Just like how Lee isn't Clem's dad.

And to be honest, I really don't get why people are so suspicious of Randy for being aggressive/being armed in THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE(tm), particularly if Kenny's been given a lot more license to go on babyish tantrums. If your family is being denied food and shelter by a couple of selfish kids, then I'd probably threaten them too.

If he really was dangerous, he wouldn't have backed down. Besides, it's better to make allies with him rather than unnecessarily create a new enemy. Or fuck over his kid.

  • It really wasn't so much that I found any reason not to trust the family, it was just that Clem had just gone through so much, she and Jane had only just gotten to Howes, and here come more people, wanting in, making us to decide to trust them or not.. It was too soon.. My Clem needed time to breathe, take care of AJ, set up some defences and just be able to rest.

I didn't see Gill looking at Clem with 'sad' eyes, to me it looked more like 'i'm going to get you someday'.

Maybe the family would have been alright, but they're not my Clem's responsibility and it was just too soon to take another chance.

  • I really don't get how people read Gill as this conniving thief, considering how obviously sad his puppy-eyes make him. Telltale's not at all subtle with their facial expressions.

I remember some people equating Gill's 'cool hat' compliment to Michelle wanting to steal Clem's hat. Logic, what is it?

  • I should have specified the fact that it was concealed. Who needs to conceal a weapon in the zombie apocalypse?

  • Eh... I still wouldn't advertise the fact that i'm armed. Guns still pose a threaten look when a stranger has one in his or her hand. Maybe the guy wanted to seem less threatening, so he hid it.

In Randy's perspective, why didn't he just walk around the back? I don't think he encountered dangerous bandits, yet.

  • In a situation where you are presumed to be armed concealing the weapon is an unnecessary hindrance and if I were to discover somebody concealing the fact that they're armed I'd be more likely to kill them.

  • I'm actually serious about this.. When I first played the episode, turned the family away and Gil turned to glare back at Clem, that was my first impression of his 'look'. I didn't see it as sad, It looked to me like he was staring at Clem to remember her and I thought to myself, "oh shit! that kid is gonna be trouble". I guess it's all about perception!

  • I hate to break this to you, but only the Jane endings are canon. You'll deal with it eventually. [pats on head]

    CrazyGeorge posted: »

I don't really care, because most likely, the Jane ending wasn't cannon.

  • Clem: turns to Jane Randy's Family...can we trust them? said in a Nolanverse Batman voice

    Jane: Stop...doing...that.

    Clem: SWEAR TO ME!!!

Jane: I'm going to break the DVD player if you don't stop doing that.

In all seriousness I'm not sure who is the real danger in that scenario. It would likely more depend on how Clem and Jane were running things if you took them in or...if they ever came back if you turned them away, and this being TWD, someone would come back. I'm not even sure if Jane and Clem are safe for this family, especially if this is so soon after arriving. No time to settle and process.

I'm sorry, but I can't trust ANYONE with a name like that: ahem

    Randy:adjective, randier, randiest.

    sexually aroused; lustful; lecherous.

I don't want anyone like that near Clem.

As I'm from the UK, I honestly lol'ed when I heard the name. I thought it was just a joke name created for South Park. No idea it actually is a name in the States....

  • Really?

    Really?

  • You must be a Rick fan, they seem to say things like that.

offer one hand but arm the other that is how you shoud live in that world

  • Trust is earned, it's just not given away. Didn't she ask if they had weapons, and they said no? I don't remember.

  • lol this is an old post. I believe I was joking around when that was posted. I mean I believe Clem shouldn't be dating, just focus on survival, but what I posted was just some silly line from a crummy t.v. show., it fit what we were talking about.

  • He might be a nice guy, but even so, how many grown men would let an eleven year old girl call the shots?

Ofcourse he'd try to take charge, well meaning or not.

And personally I'm sick of the so called adults telling Clem what to do, so I sent them away.

Plus Clem gets to quote Lee when she sends them away, that's a bonus. :)

  • How did people get the impression that Randy is abusive?

And I don't understand why people get alarmed when they see that Randy has a gun...THERE ARE WALKING CORPSES TRYING TO EAT ANYTHING WITH A PULSE...ASSUME EVERYONE YOU SEE IS ARMED. Of course Randy has a gun! He has one for the same reasons Clementine, Jane and every other survivor has weapons.

Nothing about Randy and his family seemed out of ordinary to me. They were more reminiscent of Kenny, Katja and Duck in S1, except Randy didn't come across as much of a dick than Kenny

  • How did people get the impression that Randy is abusive?

I think it was the arm thing he did when his girl tried to stop him from getting closer to the gate talking to Clem and Jane. He just twisted it away from her and became slightly (aggressive?) during the conversation. I guess people interpreted that as "I don't listen to this lady and use physical force to get her to do what I want." Probably a load of bull crap, but you know how it is, fear of the unknown. That and the music just turned real sour at the very end there if you let them in...very odd.

Oh, thank you for explaining that

I took that as, him implying "No, I'm not going to give up yet"...Patty didn't want him to push it, probably b/c they don't know how hostile Jane and Clem may be...but I think Randy did that out of desperation to protect his family rather than an act of microagression

  • Who's Randy?
I don't remember a Randy in the game?

  • I feel like it's too risky to trust people. Like when they kind of trusted Bonnie at first, but then she lead Carver to them. And then she also tried to escape with Mike and Arvo. . . so no. In my opinion, I wouldn't trust Randy.

  • Randy is the ginger haired guy from the Jane ending.... If you chose to stay with Kenny ( my 1st choice), you don't get to see him.

  • I wouldn't let them in regardless. After all that shit, I think Clementine shouldn't trust anymore. Lee's influence be damned.
