Because Kenny is complete asshole, he would leave Lee in a drugstore filled with walkers trapped under a door because he doesn't agree with him. Or he wouldn't help search for Clementine either, what kind of a person does that? He also argues over Ben in Crawford about tossing him out (and wanting Lee to drop him) of the group meanwhile tons of walkers are waiting outside, who does this stuff?
I find Kenny to be a real jerk, his heart my lie in the right place, but his harsh judgement and quick thinking make a complete ass out of himself and a moron.
There are other things I can say about him, but that I don't feel like typing a novel.
To echo what's already been said: He can be extremely impulsive, insensitive, selfish and just an all-around asshole. There's also the whole "I got lucky" thing with him coming back in season 2, which he got a lot of focus in. But this is coming from someone who likes him. I know the guy's got issues and he annoyed me plenty of times, so I don't blame people for hating him. I do think some take it a bit far though.
And yeah, everyone is free to love and hate different characters, but I just ask they be respectful about it. I hate Jane, but I don't flaunt it.
lying to clementine when he promises to never hurt her then determinantly shoves her to the ground in the fight
It's a fight. He doe… moresn't want Clem to get involved because she could be hurt.
This is nitpicking more than a reason to dislike. I respect your other opinions why you dislike him, but this one bothers me.
Firstly, I say exactly how she gets better: watch her ending and let her make the choice about the family. Also the fact that if Clem asks her to save Sarah she will try says a lot.
Choosing clem as a substitute for her sister is a funny argument considering Kenny does the same thing with Clem and his son, to such an extent that he mixes up their names. That's just one of the ways the characters are surprisingly similar.
Jane constantly pushes her disgusting ideas upon Clem like wanting to leave Sarah and AJ behind.
Also she was heavily in favor of turning… more her back on the family at the end, looks like you're the one who as asleep in season two. So tell me again how the hell does she get better? By baiting a wounded man to his breaking point? Or by choosing Clem as a substitute for her sister?
Either way, there is no point in arguing with you. You're obviously not gonna stop hating Kenny and im not gonna stop hating Jane. Thats how you can tell Telltale did a good job at the ending of S2.
I'm a big fan of the character. I admit he had his issues and basically went flat out crazy towards the end, but imo he was easily one of the best and most interesting characters in the series (along with Clementine and Lee) I disagree with people saying that he took time away from other characters. I think had those characters been as interesting as him then they would have got on. A lot of season 2 characters were just bland to me.
If he apologises then whats the problem, he knows what he did was wrong and regretted it? lifes too short to hold grudges with your companions, especially over a screaming issue.. not worth holding a grudge on someone over that...

That's the best analysis of Kenny's role in season 2 I've ever heard; an abusive parent you can't help but love and hate at the same time. (Or just hate, for some people.)
I disagree with the idea of the games being fundamentally pessimistic, though. The stories themselves are what they are; the player is free to project their own pessimism or optimism onto the individual characters as they see fit.
He's just simply a "hate or love it" character. I personally love him as a character, but cant blame others for hating his guts, he know he … morecan be a real shit sometimes, but at least he admits it and tries to do better unlike some others COUGHjaneCOUGH.
At 7:00 this video explains perfectly why i love Kenny:

the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.
•prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.
Kenny: "Can you pick a lock?"
Lee: "Why would you say that?"
Kenny: "Cause, you're, you know. Urban."
By definition, Kenny is racist. Whether that line was there to be comedic or not, the implication of that line as well as others throughout season one and two would prove him to be bigoted.
But regardless of Wellington being real, which they didn't know until they got there. Kenny was following a pipe dream and treating it as a reality
What a shitty argument. When Wellington was first mentioned in episode 1 no one screamed "BUT THATS A BAD IDEA!!!!". When episode 2 mentioned Wellington is in Michigan and it's cold as shit no one screamed "BUT THATS A BAD IDEA!!!!!". When episode 4 mentioned "We're going to Wellington" literally no one in the forums or anywhere else screamed "BUT THATS A BAD IDEA!!!!!". That shitty argument only appeared after finishing episode 5 because "Kenny Haters" in denial need childish arguments to defend their poor ending.
But regardless of Wellington being real, which they didn't know until they got there. Kenny was following a pipe dream and treating it as a … morereality. And the fact that nobody else in the group agreed with him on a course of action should have given him pause.
Going North was a stupid idea in the first place, let alone with no Definite destination. Its fucking winter, and the farther north you go the less chance of survival. Nothing can be grown in winter, its not like there are heated homes to move into
Wellington exists, has always existed and will always exist, therefore he was right. The boat also existed but got fucked over by the Vernon's group. If there wasn't always an idiot interrupting his plans everyone would be ok.
You mean the plans which eventually turned out to be right?
Which plans are you referring, exactly? Wellington is unknown. And the boat was a shit plan.

Here's a comment I made on a similar thread:
Too bad Golden..... I won't regret what I did.....

Not wanting clem to get hurt by shoving her forcefully to the ground is pretty illogical.

what? i agree with you?? why are you responding to this one? i never said there was a problem ;3;

When did he say this exactly?
If I recall it's after the fight.
Does that mean you forgive Lilly and Ben?
I forgive Ben, .. as for Lilly I said over a "screaming issue" not murder, shooting someone point blank through the head...
Lol i forgive Ben, i dont hate Ben just cause Kenny does, he isnt one of my fav characters but i do feel bad for him
I just...? what??? im so confused.....
was responding to Green.
It's a lie regardless of when it's spoken if you say 'I would never hurt you'.
I wonder why...
Oh yeah, that's why.
Can we just keep talking about Pete instead
I like Pete
Then you should understand how he feels when Clementine kills his girlfriend by cutting her arm off in a impossible situation.
Agreed with everything here except the "racist" part.
I believe Green was one of the few people who killed the walker and didn't chop Sarita's arm off.

Yup, I was one of the people who didn't cut her arm off
I have never agreed with any post on this forum as much as I agree with this one.
Doesn't matter, he's dead.
Not yet.
Praise Pete, We should have had more time with him
TAKEN TOO SOON

He is if you got the canon ending.
Here we go with people spouting canon...Laughable.
Wellington exists, has always existed and will always exist, therefore he was right. The boat also existed but got fucked over by the Vernon's group. If there wasn't always an idiot interrupting his plans everyone would be ok.
Don't start things that will escalate into a debate, We're over stuff like that.
I'm not saying you hate him because Kenny does, You just said " i can forgive him as long as he truly knows what he did", Ben knows what he did.
Careful you don't cut yourself on that edge.
The Jane version of Clem_is_awesome.
Not even new. :P
EDIT: Fixed. How's that?
You didn't need to change it but that's fine.
Meh, oh well ¯_(ツ)_/¯
