Why all this hatred against Jane?

  • So a woman can't just want some dick?

Do you randomly meet strangers and have sex with them? If you want to delude yourself and believe what you wish, feel free to remain in the dark.

  • I don't even know how they can bring her back with that endings, with it making sense/not feeling cheap. tbh, it kind of makes me think they wrote her out for a while.

I have to admit, the fact that the story really shifted away from a focus on Clementine and was stolen by the other characters didn't thrill

  • I'm pretty sure plenty of people do that already...

Factor in the zombie apocalypse & Luke's good looks, and I don't think it's unreasonable to say Jane just wanted some sex.

  • You can't act like Jane is this innocent girl who just got blamed for everything.

:Looks around: Did I say that? Who said that? Because whoever did is delusional. Of course she's not completely innocent. I don't condone her for shooting Troy or for hiding a freaking baby or for igniting Kenny's wrath. That stuff she did was just harsh of her or stupid of her and I don't like her for it.

Of course not, i don't believe it was about sex at all, it was about how to be accepted in a new group. She has joined groups before, according to her, how else does she get in good with the "boss."

Okay so you argue that she lied and had sex to get in good with Luke who she thought of as the "boss" and to be accepted into the group. o.o But...she was already in the group when she had sex with him. Like, what else do you think she was expecting of Luke? That he would defend her from Kenny? (Nope, she clearly thought she could take Kenny on her own at the end of ep 5 and Luke was not there.) Was she expecting favoritism via like more food from Luke or help in surviving? (No, she'd been surviving on her own for quite a while already and even if you don't believe it when she claims that, I think from her ability to take down walkers and scavenge fresh walkers for supplies that it's clear she could survive on her own.) The only thing I can think of to support your argument was that she slept with him to get more emotional support from him. And to be honest, she probably did sleep with him for that reason (though I don't agree it was to get with the "boss" or that it as malicious as you claim. She was just lonely.) But then, she leaves the guy and Luke gets upset and, if we continue with your theory, there was a very real chance he would no longer offer said emotional support, or any other support after she came back. In fact, the two don't even speak to each other that we see the entire last episode! So how was she "in" with him then? And also, why would she leave in the first place then? If she wanted to get "in" with the group then why leave the group at all once she was already in it? o__o Jane leaving would only make them trust her less when she did come back. You could make a far-fetched argument that Jane followed the group after she left and intervened when the Russians were shooting so she could manipulatively look like a "hero" in rescuing them, but why would she wait so long to help if that was the case? Clem had been in the range of fire from the beginning of ep 5, and Luke ended up getting injured too. They all could've died if Jane'd waited so long. The group you claim she'd wanted "in" so badly would've all died before she could've rejoined them. So?

Why else would she have sex with him?

Honestly, for the same reasons that Luke wanted to have sex with her. To forget about how shitty the world around them was just for a few minutes. Jane was clearly not quite with it in the trailer with Sarah--she was panicking and I believe she was reliving her worst nightmare of Jaime dying in front of her all over and she couldn't handle it. Whether or not you believe Jaime to have existed, Jane still looked scared and upset then. I theorize she also got upset after Arvo left because she was reminiscing on how she and Jaime had been mugged by particularly terrible bandits, when Jane probably couldn't protect Jaime, and thus Jane laments, "I can't believe I'm stealing from some stupid kid, like a bandit," like she had ironically become the evil she hadn't meant to, just to protect this group she didn't really like 100%. Hence all the guilt, and hence why shortly after she wanted some comfort from Luke, or at least to drown her sorrows in the more physical aspects of sex. People fuck for a lot of different reasons. >.>

    :}

Lol dat smile emoticon do. xp

And all right, so on Troy. I agree with everything you just said on him basically. I guess I'll just drop my theory here, minus some of the details. Maybe it's stretching it a bit, but meh. And eh, warning for sexual violence. >.< Basically I think, like I mentioned before, that Jane and Jaime were mugged by a terrible person, because of her line about getting so upset she'd become a bandit. Jane's showed that she can be overpowered by a big burly guy like Kenny, so she could've been overpowered by this bandit too and maybe beaten so hard she couldn't move, or he tied her up, or whatever. Then I think it very possible said bandit up and raped poor Jaime, and Jane had to watch, unable to do anything. After that, Jaime could've become more depressed and lost even more of her will to live, and would just be more unwilling to jump across that rooftop with Jane. So in the future if Troy was even slightly sexually abusive or slightly sexually harassing Jane, and if Jane was just sweet-talking him the entire time to get out of there, then it would've just been all this anger she had from the past for a man who probably contributed to the death of her sister, and Jane just projected the image of this rapist on to Troy. Hence the shooting-off-of-dicks and the no-fucks-given by Jane....Also, and this is unrelated to Troy--I think Jaime could've gotten pregnant and the baby was miscarried or stillborn. Hence why Jane doesn't want to get close to AJ at all--all she sees is a stillborn baby when she looks at him, and also further reason Jaime could've been so depressed.

