Yup, it's for real! Shenmue 3 was also revealed to got kickstarter set up by the creator and it's reaching it's goal pretty quickly. Let's just say Sony won E3 so far.

I don't think that's really an issue, since Kirkman will most likely be heavily involved with this to make sure they capture the essence of her character, he may even be involved with the writing of this one, which would be really awesome. Besides, Telltale has written for well established characters before in other games and they worked out fine, such as Bigby Wolf, Snow White, Handsome Jack, Cersei, Margery, Tyrion, and numerous others, so I don't see the big problem.

Nah, just kidding, I just know some people (including me) didn't like this idea because they didn't care either for the show or the comics or just never had the time to read and watch those and that's why they fear they'll be walking blindfolded as a character they don't know shit about lol but I read her story right now aaaand...seems pretty interesting to me.

I feel...a little deflated, to be honest. Maybe it's because "Ms. Grumpy-face" never struck me as being a particularly good character. IMO, she's the ultimate badass zombie apocalypse survivor cliche. Killing zombies and taking names, but little else. Regardless of how many fans give Telltale grief for choosing Clementine as season 2's PC, playing as a little girl in a horror-movie setting had an original spin to it.
I also wonder how much leeway Telltale is going to grant us with Michonne's characterization. Lee's personality was never set in stone until the player took control of him, but Robert Kirkman's been setting Michonne "in stone" from the very beginning.
A lot of my opinion could change depending on who they cast as Michonne's VA. It'd be awesome if they could find someone who sounds legitimately intimidating and dangerous. Regina King could be amazing.

I for one am excited about this.. For me it's just about more TWD content.. I wouldnt care so much what they give us, I'll play any TWD game they make.

Borderlands: originally announced with nothing more than a vague trailer, no real details revealed for quite a while afterwards. People didn't react very well at first
Minecraft: originally announced with only a logo, no further details released. People reacted very poorly
Michonne: announced with key-art and a small description, no further details yet. People are kicking up a bit of a fuss about it
Just watch; when Minecraft and Michonne get close to release and screenshots/trailers start coming out, half of the people rallying against these two series will end up changing their minds
Wouldn't be the first time I've seen people get angry over something that they really don't know all that much about, then making a 180 by the time that the release draws closer and more details come out (was anyone here around for the good old L4D2 boycott from way back when?)
