my point was that one is unused while the other is used,. They can mean the same thing but still doesn't change the fact that one of them isn't used throughout the episode...

Hmm I don't know what you mean, if we look at Joker's long history he's done wicked things involving children. Anakin Skywalker slaughtered dozens of children with no real cause and don't even get me started on Patrick Bateman. A villain doesn't have to always be likable a villain you hate is a realistic one do you think any murdering, selfish, psychopaths would be liked in real life or a ZA?
I'd be disturbed forever and feel no emotion for the perpetrator. But Telltale would never do an explicit, graphic, brutally disgusting rape scene. If they did, the game would most likely be censored. I don't know how Telltale would even be able to continue Clem's character if they made such a scene.
That's fucked up, it wouldn't add anything especially if the person gets away. Seriously, if you want to show Clem's not untouchable? Cripple her or something but don't show a rape scene.
Luckily, Telltale's writers are of sane mind and won't write that in.

I think it would not only develop her character arc but as well as the villain's and break this illusion that Clementine is untouchable
There are far better ways of doing that though without thrusting players into a scene haphazardly being raped and stripped of their development just so that, as an excuse, they can build back up as a different figure. Build up the sense of suffering through a strong narrative direction and subtle character cues. Write a Stanley Kubrick film not a Russ Meyer film.
Clementine has never been in these situations before and would show how far she's come from being a scared girl to a defenseless suffering one
No, it'd just be tasteless self-serving bait for people that think rape being used as a development arc is edgy and risqué.

They could do it but in a more implied way but I feel like it would hurt their games more than it helped a lot of fans react in a negative way towards the writers when they do that sort of thing.
How? This has been done multiple times in fiction and serves it's coarse most of the time. For example in A Clockwork Orange I understood Alex's brutality through the rape scene and that was off camera.
I think raping children is honestly worse than killing them. At LEAST in the common eye of the audience. The Joker never raped anyone, and neither did Darth Vader. Also, a great, memorable villain, who adds to the story and themes, has to be more than crazy, is invariably going to have likable qualities. Like you said, the Joker is a murdering, selfish psychopath. But he also has a "need" for Bruce Wayne. He also is INCREDIBLY charismatic. He also comes up with incredibly creative, dashing plans. What we NEVER see the Joker do, or hear about the Joker doing, is rape. Rape, in modern culture at the very least, is the single worst crime you can commit. Look at every well liked, or well regarded villain in cinema/media history. Tell me. How many are rapists?

I don't think someone's crimes has as much of an effect personality as a whole. They don't have to be boring and uninteresting because they're rapists. I thought Max Cady from Cape Fear was an awesome character and it wasn't because he raped people.

I thought that she was gonna get raped in episode 5 of S2 because the poster for it had 'sexual content' with the other warnings of what that episode could contain. But luckily it didn't happen. BUT I think that, if they're gonna use Clementine as a way older person (like 18 or 19), Telltale could include that she got raped and that person got away with it. She could tell this to the playable protagonist or another character while they try to bond with her. And this wouldn't be as graphic as a real rape scene so it actually would fit into how far Telltale wants to go with difficult subjects like this.
I don't think someone's crimes has as much of an effect personality as a whole.
But they will be hated, and will be overall poor villains.
it wasn't because he raped people.
I sure hope you didn't like him because he raped people. I never saw the movies, or read the book, but the article I'm reading on the guy makes it sound like revenge, rather than just doing it for himself. However, this subject material seems to have a much darker tone than TWD. Of course, TWD has walking corpses, and death, and shit, but its writing's tone is closer to Old Yeller than Cape Fear, I think. Did anybody rape Old Yeller? I mean, you could justify it by saying people sometimes do that in the armpits of America. Nah, that would've been out of place, and out of tone. Just as it would be here.

