Can we play as an adult male again please!

Playing as an adult female would be the best, in my opinion, and Clementine as the secondary character with a personality based off of the choices in S2.

  • I think Clem would work better as a protagonist if the adults treated her as a child and you actually had to convince them you could do things and earn their trust, which is why I thought episode 1, though not the best, had a good set up. I also liked the idea that adults would be more hesitant to do things with a child present, or that Clementine could manipulate situations because of her opinion, like she did many times in season 1 and how she handled the situation with Walter in episode 2, she either got him to forgive Nick or made him make up own mind or just condemn him.

Which is why I didn't like all the adults suddenly trusting her and giving her action oriented roles that just made them look like morons.

I was more interested in Clementine's "political" sway with the group then I was with her zombie killing abilities. I wanted more interactions with the group, I wanted to see more choices to get people to trust or distrust you, I would have liked to see more choices like the Walter one, where you can alter group members perception against another group member, it would have been interesting to see that kind of thing, because the NPCs in these games always have a set personality towards other people, but they can change against you. I would have liked to see more NPCs relationships change with other NPCs. I just think there was too much focus on the action for my liking, though it was still very enjoyable.

  • I want an adult again, I think the gender is irrelevant. Christa seems like the most balanced we have left

  • I don't care who is protagonist as long as it isn't Clementine. She was much better deuteragonist. Though I would prefer to play as an adult yes.

  • PLEASE DON'T LISTEN TO THE OP!

  • -Molly voice- Actually, I'm not a brah at all.

  • Because fuck diversity.

Let's play as a grown man, like every other generic video game out there.

  • I would love to play as Christa.

  • I know im risking sounding like a broken record here but here goes anyway....

They could pull the game back ontrack with clem as protagonist in S3 imo, the damage was done in S2... it was to early to play her for a number of reasons...

But what is VITAL... and I MEAN VITAL!!!, is that we need to have a global need to protect somthing, this is the sole reason S1 worked so damn well.. and why I believe TT deserved such respect for not only creating a likable child character that wasn't annoying but that this character was globally loved by everyone who played the game..

This one creation set the ground for everything that came after... decisions meant somthing because we wanted the best and safest outcome for dear old clem, when lee got bit we just turned into "gota get to clem mode" if clem had not been there it would of meant nothing... this goes for most scenes and decisions in game...

This is where the core game lacked so much in S2.... we had nothing to protect... by playing clem we inadvertently toom her out of the story/game the way she was part of it in S1... it was vital core mechanic that caused many issues imo...

In S3 clem will be older so a lot of the S2 age issues should be a lot less but we NEED that want and need to protect again... weather thats AJ or something/someone else.. its soooooo important...

Personly the way they jumped from lee to clem I can't see them giving us a different protagonist for S3.... if they do S2 makes even less sence tbh... this is clems story now it has to be! Surely... but we or should I say the writers need to understand that this means clem is pretty much invincible, this isnt a problem as long as we get good character development and somthing that globally invests us into the story/game with somthing to protect...

Im personally fine with a change of protagonist, it could be refreshing but I just dont see it with how its played out so far..... and it would make it sacrilege what the did with clem and S2 Imo.....

  • play with Barbie dolls.

I was thinking Bratz. Way more adult-oriented.

    Great post!

This is how they needed to go with S2 if they wanted clem as protagonist instead of robo clem....

  • I'd rather play as Christa than some random male character who no doubt is going to end up serving as yet another father figure to Clementine, considering that her story is likely still going to continue in Season 3. And besides, Kenny wouldn't work as the protagonist, he's too set in stone personality-wise and background-wise for his leading role to work.

I don't mind Clementine as the protagonist again, but I'd rather they make her characterisation and role more relevant to her age and standing in the zombie apocalypse, and actually give her some development and story of her own.

  • Let's play as an adult female instead

A female protagonist written by a company that can actually write female characters adequately would be great

  • Well you said she wouldn't be able to do anything, I just proved she did do something. No mater how unrealistic it was.

  • I prefer Clem Lee was fun had his time I am not really interesting in playing anyone else but Clementine

  • Kenny can be protagonist, if we choose to shoot him maybe he survive this, she shoot him in the chest. or they can show story how kenny meet sarita, he survived.

  • We should continue playing as Clem- she is by far the deepest and most interesting of characters. However, throughout season 2 it was always two people arguing over a decision and then you would would chip in with your opinion and that would determine how other characters saw you- in season3, i want to see Clem suggesting solutions to problems more, and taking more a leader like role (obviously I don't want her to lead, but just to have more influence). Season 2 was all about making her character, without any real control of the plot- in the new season I still want to develop her character the way I want to, but I'd also like to have more control over what is actually going on.

  • Kenny didn't survive the gunshot, and plus bringing him back from the dead again would be too unrealistic. A dlc about about kenny would be interesting, but personally i wanna see a sequel to 400 days (i've already made a thread devoted to that discussion

Carley was a really great and fascinating character, and it's disgusting that all straight guy players want to remember her as is "That hot chick I almost got to bang but then she died." Gross.

  • Why can't it just be like Dragon Age/Mass Effect where you get to chose your sex your character. Everyone is happy. Then just cast either Shep or FemShep.

Yay, another male avatar people can project their imaginative hero complex onto.

  • I know, right? I feel so powerless playing as Clementine. :( I don´t identify with a little girl! I wanna be a big, macho buff guy who can eat walkers for breakfast and flirt with all them ladies so I can feel superior to everyone else! Like in most games today!

...Nah, I´d rather play the little girl.

  • Playing as an 11 year old girl was lame and a waste of time IMO

I stopped reading because I knew you would be hatin'.

They see Clementine rollin', They hatin'...

  • A kid girl

You're useing the wrong words, you're refering to the wrong person. Clementine is not just a "kid" anymore.

    wow it's so realistic...

It's not unrealistic in a zombie apocalypse

  • I want an adult again

    Ah grow up.

I want an adult again, I think the gender is irrelevant. Christa seems like the most balanced we have left

  • I liked playing as Clementine, too. Somehow even more than playing Lee, but I think that depends on personal prefers.

  • You could like, go play almost any other game...since ya know, adult males are the majority of video game protagonists already...

  • You can't convince TTG that Clementine should die and someone else should take her place. so please stop.

  • I notice a lot of people have been saying that "they miss being able to beat people up" and stuff like that. Well to them I say this: go and play some other shallow meaningless game that will satisfy your addiction for pointless violence. The Walking Dead is not great because of its action but because of the way characters interact and the way its deeper themes explore how living in a destroyed world can alter people. It explores all elements of our humanity. If you aren't educated enough to understand that, then go and play Manhunt or something like that which glorifies violence.

  • I'd also like to point out how sexist the argument for playing a male character is (and before I continue let me just state that I'm no radical feminist either). Shane talks about all the great male charactersnfrom the tv series and, yes, there are some great ones. But out of all of those characters my personal favourite is Michonne, who is as strong as any of those male characters if not stronger. And in season 1 of the game Carley was pretty good till Telltale decided to kill her off. Gender is irellivant- the real question is whether you want to play as a little kid or not, not whether you want to play as a male or not (for example, i'm pretty sure this guy would dislike season 2 as much as he does if he had to play as Duck!).

  • Me to everyone whos opinion I dont like: "you have the right to remain silent; that means shut up!"

Playing as an 11 year old girl was lame and a waste of time IMO I stopped reading because I knew you would be hatin'. They see Clementine rollin', They hatin'...

  • Give me a character that is like Ben's age. His personality as well. Male or female, I'll be good then.

  • I'm a straight guy and I picked Doug. Just sayin...

  • I would kind of like to play as an old guy for once. Like Pete. Pete would have been a fantastic player character before he bit it.

  • I don't care if it is a little girl or boy, man or woman, as long as the character actually has emotions and has development
