Nah, the fruit cake was the guy who beat and yelled at anyone he didn't like the whole time. Jane was just reckless that ONE time, and she was right, in the end.
no one will understand unless they been in that hospice situation. Its not the death that is the hard part, its watching your love one get progressively worse and watching your love one wither to dust right in front of you, in your most helpless moment.

Are you kidding me? What kind of man sticks his hand into random, dark, evil looking holes? I'll tell you who! A sick individual being manipulated by a dog.

I can relate to what you're saying. I saw a loved one waste away from cancer.
You never forget that sight.
Nor the smell, of someone who is literally rotting to death.
Honestly, I'd say the smell is worse, cause even after the mental images lose their sting, that death-smell sticks with you forever.

Yeah my Ellie, passed away from stomach cancer at 22. It took her one month She was diagnosed in early April and died close to our birthday. Her birthday was may 26th, mine is May 21st.
Its been six years, and i still think about her every day.

I'd say Kenny is very optimistic. That was sort of his thing. He didn't want to give up, no matter what. I could give some examples, but I think you know what I mean (or at least I hope you do, because I'm seriously feeling really lazy right now). I mean, there have been times where he has been called delusional because of his optimism. Mental strength can be a part of that, depending on how you want to look at it.
As for fighting, I don't know if he was really exceptional hand to hand or anything, but he was certainly the best that we saw in S2, I would say. I think realistically what would make Kenny someone I would not want to fight is his ability to fight tooth and nail; you're going to get everything he has. He can take a lot of pain and keeps bringing it. I think with a weapon, he is a pretty dangerous guy.
Luke.
I'm just kidding (I'm not)
Joel by far.
And what are you talking about? "He's personable. He's very optimistic. He's extreeml… morey tough, both physically and mentally. And he's good in a fight, particularly in Season 2."
are we talking about the same Kenny? Optimistic? no. Mentally strong? no. Good fighter especially in season 2? no.
Still doesn't matter has anyone who's played TLOU knows that Joel can beat people to their knees, and/or unconsciousness, with 3-4 punches, and he can craft fucked up, serial murderer weapons and fuck people up with those.
Let's also not forget that, with his hearing, and stealth, he's practically an...AMERICAN NINJA!

I wasn't making an argument for Kenny over Joel, I was only responding to someone in regards to their opinion of Kenny. I don't know anything about TLOU.

Kenny not wanting to give up is called dedication, not optimism. Being optimistic is looking at things in a positive way. I can see where you're coming from, but it's not really the same thing.

I agree that he is dedicated... but he is also optimistic. I think his Wellington and Boat plans showed that. He didn't just have a skeptical "I hope this works" kind of mentality about his plans, he had a "this is going to work" type of mentality about his plans.
Optimistic: "Hopeful and confident about the future"
I say that fits Kenny pretty much to a T.
A rather large criticism of his character lies in the fact that some anti Kenny individuals found his optimism to be unrealistic/ dangerous.

His boat plan? Did you forget when he got pissed drunk and trashed the boat plan because he couldn't find another one? And that's before he even looked around somewhere else. And Wellington? I can't really say he's optimistic about it, considering he only wanted to be there so AJ could live a happy life.
Optimism isn't exactly about the future. It's looking at things in a positive way. If Kenny was optimistic, he would be like Omid.

So if I learned particle physics 10 years ago it doesn't mean anything today because I had previous experience with it?
Are you seriously comparing fixing cars to particle physics?
And it shows he's not stupid.
He does have some good skills.
And, it does take brains and skills to be able to fix something.
He isnt intelligent either.
So although you listed more cons of traveling with Kenny than traveling with Joel, you'd still pick Kenny?
Nah, it's okay. You can choose whoever you want. Just you put more evidence that Joel is a better traveling companion than Kenny.
Nah, the fruit cake was the guy who beat and yelled at anyone he didn't like the whole time. Jane was just reckless that ONE time, and she was right, in the end.
Joel's okay, but;
(He's actually my third favorite, but you get the point.)
Psychotic redneck hillbilly fisherman or psychotic extreme badass?
No they aren't.
I rather travel with this guy.
Who is that?
Is that a detailed sketch of James Sunderland from SH2? If it is, umm that guy has more problems than Joel and Kenny put together lol.
You don't know? Main protagonist of Silent Hill 2. He is so determined, he tries to find his dead wife.
Not more than Kenny bruh. I mean he is broke cuz he killed his own wife.
James Sunderland baby.

Definetly true bro. Watching them suffer is way worse than finding them dead.
Are you kidding me? What kind of man sticks his hand into random, dark, evil looking holes? I'll tell you who! A sick individual being manipulated by a dog.
Say the same thing for all SH protagonists! Goddamn it. You even SH bro? That means bravery!
I been in both situations. The hospice was the worst. Main reason why i went crazy and joined the army. I had to go.
I'd travel with Heather Mason and her sexy beam any day of the week!
So sorry about you bro. Hope you feel better.
Lel. I rather get all except Alex A.K.A Resident Evil character rip-off.

What did you do in the army?
Joel. If you form a good relationship with him, he will protect you. Plus, he is a better survivor than Kenny imo

Bad things
Like what position, unless you don't want to talk about it. My brother was an army medic and when he came back he acted kinda weird.
I'm sorry.
If it's any consolation, at least your loved one died relatively fast.
Mine took 2 years to die.

I disagree with what you said, but you deserve a like because of that gif.

Beyoncé
Probably Joel in real life.
In the game, Kenny. Only because Kenny is hilarious.
But for me, i'd pick both in one group.
Gonna have to go with Joel here. He has more experience having lived longer in a post-apocalyptic world and he's very resourceful.