It may happen in the real world but I don't see any need for it in the game. It's too gruesome, even if these are themes you'd possibly find in an Apocalypse that doesn't make it ok to recreate something that's traumatized some people.
I think it implies that it was consensual, probably until she realized she was preggo...
just b/c if you take that statement with how everyone else who spoke about the affair/pregnancy, none of them made it sound like Carver raped her, just that they didn't want to be gossiping about the affair...
but if that's how you interpret it, we'll just have to agree to disagree b/c I wouldn't say that your interpretation is wrong
Hell it would suck...part of me wonders if that is what happened to Christa if she did not escape...we do not know if she escaped. If she didn't then multiple rape and a slit throat is the best she could hope for.
And now I am depressed because shit just got real.
This is why Telltale should of had Rebecca talk about the relationship more. So we could of had a better idea of what could have happened between them. Your probrably right, maybe she did agree to have a sexual relationship with him. I just want to why she would cheat on Alvin.

I would be so pissed I would go in to the game and personally rip out their throat while disembowelling them...jus sayin...I might get a little angry...
oh yeah, for sure Rebecca should've talked about it more....I took the lack of speaking about it to be that several people knew about the affair...we know at least Luke and Bonnie knew about it...the attitude about Rebecca's pregnancy reminded me of the situation between Shane, Rick and Lori (from the TV show)...not exactly the same, but there are similarities in the way of thinking about how to protect mother & child
There's no way to know for sure why Rebecca cheated, but it was probably due, in part, to the stresses of living in a world full of zombies and in such close quarters all the time. Rebecca was married and although legally wouldn't mean anything, there are still the cultural/moral obligations of marriage...I don't think Rebecca was looking for a man to replace Alvin...as cheating often is not just about sex, I think Rebecca would have been looking for just a fantasy that could take her mind off the ever impending doom...something that Alvin-who signifies part of reality- wouldn't be able to give her

I agree. And it is similar to the whole Lori and Shane situation. I like your theory as to why she might have cheated on Alvin. I also agree that once she figured out she was pregnant she started to distance herself from him. This would later cause the animosity between them. I would have liked if they had Luke or Bonnie explain the situation more, or maybe even have Rebecca admit it to us.

Minor details that mean the exact same thing
my point was that one is unused while the other is used,. They can mean the same thing but still doesn't change the fact that one of them isn't used throughout the episode...
Once again that's the point
And I was pointing out that the file that is used is essentially saying the same thing so the unused file is irrelevant
well I was pointing out the the unused file SUGGEST that carver did indeed rape or blackmail Rebecca, which IS the point of this thread...
If that happens. The perpetrator would be the most hated character in the entire series. Even if that character raped someone else instead of Clem
Maybe in video games as a whole. A good villain invoked hate from an audience
I would probably look on in a disturbed way as long as I could. Try to figure out exactly why the writers would go that far.
A great villain is also somewhat liked by the audience.
Example: Handsome Jack, Darth Vader, Dr. Evil, Tyler Durdan
Child rapist=Unlikable in any way.

By making her a more vengeful character

Yeah well it does literally nothing other then make everyone want to stop playing.
They could do it but in a more implied way but I feel like it would hurt their games more than it helped a lot of fans react in a negative way towards the writers when they do that sort of thing.

The unused file implies the same thing that is actually said in the game, that it was a consensual affair
Everyone wouldn't stop playing. If you read a lot of the posts there are just as many in favor of more hardcore scenes as there are against them
To me it does indeed sound like he forced her to do certain things. I could be wrong.
It may happen in the real world but I don't see any need for it in the game. It's too gruesome, even if these are themes you'd possibly find in an Apocalypse that doesn't make it ok to recreate something that's traumatized some people.
Very few people would get enjoyment out of playing this scenario and I bet it would put a lot of fans off, if not most.
I think it implies that it was consensual, probably until she realized she was preggo...

You all are sick sick in the heads.
That's not a very nice thing to imply.

I don't understand why gamers think seeing something fucked up is a good thing. Do you want PTSD?
I would be so pissed I would go in to the game and personally rip out their throat while disembowelling them...jus sayin...I might get a little angry...
well, all sorts of F'd up shit happens in the apocalypse...no use beatin 'round the bush

The word I meant to say instead of stop playing was completely disgusted.
It's been mentioned before. Honestly it wouldn't add much to the story.
I agree. And it is similar to the whole Lori and Shane situation. I like your theory as to why she might have cheated on Alvin.
