An evil thing to consider....
Warning! Not for the weak of mind or sensitive
Looks like no one has ever said this so I'll be the raunchy one. How would you feel if Clementine was raped and or tortured. This isn't me and my sick ol' mind I think this is something real and more frequent than shown in the apocalypse. All we know is the bandits did and Winston was likely attempting to rape her. What I mean is a far more explicit, graphic and brutally disgusting scene.
How would you feel about it
How would you feel about the person doing it?

Honestly I wouldn't stop playing like some others would (completely understandable if you would need to after that) but it would gross me out kinda and make me feel weird. Yes this stuff does happen but it would seem unnecessary and like Telltale would be reaching for shock value. I also doubt it would happen since Telltale hasn't even implemented sex into GoT yet, other then Nerissa in TWAU I think Telltale is straying away from sex in their games which isn't necessarily a good or bad thing.
This has been talked about before :P
If anything, maybe something like, it was about to happen? But then she is saved. Theres no need to make something like that really happen
Yeah, I don't think I could get behind a scene like this. At all. Realistically, its an unfortunate reality in a post apocalyptic world, but in terms of story telling its just a cheap ass (and cliché) attempt at grabbing shock value. I could probably live with a brutal interrogation type scene that actually serves a purpose, but not a rape scene.
I don't even think Telltale could get away with getting a scene like that through any of the censors, unless they all move to Japan and make a dummy company called Taletell Studios, solely so they can do this
Pretty shitty
I would want to do things to them that also wouldn't make it past censorship (unless I buy a plane ticket to Japan for the both of us)
(also to clarify, the Japan stuff is a joke made in extremely bad taste, pls don't kill)
I hate it when stuff like that happens. Why does she need to be saved? The world's fallen to ashes and destruction. This would finally push her character into truly thinking the world is hell
It's a very realistic situation. Rape is a very real threat to all women, all of the time. In real life.
It would not bother me to have a situation like this arise in game, as long as it was handled properly as the life altering scenario that it is, and not made to feel like it was done just for the drama of it all. I believe that Clem as a character could survive such a situation and come out wiser and stronger for it. I don't think it would break her. If she could save herself from it, it may make her more aware and confident in herself.
I would prefer though that it was an Attempt, and not the actuality of rape.
I'd be shocked and moderately horrified.
NOPE
Torture and rape are actually a very present theme in the very comics the game was based off of
I'd be disturbed and grossed out, of course, and I'd make sure that shitbird dies a horrible death. Didn't Winston kind of attempted to rape her as well as rob and probably kill her? I don't know, I always had doubts about Winston's true intentions.
I believed this has been talked about before.
I love Clementine, so I'd feel like absolute shit if it were to happen. I understand it's something common in a world like this, we do see it in the comic as you pointed out, but unless it can benefit towards her character development instead of being in the game just to shock us, then I am completely against it.
Well since you used the picture of The Governor torturing Michonne, I think it's only fair to do the same to show what I would like to do to the motherfucker who would dare hurt Clem like that.
And what if god forbid this said villain gets away with doing it to Clementine? :P
I can't really see any other reason for him to be chasing her and risking himself. Either rape was his intention or he was just poorly used to create a sense of danger
I won't let that happen, I will hunt the fucker down if I can.
Jesus are you fucking kidding me?
Add Carver and Rebecca's relationship, and if we count comics besides what has been posted, Negan and his wives.
I feel like he did try to rape her. Trying to immobilize her and all that. If he just wanted to rob her, he could've just aimed a pistol at her or something. (Probably he carried some kind of weapon in his bag? I think he had one.)
Then why put it in? There needs to be an allusion of choice at least. So having an entire scene in which our emotions of an act are gauged that strongly and then for it not have any lead up or conclusion is preposterous.
I'm already pissed that there was never any choice for something as little as the two bullets we found in Amid the Ruins, you could imagine how fucking stupid it'd be to have the protagonist raped and/or tortured and then just cast it aside as little more than a "development" arc for her, which is disgusting in it's own right. As if she has to be raped because she's an adolescent girl that needs something to remind her of hardship and pain.
Having something like that would make it more raw and realistic just b/c Clem would be very vulnerable to sexual predators
But I wouldn't stop playing if they added more stuff like that cuz I don't understand how people can watch others being brutally tortured and mutilated yet they draw the line at a rape scene (whether it be a male/female) victim
Aren't the saviors against sexual violence?
I thought it was implied that he had sex with those women when it probably wasn't consensual always, but yeah, you gotta a point.
I think it would not only develop her character arc but as well as the villain's and break this illusion that Clementine is untouchable. Clementine has never been in these situations before and would show how far she's come from being a scared girl to a defenseless suffering one
Telltale wouldn't do it, they'd get sooooooooooooooooooooooo much shit. And I'm pretty sure everyone would hate it, even if you hate her only a complete sociopath would be ok with an 11 year girl getting raped, regardless if she's real or not n
damn Michonne and Philip are monsters, despite the latter deserving it. That side of Walking Dead is truly savage!
Well that's kinda the point isn't it? A series that can invoke all sorts of emotion out of their fan base is a very good one
That's beside the point. You asked "how would you feel about it?" That's a ridiculous question, obviously everyone would hate it.
"Everyone" is a blanket statement. Rape itself is horrible however when it's a major part of the plot it may be necessary in a very sick way
... I highly doubt anyone would be OK with Clementine being raped on screen. Anyone with a sane mind at least
I feel like Carver might have raped Rebecca, or even blackmailed her into having sex with him. I think there's an unused audio file where he tells her that "she liked it just as much as he did". But who knows, she could have just cheated on Alvin. This makes me wish they explored the whole angle between the three more.
On screen is a different story. Screams and cries can be heard while everyone getting the point and not the gross details
At that point i stop playing the game, Games are supposed to be entertaining, and i don't want to be anywhere connected to something like that. Killing Clementine off is one thing, rape/torture is something i want nothing to do with.
Why is someone always bringing this up?
The game would get an A+ rating, and I'd probably never play another episode of The Walking Dead ever again.
Oh, and Telltale would probably go under investigation for child porn or something like that.
An offscreen rape scene? I don't think it qualifies as child porn
That's not an unused file. Carver says something like that too Rebecca after he's crippled
The game would get attacked by Feminazis
You dont have to be a "feminazi" to not want to see Clementine, an eleven year old child, raped AND tortured. I just dont think that has any place in this game.
It is unused. In the unused file he says "you wanted it just as much as I did", after he is crippled he tells her "the fuck are you looking at bitch? Don't act like you didn't love every second of it".
No, that'd make me feel terrible. I couldn't bear knowing what happened to her.
Yeah, that statement implies the same thing as the unused file...it was just more of an asshole way of saying it
So what I meant was the file isn't really unused, it's just worded differently
It's still two different statement's. One is still unused while the other isn't.
