep. 2, Kenny took over much of the narrative and the cabin group was thrust aside. So much more could have been done with them.
I was going to use a different image, i just couldn't think of anything else.
it takes a bit for your belly to become normal size after you have givin birth
100% agree
The red shirts of Season 2
I have a favorable opinion on Luke and Pete only. All the other cabin members I dislike.
But that's one of the critiques when it comes to shifting the story focus back to Kenny isn't it? Instead of really fleshing out the time we have with the new characters and letting us learn about each of them, there's more reliance on a pre-established character arc that we've already heavily explored in the first season.
Yawn. The only one i liked was Nick, and that was ruined in episode 2. The rest of them were pretty whatever.
Why do I hate the cabin group? They expect things from MyClementine. they threated MyClementine like shit.
Pete advised: Cut it off. It worked for a cousin.
Alvin Junior cried.
i don't care anymore. They're dead and they aint coming back. So fuck em.