You talk about Jane as if she was some sort of succubus. I don't really trust people, its my nature, to be suspicious of behavior. H

The qualities you describe--I see myself in her too the way you described, and she also reminds me of one of my best friends. Not to mention

  • Jane does sound like the "motherly" type, where she would be ok with getting pregnant, I'm sure she wouldn't think of it as a liability. I'm sure that pregnancy would race through her mind, and a incentive NOT to have sex. LOL right?

SO WHY O H WHY would she have sex with him? DUH to gain favor. As soon as Jane "leaves" because she really doesn't, she instead stalks the group until they run into the Russians, then proceeds to "kill" one eventually, i'm sure it was tough, because this man NEVER wronged her. She cried about it, talked how it made her feel like crap, right?

    RIGHT?

I'm pretty sure plenty of people do that already... Factor in the zombie apocalypse & Luke's good looks, and I don't think it's unreasonable to say Jane just wanted some sex.

Right, because there is no way to have sex without getting pregnant.

Actually the people who criticize him for being a douche usually have such strong opinions I can't help but think they are a lot like him.

And the people who like Kenny have such strong opinions of him too. What are you getting at?

  • Seems to me that Jane wants to be selfish. Her experiences have taught her that helping other people never ends well. But she can’t help but get attached to other people anyway and want to help them, even if it’ll be a detriment to her survival (she’s a lot like Christa in that regard).

Eeyup. Nice analysis; I never thought of it that way explicitly, but it's pretty obvious now you say it.

I'm really confused why people rag on about Jane's "selfishness". Yes, she constantly goes on about how “looking out for yourself” is key to

  • Because Jane is selfish as fuck. She wanted Sarah to die who was reminding her sister, she didn't even try to help. Also Jane's offer too got Sarah killed. After I sent Jane to help her, when Sarah gets eaten, she just leaves her being devoured instead shooting the walkers and prevent her suffering. This is why I hate her. That's why I killed her. I HAD NO REGRETS.

  • Everyone's gonna have different opinions and that's pretty cool. Personally I hate Jane. She might not have deserved to die but I didn't hesitate in letting Kenny kill her. She was evil...like, pure evil. Her mind was so twisted.

  • CAUSE SHE IS THE REASON KENNY WAS DETERMINATE SHE NEEDS TO BE BUTUALLY MURDERD WITH A CROWBAr

  • I am a Jane fan but I like to read all kinds of comments and if they are creative with their hate and make me laugh all the better.

  • I liked both Jane and Kenny, very much.

Kenny: I liked Kenny in season one and I always had Lee side with him, other than when Kenny wanted Lee to drop Ben. I thought that Kenny's wish was justified though, since Ben was a part in the death of Katjaa and Duck. Kenny made very smart choices, but some that may have been morally wrong. I thought they made sense though (Kenny wanted Lilly to stay behind, smashed Larry's head). I thought Kenny was the most reliable character in the two seasons and was a great friend to both Lee (he saved Lee many times when his life was at risk) and Clementine (took the blame for having the walkie-talkie, tried to keep her safe). The one thing that was out of character for Kenny in season 2 was when he was angry at Clementine for chopping off Sarita's arm. I didn't understand why he got mad at her whatsoever, but overall, Kenny was the most solid character (besides Clementine and Lee, of course) and he cared about the well being of the group more than anyone.

Jane: I liked Jane basically because she helped Clementine survive. She taught her the knee trick, and gave her a nail file. I understood why she urged Clem to leave Sarah behind because she's been through that and saw her as a liability.

In the end, I chose Kenny. It took a lot of thought. I was with Kenny through more and knew more about him, so I thought my chances would be better. Kenny and Jane were both skilled survivors, so I was okay with picking either of them based on that aspect. I agreed with Kenny about bigger issues though. Also, I knew Kenny would never abandon Clem or AJ, but I was iffy with Jane, so I had Clem choose the more reliable adult.
