  • The shit storm cometh now

  • I'm curious to see the responses. I don't know how a character could ruin a game series.

Her and Kenny. I think so.

Well, I should state that I mean I don't like S2 as much because of these two characters.

  • Imo, no, she didn't.

  • Hmm, somehow I knew Kenny would end up in this thread. XD

  • I hope you do realize that the "confessions" tumblr spouts ridiculous posts, varying from "Arvo did nothing wrong" to "Chet should've been the PC in S2."

Don't think about it too much.

  • Blah blah blah Jane, blah blah blah Kenny, blah blah blah unstable, blah blah blah Jane and Kenny fans, blah blah blah Telltale... Blah blah blah.

Sorry, déjà vu must be getting to me.

  • Mostly bad writingsnd development of all characters (minus Clem and Kenny) were the problem in season 2. A lot of characters could have been written better

  • Bad writing and development of characters (minus Clem and Kenny) in season 2 were the problem sadly

  • Meh, not really. But that backstabbbing shit she did at the end made me so angry. I mean, I already had shot Kenny and he basically died because of her stupid plan. She could've been a good partner in crime to Clem if it weren't for that stupid fight between her and Kenny.

    You tried it OP...

Lol oh boy, what have you done.

  • As much as I hate Jane it wasn't just her that ruined Season 2. Pretty much every character was either an asshole or a complete waste of time as far as development goes (I'm thinking of Sarah and Luke with this one). And some of them didn't get any development at all (I'm thinking of Carlos, Troy and Clementine... yes Clementine). Only Season 2 characters I liked were Pete and Nick, and both of their character arcs got cut short before they were able to amount to anything.

I admit that I genuinely did not like Jane much. So I suppose I might of been a tad biased in favor of Ken. But yes I believe her character did drag season 2 further down the ditch a bit I'd say, but its not like S2 wasn't kind of headed that route anyhow even without her. Jane had such a bitter, manipulating cold attitude to everything and everyone in the beginning besides Clem because I guess she reminds her of the dead sis she left to perish. well Mike was kind of a butt-head too in the beginning but I suppose that's how you will turn out vacationing at Carver's camp whom was the most vicious in game bastard by far (I found his fate very satisfying if no one else would agree, no one but Kenny or Rebecca could had been more right for that).

I am not fond of Jane because she slanders and doesn't care much about other group members (beside Clem), and She wanted to leave grieving Sarah for dead twice because she was still mourning over her recently dead father all but a few hours ago, She is also too much of a manipulator. So far she has manipulated Troy, Clem, Ken, and Luke to further push her own agenda which has often lead to some treacherous result (Jane is kind of like the Littlefinger of the Walking Dead season 2 I want to say lol). Now Bonnie might be a dumb, lying backstabbing snake in the grass but I still feel like Jane can be worse to trust. Jane is like one of those type of folks you got to figuratively sleep with one eye open and can't turn your back on. At least Kenny wouldn't leave family to die nor jeopardize the life of an infant to prove his beliefs.

Now Jane's part in the Arvo/medicine situation is debatable to me, perhaps if Jane wasn't present Arvo would not had done any harm to Clem and Clem could had escaped since Arvo was too reluctant and hesitant to shoot Clementine for no reason (well... I mean the first time he had her at gunpoint anyway lol) but I felt if she was gonna have Arvo at gunpoint and scare the pants off him she shouldn't had let him go alive because it was obvious he'd simply return with his group to start some meaningless battle, even if you didn't rob him of his meds (and this should had been another awesome opportunity for another in game decision where Clem could choose to either tell Jane to kill or let him go, yet its another one of the many wasted opportunities in this game). Really Arvo getting angry over his dead sister was his and his entire groups own fault for ambushing and starting a feud.

  • Ruin is a strong word... She was there, stuff happened, people died, the end.

No ruining there, just a character surviving, nothing unusual.

  • There was nothing there to ruin in the first place, so no, she didn't.

No, Jane didn't ruin The Walking Dead Game...Telltale did :( with their rewrites, questionable realism and inconsistent plots and characters at times. You can't blame a character, that said after what happened in Season 2 it did take me a while to warm up to Jane properly because I was annoyed with what they did with her character, and how they were forcibly trying to make me like her when there were things I simply did not trust or agree with her about. Even with really liking her character now, I still don't trust her with Clementine or the baby.

What I love about Tales from the Borderlands is they're putting a lot of time and effort into that title and it shows, my god it shows! I wish Season 2 could've gotten that much tender loving care, but it's the past now...which I'm still bitter about and am not getting Season 3 unless it's incredibly mind-blowing >.>

  • Of course she didn't.

  • Lol

  • I didn't like her, but she didn't ruin the game, Kenny, the handling of the 400 days characters, people dying of screen, etc is what ruined the game for me.

I liked Jane well enough. She's not my favorite character but i had no problem with her. What was disappointing about the season for me was that the trailer led me to believe we were going to see more of Clementine kind of struggling to survive without Lee as a very young girl alone. I thought we would see more of her on her own, using her skills or picking up new ones, avoiding dangers, that kind of thing. I was really interested in seeing that story. I felt like the season didnt focus enough on her, instead choosing to focus on others. That and never knowing what happened to Christa were my biggest beefs.

  • I think the biggest problem with S2 were the inconsistencies in the story. Is she a little girl , is she a badass survivor. She has to have a identity, and the writers couldn't decide what they wanted to do. I don't think any one character was the reason S2 turned out the way it did, it was just poor choices in story writing, plot holes, and bad choices.

They're were so many missed opportunities, like Uncle Pete, Sarah, Nick that fans really cared about these characters, but they were pretty much tossed aside, and thrown away because of no reason. When you kill people off for just cheap reactions IE Luke's death, or Rebecca, Alvin, or anyone really in S2; it had less and less impact to the point where just stop caring.

  • Lol Kenny was the worst written part of S2...oh and episode 4. Really did they let the janitorial staff write it?

  • I don't think she ruined it, but her ending left a horrible taste in my mouth nonetheless.

No but I think she was a symptom shared with many characters, she was added too suddenly and her development was rushed. I felt like while I played, especially episode 4 that the game kept yelling "YOU HAVE TO LIKE JANE NOW" and it annoyed me a bit.

Had the season been double as long and she had been developed through a few episodes instead of one or two it would have helped the flow.

But the same could also be said of Carver (replace like with hate in his case), Pete, Walter and Bonnie. It was as if each episode had one feature character especially that you had to pay attention to and then feel something for suddenly. I always thought Sarah and Nick were the best developed S2 characters with Luke playing catch-up.

  • I dislike her, but that doesnt mean that I think that she ruined the series. That's just bullshit.

Her and Luke should have swap places in ep 5 . She should have been in the Ice.

  • Yeah, Because the Russians wouldn't of attacked

  • Yes but thankfully she ruined two episodes instead of the whole season

  • Yes she did!!!!!!!!!!! There was no reason to give her development more than the other main characters.

  • Jane is the reason Nick and Sarah are dead. I mean she got development more than them for no reason.
