Decisions don't carry over

Playing the Xbox One version, the choices in the game dont transfer over, affected choices seem to be Mira's entire storyline, who the sentinel is and Ethan's reaction to the Whitehill garrison.

Come on guys if you're going to charge me good money to play this game at least don't screw up on something as basic as save games. Jesus christ.

Thread: Ep1 Choices Didn't Carry Over to Ep2

Well I bought the season pass after i purchased GoT Ep1 and downloaded Ep2 tonight. When I started to play it, I noticed that in the "previously" segment it showed choices that I didn't make, however, i just assumed that it was a simple mistake or perhaps a predestined set of scenes. It wasn't until about half way through until I noticed that my sentinel wasn't the one I chose in Ep1. So my save file from Ep1 didn't see fit to keep the choices i made? Is there something I missed? I played all the way through to the credits and saw my choices summed up at the end so I fail to see how the game would forget what I had done previously. Unless I missed something?

Edit: This is on the Xbox One by the way.

  • Thread: Game of throne decisions arent carrying over(Xbone)

I just started playing through episode two and halfway through I here ser Roland say he was Ethan's sentinel. I know I choose Duncan as my sentinel and there are a few other choices that haven't carried over as well for episode two. I'm not sure how to fix this or if a patch will be made to address this issue. Any suggestions to fix this are welcome.

  • What system you on?

  • I have exactly the same issue I just don't want to play through the first episode again. I accepted Tyrion's offer, The game picked Royland but I picked Duncan its a joke

  • Exact same problem on xbox one just don't want to play throught the entire first episode again

  • Ide like to know how you were even playing episode 2 considering its not on the marketplace yet

If you search game of thrones in the marketplace its there. Is that issue downloading it from the marketplace rather than in game ? Hmmm ...

  • Not episode 2. Unless I'm mistaken. I can only find Ep. 2 if I go into DLC within the game.

  • I think the two problems are
    1. You can install it but your choices don't carry over
    2. Or You can't install full stop
I think it is do with the game being in the Borderlands xbox store page

Your don't have your decisions, because episode 2 is in the system like an addon for the tales from the borderlands, so the game thinks your playthrough is an entirely new session.

  • I'm on Xbox One and my decisions haven't carried over either, I also just played through the first episode again for no reason because it still didn't work.

  • Can you tell this game only has 1 programmer?

  • Its only 5:42 in California... I think that most of the devs are not in office yet...(correct me if I am wrong)
I have to admit that I didnt check if my choices were shown before the episode 2 release! I am confident that this will be fixed soon!

  • Considering it's been two monthes and they still haven't fix the choice bug in episode 1, I wouldn't be confident.

  • Oh OK... Didnt know that... Just purchased the game two days ago...

  • Same problem episode 2 won't carry across my descisions from episode 1, just replayed episode 1 only to find the same problem again, I chose Duncan as my senichal yet the highlights from the beginning of episode 2 say that set royland is the senichal, is the problem getting fixed as its completely pointless starting episode 2 without my choices!

  • Just adding another name to the list of people on One that Season 2 lost my data for. Maybe if I delete it and redownload it when it's in the proper spot on marketplace it will fix this problem. I hate the idea of starting chapter 2 when it has the total opposite info on my choices, it just doesn't feel right.

  • yeah i kinda wish i didn't find it now as the game save from ep 1 does not work i have tried multiple things like copying the save replaying the last part again but my choices do not register in episode 2. Game breaking really as the choices matter alot in games like these i don't want them to be made for me.

  • Yep, I'm another one that has fell victim to Telltales incompetence. I played episode 2 yesterday on my PS4 without a single glitch, however, this morning, it took me forever just to find the episode hiding in the add-on section of the Xbox Live store, then, find out none of my choices carried over. To top it off, I tried replaying, much like most of you, and to my dismay, choices will still not transfer. I've linked my accounts from PSN and Xbox Live and the "My Choices" page here on Telltales site reflects ZERO. They don't even acknowledge I've played through The Walking Dead's seasons 1 & 2 on two systems, same with TWAU, TFTB, and GOT. But if I want to see my choices, I have to load up the game on whichever console and go the "Choices" tab on the game proper. By the by, GOT doesn't even have a Tab for Choices, unlike every other game. Consistency? Never heard of it says Telltale. Efficiency? Da fuck is that they'll say. Go back to school and learn proper math so you don't fuck up algorithms of this sort. My two cents.

  • It's like they didn't even try in the xbox versions.

  • Yep just jumped onto GoT started up episode 2 and my decisions have not been carried over. I played the ending of episode 1 again but NOTHING! Hopefully this gets resolves soon because I didn't think much to episode 1 and thought the 2nd may redeem the series. This is easily the worst telltale game I have played but we all know they stumble at the launch of new episode every time.

My apologies. Can you please clarify if when you played through Episode 1 that you were connected to the internet, or not? Also, was your Xbox Live account linked with your Telltale account before playing the game, or after? After you completed the episode, was a My Choices page created on the main menu so that you could access your choices?

  • I'm seeing the same problem. I was connected to the internet throughout, but didn't link my Xbox Live account to my Telltale account until after finishing chapter one. I don't see any option on the main menu to access my choices.

  • I have the same problem...

I was connected to the Internet the whole time, my xbox account was linked with my telltale account before playing. I have no My Choices page created on the main menu and I cant see my choices on the webpage http://www.telltalegames.com/gameofthrones/episode1-choices.
I bought Episode 1 on Monday together with the season pass.

Playing on a XBox One from Germany.

Yup, same here. None of my original choices from episode 1 seemed to have carried over and it seems like from others experience there isn't any point in going through episode 1 again... It's annoys me to no end that Telltale still manages to make mistakes with choices, a vital part in their games, like this that ruins the game as a whole. Really hope they fix this quickly. And hopefully said fix doesn't mean we have to go through the whole of episode 1 again... Although I won't be surprised if we have to :/

  • im having the same problem, it wont save the episode and/or my choices, the page on the website and the game itself is not showing my choices
i hope its fixed as i do enjoy the game and most of the other game telltale make

  • Having the same issue, I don't want to play until I know it's my game
