If you could change one thing

edited September 2014 in The Walking Dead

If you could change 1 thing from the game (except for Lee's death) what would it be? It can be an event like Nick's death, a mechanich like QTEs or anything else.

I would make Omid survive season 2 or atleast until S2E5

  • If i could change one thing i will change Luke's death.

  • Take Kenny out... Completely.

  • Keep Kenny alive and not determinant.

  • Why? he's an awesome character

    Take Kenny out... Completely.

  • Give Kenny and Clem immortal status.

  • You are the mind reader , aren't you ? :)

Keep Kenny alive and not determinant.

  • Taking Kenny out, and replacing him with Lilly. Bam. Instantly more interesting and wrought with potential moral dilemmas, chances of redemption, and interesting discussions. And best of all, no ruination of a great ending for Kenny, and instead focusing on a character who actually needed more development after having her story come to an end while her equal but opposite foil remained in the story as an important character.

  • I like Lilly but i don't know if i would replace Kenny for her.

  • Making Nick die in season 2 episode 1 instead of Pete.

  • If just one thing, not bring Kenny back.

  • I'd explore Sarah and Clementine's friendship a bit more and have her and her father's death be more meaningful. I'd also expand more on Alvin

To have the option to shoot enemies every time Clem has a gun. ie: Arvo, Bonnie, Mike, Jane. I think if a character is holding a gun, you should be able to choose to shoot it.

  • Because his arc this season was literally exactly the same, and frankly I feel he was shoehorned in late on due to fanpressure it seems hinted at Pete and Carlos were meant to have a lot of his role. Carlos changes personality so much over three episodes.

Also the writers were way to biased towards him honestly, I think they really thought the entire fanbase just worships him

So you want to be able to shoot Mike, Bonnie, and Arvo?

  • give nick some actual lines in episodes 3 and 4, i don't mind that he died, i mind that despite surviving two episodes(fine, 1.25 episodes) after determinately dying, he has completely no impact on the plot. Carley and Doug are both determent, but they both do a lot in starved for help and long road ahead, couldn't nick have been that?

  • They were? It was everyone vs. him since he was reintrodued mate.

  • Hard choice.

I want both Omid & Luke to live. They can replace Kenny because he shouldn't have really been reintroduced this season. His story was already over.

  • I would keep Kenny from becoming a determinate character.
The game needs characters that have seniority in the game, not just one.
For the writers to make Kenny determinate to me, is just lazy and unimaginative.
    No offense intended.

    He really isn't.

In fact the season really started going downhill once he came back into the fold. The only reason I liked episode 4 was because Kenny was placed on the back burner to more interesting scenarios and character dilemma's, not just Kenny's angst (although there was that one scene which had too much of his "wa-wa" monologue).

  • If I could change one thing it´d be: we´d get a Luke ending.

No, I´m never gonna shut up about that.

  • Luke's stupid...stupid....nose.

Look at that thing, you could stick a bunch of quarters up that fabulous Picasso nose of his and he'd still be breathing just fine.

Kidding, Luke's death. It sucked, it sucked so bad I was depressed for weeks afterwards [and still am] because of how sucky it was. I wish they'd just patch it over like they did Mike's death and leave Luke's fate unknown, instead of killing him with such a sucky death that sucked so much I think some of the deaths in the original Resident Evil 1 were better than what he got.

And if you think I'm joking, go take a look:

I mean the character itself is good, a good man that losses everything and slowly starts to become crazy.I wouldn't quit him entirely , maybe just give him less protagonism, or remove him from S2

  • Yeah but i wouldn't remove him from the game like he said, just from S2

  • Luke's death comes to mind but also I would want Carver to stick around just a bit longer.

  • Nick's death. That was horrendous.

  • This.

  • Seeing as Saving Lee isn't allowed, I'm going to say... the chance to shoot Arvo, or Mike, or Bonnie, or all of the above.

  • Removing Kenny from Season 2 so the Cabin Group could have some kind of importance. The guy was meant to die in S1. They never should have brought him back.

  • Yes.

  • I also would've developed the cabin group. I would've loved it if we had gotten to know Alvin a bit more and his take on the whole Rebecca/Carver situation. I also would've made Carver less villainy. He was really over the top especially with his whole "strong outlive the weak" philosophy. I mean given the power structure between him and Rebecca it seems like to me at least that he either raped her or coerced her into having sex with him and if that were true I would think that her husband would be a bit more understanding. I mean Bonnie did mention that Carver wasn't always like this so maybe she cheated on Alvin then but I just would've liked better clarification from Rebecca. I think it would've been a lot better if his madness was more subtle. Maybe if he was more like the stranger in season 1 and Clementine was developing some sort of Stockholm syndrome. I also really wanted to explore Sarah and Clementine's friendship a bit more. Sarah was such an interesting character and she would've been a great character had the writers really tapped into her potential. I think it would've been kind of cool to have a kid around Clem's age who is sheltered and not as tough as she is, who is naïve and nice and sensitive. Who wants to learn how to survive but can't because of her father's sheltering.

  • Nah I don't hate it, I admire the thing XD it's a nice nose.

  • Fix Determinant issues ie ) Sarah's death in Episode 4.

  • I'd make it so that in regards to Luke's death, doing the smart thing is treated as doing the smart thing.

  • They were? It was everyone vs. him since he was reintrodued mate.

But everyone else did something evil (often a bit random) and that left Kenny justified in everything. and then got another, hero sacrifice at the end, why not actually make Kenny lose it rather than re tread old ground?

  • I would have In Harms Way, Amid the Ruins, and No Time Left changed so that the Carver plot would go on for the whole season.
