Yeah, actually, I do think that she ruined the game. Because of her, the Russians attacked, Luke died, Bonnie died, and Kenny died. Bonnie and Kenny die from the choices you make. Also, if the Russians hadn't attacked, maybe the group would've went to the town that they were going to go to
I liked Jane well enough. She's not my favorite character but i had no problem with her. What was disappointing about the season for me was … morethat the trailer led me to believe we were going to see more of Clementine kind of struggling to survive without Lee as a very young girl alone. I thought we would see more of her on her own, using her skills or picking up new ones, avoiding dangers, that kind of thing. I was really interested in seeing that story. I felt like the season didnt focus enough on her, instead choosing to focus on others. That and never knowing what happened to Christa were my biggest beefs.
the weird thing is that i was primed to like her and i did at first, she was tough, independent and a survivor who had the skills and determination to be one of my favorite characters, but then it all went bad and she turned into a dramaqueen sh*t stirer and i just hate those kind of people in general .
but i think those kinds of inconsistencies are what made season two poor in comparison to season one, not just one character or choice in the game.
I'm having trouble understanding this comment. You say she's the reason "Luke died, Bonnie died, and Kenny died", and then you go on to say "Bonnie and Kenny die from the choices you make".
I don't see the point at shifting the blame on this one. Everyone who went into the herd, it was their choice. Jane told them to stay if they could not stomach it. Sarah panicked when her dad died and to rescue her Nick was idiotic enough to wander off on his own. Sarah can then either die because you can't force her to come or when half a building collapse under her.
I don't see Jane being blamed here, not any more than Nick, Kenny, Rebecca or Clementine.

I 100% cannot stand Jane. She irritates my soul. But she didn't ruin the game for me, none of the characters did. But if I can think of one character who had the potential to ruin the game, it would be.... Nah nah, I better not say.
I thought Jane was the best part of Season 2. I was already going down the path of trying to leave the group behind her being competent made me want to bring her with me despite her issues.

No, Jane didn't ruin The Walking Dead Game...Telltale did with their rewrites, questionable realism and inconsistent plots and characters a… moret times. You can't blame a character, that said after what happened in Season 2 it did take me a while to warm up to Jane properly because I was annoyed with what they did with her character, and how they were forcibly trying to make me like her when there were things I simply did not trust or agree with her about. Even with really liking her character now, I still don't trust her with Clementine or the baby.
What I love about Tales from the Borderlands is they're putting a lot of time and effort into that title and it shows, my god it shows! I wish Season 2 could've gotten that much tender loving care, but it's the past now...which I'm still bitter about and am not getting Season 3 unless it's incredibly mind-blowing >.>
When they preach that 'anybody can die' in their games, or that people just disappear and never show up again because those thing just happen in real life, then yeah, realism Wolf. Zombies haven't exactly stopped them doing those things I've mentioned and just because there's zombies doesn't just give it a free pass for flying unicorns x_x
The problems with the writing, i there has been multiple explanations, that i won't get into, but I think the biggest problem was, they didn't know how they wanted it to end, until the last minute, rewriting it, mid season has that effect.

How I haven't commented here, I got no clue, but as much as I hate Jane (which have subsided greatly), blame Carver (who I like) because basically everything.

because of internal politics, if you ever work for a Large Corporation, you will get sick of the bullshit quick. I worked for Nationwide for six years, got sick of it.
It is definitely fantasy, Humanity would have a much greater chance of going extinct from the nuclear holocaust before outrageous zombie apocalypse illness. But when the Walking Dead revealed to me how great they can turn something so stupid into an interesting narrative between characters I gave it a try and its not just about the dumb brainless monsters coming after the survivors its more so about the survivors themselves in relation to each another.. similar to Steven King's "The Mist" novel and movie.
Which I found equally interesting (speaking of which the director of that film directed or show-ran the Walking Dead's first season and half of the second season, I hate that he left.. he was the perfect candidate to do that) and kind of would think something even as far fetched as that could happen before a Walking Dead global outbreak scenario.
She didnt ruin the game, without her i doubt id have a character in the group i hate. Larry and Lilly served that role in the old days. Then i had nobody in episodes 1-3 (although she was in 3, she barely did anything noteworthy that showed her personality), and then i had Jane. I doubt there would be much conflict/someone (for me) to hate if she didnt exist.
She didn't ruin all the 2nd series fro me. I still think with villain arc with Carver was very good, but her fight with Kenny at the end of episode 5 I think was horrible. it feel forced. For me I started to hate her character after I saw her ending where she forced Clementine to leave Kenny. I am not a Kenny fan at all, but it seem to me that she forced her idea of wanting to have a second sister, with Clementine. Look if you think that Clem shouldn't be with Kenny then talk to her about it, don't force her hand and mislead her thinking the baby is dead.
for the record through, I got the alone ending I choice nether Kenny nor Jane. I seen both of them unstable and not safe to be with but that's just me.

i think you and crazy george summed it up quite well.
the choices they made with jane's character are just a symptom of the other bad choices made when designing the story/game.

Jane isn't the only one at fault for Sarah or Nicks deaths....

While I personally don't care much for her, I don't think she ruined the whole game.
None of the characters ruined the season.

She may have ruined it but our Lord and Savior Kenny saved the game!
Yes I know, Kenny can be too. I like Kenny but I wish Kenny and Jane never appeared in S2
Bonnie can die at the river and Jane manipulates Clem to shoot Kenny.
Amid the Jane?
No...
That would be the writers, Jane has no control.
If she was never in the game, they probably wouldn't have killed them. Ep 4 forced us to like Jane

There is no way she was the best part of S2.
I have read your opinion on Jane many times. Sometimes they are funny but I am not going t change my mind just because you don't like her.
You want realism in a zombie game?! God, some people..
Not just him
A huge HUGE percentage was.
Somewhat.

What a compelling argument, he has you beat Strat-Rocker.
I still can't understand why did the S1 writers leave before S2.
Yeah because Jane had more development than any other character this season.
Except that one guy. Y'know. Can't quite remember the name.

Clementine.
My point is the whole "zombie" thing is fantasy. I can't believe how ridiculous some governments are being; preparing for a "zombie apocalypse".
"Forced us"? I either chose hate replies or stayed silent. #TeamKenny.
I don't..
I'm not #TeamKenny that much, I just hate Jane so much
We all know someone is going to start a corporation called, uh, the raincoat corporation that will make the zombie virus or something.
Someone is probably trying to create an apocalypse as we speak. :P

How is this thread not flame bait?
