Should they IMPROVE?!

Do you think Telltale should improve The Walking Dead's graphics? Maybe they could do it like the Game of Throne's graphics or do you prefer them just as it is?

Me:

I think any improvement of graphics is welcome, I just don't think a game in 2016 should look like that.... :/ Oh well I still love and will always will love the game no matter how it looks :D

Mm I like the way it looks, stylistically speaking. Comic-booky look with the hard lines and all that. It's quite unique. However I think they could stand to improve the animations of their characters, especially the facial expressions. Sometimes they just look so stiff. And in a game based on decisions you often have to make when choosing between two people or making decisions about people, I think body language and facial expressions of those same people to communicate with the player is something that is very necessary.

  • They should try to improve the graphics, not the style.

  • I strongly agree with the animation, especially when Clemintine was trying to stich herself up the needle was flying all around her hand :P

  • Improve the story.

I did think the graphic improvement over Season 1 was a great thing that Season 2 had though.

  • No way! I love the graphics and style, the great thing about Telltale every one of their games has a different art style.

  • The graphics are fine, but the character animations are terrible.

  • You won't like any improvment?

  • This kind of games aren't about graphics - they're about story and that's the first thing everyone here will look at. Oh, okay... almost everyone. Graphic improvement? No problem, as far as they'll keep current graphic style but like I said, story is still the most important thing. At least for me.

I never said the story isn't important and that it doesn't top the graphics, but why shouldn't I like some improvement?

  • And why do you say that? (I mean can you tell me the reason why you prefer these graphics than better ones)

  • I feel like I am the only one who would prefer to see Lil Clementine with better graphics & see the "walkers" clear, & see how the enviroment would look and all the tension would feel realistic! :/ Welp, everybody has opinions....

Okay and I never said thay you said this. I just pointed out that for Telltale story is more important than graphics. Also Season 2 did had some improvement in graphic but the style remained the same so perhaps there will be one for Season 3. Though I doubt they'll change graphic style. They even said once that they want to stick with this comics looking style.

  • What's the problem with it? As @AAA_Jane said, I hope they improve the graphics, but I don't expect any changes in the style. Graphics and style are two different things :P

    Laughably bad lmao

  • I liked when the graphics were less defined and there were a lot more options in the field of view.

  • The graphics will be improved in Season 3. I mean, you can seriously tell the difference between S1 and S2.

  • No?

Graphics aren't everything, especially in games like this. The game's comic book style is a reason it's so unique and that shouldn't be changed just to make it more "realistic". Fixing animations however would be nice. Time and money should definitely not be wasted in graphics.

  • Change the graphics?

  • Yeah, this. The Wolf Among Us was a pretty good version of updated TWD graphics.

In all honesty though, I think facial expressions/animations are actually one of Telltale's strong points

I mean sure, you have a few unintentionally hilarious blank/weird stares here and there, but for the most part they do a great job with expressions and capturing emotion, and they've been steadily improving since S1. There's quite a few awkward transitions in facial expressions, or just completely stupid looking ones in the first season, but they've ironed most of those out by S2

Character animations on a whole though, I can agree that they could do with an overhaul, and with more general animations overall: they reuse so many animations that it's actually starting to become quite apparent and even uncanny at times. Although, once again, I think they've been steadily improving on it with Tales and GoT so far (Tales moreso. They actually have some pretty good animations in that series.)

    Especially their facial expressions.

The graphical style and aesthetic of the game is fine. I like games that have a unique personality to their art style, something that compliments the game itself, or just makes the whole product stand out; feel distinct. I feel TWD accomplishes just that. I would also argue that the game actually benefits by the fact that it isn't photo-realistic, but looks more like a living comic book. I'd say that, aside from the quality of the writing, the stylized nature of TWD is one of the things that makes it such a memorable and unique experience for me. One that stands out in my mind.

The graphical fidelity, though? Of course that could do with improvements. Higher res textures, higher poly models, etc etc. But they've slowly and steadily been improving on that over time as well. Look at a model of a character from S1, then look at a model of a character from S2. There's a definite improvement in the quality between them. Or hell, look at the blurry low-res zombies from the first game, then the much more crisp and higher def versions in the second season.

  • Tell me about it! Tales from the Borderlands looks pretty good too :)

  • Game of thrones has the weirdest graphics and these graphics fit TWDG because it's based on a comic

  • When you also meet luke's group for the first time Nick's rifle is also moving around like crazy in his hands

I strongly agree with the animation, especially when Clemintine was trying to stich herself up the needle was flying all around her hand :P

  • Just like TFBL fits perfect on the game. TWDG fits perfect for the comics like TWAU. and GOT fits with ???? i dont know that one lol..
On new series that they will creat will have better grafics i belive but to the projecs they already doing i dont belive in any change or i want them to do it, i like the grafics and style just fine.

So basically there has been a notable difference in graphics (GoT for example) it's most likely will be improved on top of that, we have to wait and see.

  • I wouldn't mind if they changed the graphics to look like this:
