Can we play as an adult male again please!

Playing as an 11 year old girl was lame and a waste of time IMO, but playing as a MAN you can do all kinds of things good and bad, stuff like beating other characters to a pulp and scaring them etc. Playing as a little girl with no depth and personality just ruined a whole season of TWDG!

Just think of all those great male protagonists and anti heroes that are in films and TV series and the first series of this game! But we end up having to play as a little girl. :(

  • IMO

    Key word.

  • I like playing as an adult but at the same time a kid too. I like playing as different people of all ages.

  • What about a adult female one?

  • Well maybe some of us wanted to experience the girlhood we never had. Is that so wrong? IS THAT SO WRONG!

  • Playing as an adult male is overdone.

  • Yeah!

  • TWD S1 wasn't better than Season 2 because it had a male lead character, it was just overall better writing, characters, and situations. Not like I wouldn't mind playing another season as an Adult Male or Female character, but I would rather just have Clem Clem. Oh and Clem didn't ruin Season 2. In fact nothing did. Season 2 was still awesome.

  • really, just an adult in general....i dont get why men exclusive but please nu kidz agin

  • Lets be honest, we want to play as a male to have the opportunity to get some booty.

Last time we were about to get some, but she got killed off before she could deliver on that promise..

Absolutely not. Whenever playing a game where you can choose gender. I almost always go for the female role first.

Saints Row the Third, Saints Row 4, Fallout: New Vegas, Dragons Dogma, Mass Effect 1-3, and Skate 2 just to name a few.

Ever since I've seen Kill Bill, I've always loved narratives that favor the "badass femme fatal" over the "badass action dude."

  • As a 28 year old army vet.

Playing as a eleven year old girl is so much fun. I really can relate with this character.

  • I think Telltale is building up AJ to be the new protagonist.

  • Carley was a really great and fascinating character, and it's disgusting that all straight guy players want to remember her as is "That hot chick I almost got to bang but then she died." Gross.

  • Nobody deserved it more than Lee, poor bastard should've at least got a quicke before it all went to hell.

  • I agree that playing as a child was limiting, narrative-wise, but I'm sick of male protagonists. I want a woman for Season 3. If not Clementine, then bring Christa or one of the other ladies with unknown fates back.

  • U srs?

    I was just joking.

  • He can't be a protagonist because they can't make such a big timeskip because of the comic's.

  • Yeah I miss playing as a character who can beat someone up.

  • Still they are in the same universe if Kirkman decides to end the zombie apocalypse in 5 year's than 6-10 year old AJ wouldn't work. Kirkman is the lord of this universe and he has the final say.

But the game and comics are different stories...

  • That would not suprise me in the slightest... lol

Just think of the extra small holes we could get through... think of the thin ice we could walk!.. we could still be ultra bad ass despite our age too...

    AJ for protag!!

I think Telltale is building up AJ to be the new protagonist.

  • Its 2014 gay being a insult is so 1980s.

5.99 DLC expected release date June 2015

What is funny is i could see a someone doing this, supporting this cause trying to get themselves included in the plot.

  • Playing an 11 year old girl is interesting in theory, but not so much in execution. I don't think playing as her "killed" Season 2, but it did limit a lot of possibilities, and also opened up a whole new batch of problems to work around.

There's too much stipulation involved with a protagonist like this, especially within a gritty world like TWD. As a secondary character, sure it could work fine, but as the playable protagonist? Not so much. Sure, you can think of some cool scenarios and gameplay situations that could stem from playing a little girl, but when you look back at it, would they really serve much more of a purpose than being gimmicks, or being a role that could have been easily filled by an adult character instead? In playing a little girl, the moments where it doesn't work far outweigh the moments where it does.

You run into a gameplay conundrum with a character like Clementine. How do you balance making something interesting and worthwhile to the player, while keeping it within the realm of possibility? The reason telltale breaks face quite a few times in Season 2 is simply because it's difficult to make a meaningful gameplay segments that can progress a story when your only vessel to the game world is a little girl. If this game played out like real life, Clementine would be sitting around doing fuck-all while the adults have all the fun. If she does do something in order to involve the player, it looks out of place or makes the adults come across as incompetent buffoons. It's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation.

  • Playing a young girl was interesting, imo - the things she couldn't do made the whole experience realistic and made me at least even more determined to survive by any means necessary. Playing an adult badass man is waaaaaaay overdone in video games. That said, I'd like to play a teen or adult (of either gender) in S3. Someone different from Lee and Clementine.

  • Most video game protagonists right now are male. It's so boring tbh...

  • @skoothz

I feel the same way. It's really sucks she seems to be remembered that way. -__-

  • Yay, another male avatar people can project their imaginative hero complex onto.

  • 28, well, I thought you were older.

  • I'm sure there are plenty of other games where you can play as a adult male

  • I liked playing as Clem but I do miss not being able to say and do things lee could do

  • Playing as an 11 years old girl is the new playing as an adult male.

  • I'm gonna be straight here in a typically Kenny fashion that I like to adopt when discussing the Walking Dead: this is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read! For a start, you say Clem has no depth and personality is rubbish- she does, and the best thing about the season is that YOU get to choose what person she ends up as. She not a ready made character, she's still developing and the whole point of the season isn't about blood and violence- its about deciding what person Clem will become; more like Carver, or more like Lee. For me, that's the whole reason why Season 2 is so good, because it gives you more choice over Clem's character. That's the beauty of what Telltale have done- they haven't just shallowly focused on killing zombies and gore. If you play games just for that rubbish, go and play something else- the Walking Dead has much deeper underlying themes about how the events of the apocalypse effect and change people. Although Lee was great, I think a lot of the reason he was such a good character was down to Clem- he had a duty to protect her from the harshness of the world and keep her innocence whilst also teaching her what she needs to survive and making the hard decisions to keep her and the group alive. Personally, playing as Clem is more fun and I will be very unhappy if the Walking Dead starts losing focus and becomes another moronic blood and guts game.

  • I saved Doug over her, so she never made a promise.

    MUHAHAHAHAHA!
