Will Telltale kill off Clementine?

  • You mean them killing off pretty much everyone wasn't dumb? Don't put it past them to have Clem die to save someone else, and end the series that way. Full circle. Lee dies to save her, she gets older, dies to save AJ, game ends.

Ending the series with Clementine's death would be kinda stupid imo, they are plenty of different ways they could probably end it without her dying. Anything's possible though

Those are his own thoughts, Telltale hasn't stated much about season 3 other than it's coming.

  • That's not the same, the killing of the entire group by the end of the season is just a bad decision in the writing. Clementine has been The Walking Dead game since Day 1 in a sense, so them ending the series by killing her would just seem like a waste. They can do a lot of other stuff with her to end it rather than killing.

She won't die to save AJ, considering he is just a baby and that's all he'll ever be in this game until he dies due to a canon timeline.

  • I really wouldn't be surprised if this is how TellTale ends it. Clementine running away from a huge heard of Walkers... That's how it ends. Her chances are slim, to none. The player is left to believe whatever they want

  • Lee's death hit pretty much everyone hard and I'm Sure that they wouldn't
kill Clem off since she's what keeps this series going. And telltale knows better
then to not want to crush their players like that again.
Everyone in both of Clem's groups are Dead with the exeption
of Jane or Kenny and possibly Lilly also AJ. I think Clem has
alot a head of her. New people, new skills to learn, and new experiences. And
I'm Sure alot more. Oh yea and Christa may also still be alive.

What about the people who say they don't care?

To everyone saying they want Clementine to die...

  • I don't think that they will kill off Clementine. But they might retire her. The ending with the Wellington felt quite conclusive for her. I am not sure how they will continue her storyline.

  • Eh, I don't care that you don't care really.

And to be completely honest, I can understand some of the peoples' reasoning behind no longer feeling connected to Clementine as a character. Goddamn Kenny ran her through the ringer throughout season two with all his insipid screen time and constant barrage of character "development" (if you could call it that) overshadowing everyone else's potential depth. He stilted a lot of interest for a lot of people.

Hell, I didn't even like Clementine in No Going Back because she only served Captain Redneck and his stupid goal. It's sad, but that's the way Telltale chose to go... making Clem another victim just so that Kenny could pat her on her shoulders and do all the morally questionable things for her because people apparently voted in favor for making Clementine a pons.

But yeah, if you don't care, I can't exactly say I blame you. I'm just opposed to people wishing for her death. I killed Kenny, so now no one can ruin Clementine's plot (at least not the way he did).

Clem is the heart of TWD! I would like to see her meet up with Krista- she's not confirmed dead, right? I think it would be interesting to do a jump in time, so that season three opens with AJ a toddler and Clem a little older and more mature. They could make it to water and get to a remote island or something- Kenny's foiled plan to get to water always made me wonder, what about all the people who DID get a boat on time? Is there a walker free utopia out there somewhere isolated from the mainland? It would be REALLY interesting to see. I would also like to see Lily make a comeback. And maybe run into a character from the comics- it was interesting in season 1.

Yeah, Christa and Lilly could both easily return in S3, it would be good to find out what happened to them. I don't want them to meet any of the characters of the comics though, I didn't really like Glenn and Hershel's cameos in S1. It'd be interesting if they reached a walker-free place, but I doubt that'd happen given the hopeless theme of TWD.

  • Yeah... I like that! :D

I can see season 3 starting with Clem as the main character, but switching midway, with an ending where the new player character meets up wi

  • I find it sad that if TT killed Clementine, most of the community would turn away from the game.

  • dojo32161dojo32161 Moderator

Yeah, I don't know if it's most because we can't really calculate that, but I find it sad someone would turn away just because of the death of 1 character.

  • yes 400 days did not have Clem it was a dlc and to me wasn't the greatest dlc either it was to short in my opinion for something that was suppose to hold us over till season 2 came out it did not hold me over it left me with a that's it felling and I didn't care for many of the characters I liked only Bonnie, Becca, and Shel the others were just ok but over all I was left wanting more and thought it was short and I was disappointed

  • i hope not I would be done with it I would pretend all others do not exist and stick with just the first two seasons

  • She will die at the end in some heroic way. The series will wrap up showing humanity about 100 years in the future, and the story will have been told to a class of school students about the near human extinction, and the heroic survivors who saved humanity.

  • I would like her story to one day end one way or another, if that means she has to die so be it.

  • I reckon she'll die protecting AJ.

  • I honestly hope that doesn't happen. The game can't skip too far ahead because it has to stay in the time the comics are taking place (at least, that's what I heard). So I doubt there will be a 2/3 year skip or anything- which means if she dies protecting AJ, he'll still be a baby.

That would be the most non-heroic way to die, even if she is risking her life for him. Why die for AJ as a baby if he wouldn't make it 10 minutes on his own? He'd just die right after she gives her life for him. It'd be pointless, in my opinion.

  • They should just pull a Nick. You are playing as someone else, and stumble upon a zombified Clementine. No real explanation or anything.

  • well it's the walking dead so its likely at some point. Like Molly said, "in the end, the dead always win"

  • No offense or anything, but in my opinion, that'd be extremely dumb. Like what- we're just a random character (no backstory or anything) and we come across undead Clem? What happens to AJ? What happens to Kenny/Jane if you are with one of them? What happened to Wellington/Howe's if you stay there? There's too many questions. If I saw that and played the whole game without getting any answers to those questions, I wouldn't play a Season 4 if there ever was one.

Nice thought though, many people wouldn't think that. (:

Don't even think about it, TTG! I mean seriously, what's the point in killing "one of the only good things left in the world"?

  • I had a dream the other night that she died.

There was riots on the forums, lots of fire gifs and flame war memes and all sorts of crazy stuff going on.

When I woke up I thought Clementine was dead but about 5 minutes later I realised she was still alive. :P

  • It honestly wouldn't feel the same without Clem. And what about the baby? who will take care of A.J like Clem is all he has. I think they will allow Clem to continue to fight and strive for survival and raise A.J and teach him the odds and ends of the zombie apocalypse just like Lee taught her. WhenA .J gets 7 years old die Clem off and pick it up with A.J and his survival. THEN again it still wouldn't be the same without Clem.

  • Probably in the future seasons.

  • TT would be very unlikely to do this in my opinion, but if they were to do so they would have to switch us to another character, with Clem as a secondary character who dies as a season finale sort of thing. Personally I'd love to play as Clem for as long as possible (Season 6, if TT even went that far?), but if they were to kill her off any time soon I'd imagine she'll be the main character in S3 and then a secondary who dies in S4
