What do you want the next villain to be like?

  • Why do apocalypse survival stories always have to lean back on the cliché of their being a definitive "evil" source for the "good" to emerge triumphant against. As if to say "hey, it's as easy as this. They're bad because they're bad and they do bad things."

I want more than just a "good versus evil" directive if possible. I want more of a focus on internal conflict.

There's no hero, there's no villain its a world of ZA , where good people can do bad things..... where bad people can do good things..

  • I'd be entirely creepy to see someone having trouble speaking or even being completely mute. Many would consider him/her as a mentally ill, traumatized person you feel sorry for, but at the end we'd find out he/she is extremely intelligent, cunning and terrifying.

One idea for a villain could be Becca. After losing her sister, Shel, she is now more violent and ruthless.

Another could be a religious lunatic like Mrs. Carmody from the book/movie, The Mist.

  • What about far cry 4?

  • A woman.

Well, in reality, I'd like someone who lasts the entire Season, has some humanity in their personality, and isn't actually just constantly violent. Carver was too evil to the point that he didn't actually seem like a person.

Someone like Nate would be good too. Or hell, just Nate. An unpredictable, anarchic creep like him would help shake up the mood.

  • In a way, yes.
Someone, who like Rambo, has military training, who had very horrific combat experiences.

So the Stranger but more dangerous?

  • Well not that they are a member of the group.
But they are someone who the group meets at one time, perhaps during a dlc between Season 2 and 3, and then who starts to pick them off months later.
And since it has been months since they met the character, they have no idea who the culprit is.
Someone who watches them from the shadows, waits until one of them is either alone, or in a vulnerable situation, and then: POW!
In and out like a ghost.

Alter ego. It be such an unpredictable twist. Then you have a decision to kill them or spare them, since it's a member of you group

  • I'd like the next villain to rely more on psychological horror more than brute force. Maybe another Tavia-like character who seems nice but in reality is a psychopath. I want moments where you question their motives and wonder if they truly are "evil" rather than the game just straight up telling you. Sort of like a mixture between Tavia and Nate. Someone who's Clementine's companion who seems all there and is trust worthy but overtime grows more unstable and insane.

  • I wouldn't really class Arvo as a major antagonist. I want someone who is a traitor. Now I don't mean someone like Bonnie or Mike. I mean someone who is nice. Someone who likes Clementine, is nice, a survivor. Someone like Luke perhaps. Someone who joins our group like everyone else, but when it hits the fan, they betray us and almost get us killed. They're then tracked after perhaps stealing our supplies, you can either forgive them or you may have to kill them.

  • I don't want one particular vilain, in my opinion a civil war within a large community (Wellington, I'm looking at you) would be much more interesting than just an evil character for the sake of an having a vilain. We would have to choose a side before the war is declared and then, the opposite leader(s) would become the vilains. It wouldn't be black or white considering that the player would choose on whose side they want to be.

  • That sounds like Kenny...

  • Someone completely sane and reasonable, but prefers being alone without relationships. They would also only look out for themselves, and would double-cross anyone they came across.

  • True but Kenny has always had anger issues and I don't think he'd go so far as to kill Clementine on purpose, I could see him killing her in a blind rage by accident but I want a fan favorite someone like Luke who you wouldn't expect to be evil.
