Is there really a completely logical reason to........?

Make sure the kids are fed in S1 when we're asked to distribute the food rations. I did feed them first because they were kids of course, but I mean, if you think rationally adults are clearly going to be more useful in an apocalypse than kids, so isn't it best to feed the adults ? I'm sure a lot of people while playing S2 E4, chose to help Jane up instead of asking her to save Sarah cause they initially thought they had to choose which one lives and which one dies, and helped Jane cause she was going to be more useful for the group than Sarah. Isn't it the same thing ? I feel so so bad while writing this lol. I was just wondering...

  • Sure its more useful but you should try to help the ones least able to help themselves.

  • Because you dont want cranky, hungry children on your hands who are going to make life harder for you?

  • Kids always first. Adults can endure much more time without food than kids. Kids don't have the same immune system as adults, besides they are growing up and need to be fed much more than adults. Kids are weaker and get sick much easier as well, their defenses aren't as built as an adult's. Kids are always the priority. Kids don't have to be less useful than adults though. Look at S2 Clementine compared to Ben, for example.

  • Feeding the kids, it is what adults have to do. They starve, everyone suffers.

  • Kind of goes with being a adult, is you give sacrifices so your children have better than you.

  • Hm.. moral obligation? I don't know if moral is logic. But it could also content the parents. Happy, not moaning, children can lift the spirits of the group.

  • Because I don't like Beef Jerky or Cheese and crackers.

  • What about an apple slice?

They are Clementine's favorite after all.

Apple slice is Clem's favorite. And Duck's favorite is beef jerky. Just don't give the food to Mark or Ben....especially Larry. And of course Kid's need food more than Adults.

  • especially Larry.

    Good man.

  • I always give some food to Mark precisely because of what's about to happen. Figure the guy deserves at least one more meal before becoming one, even if it's just a piece of jerky. Everyone else is about to steal a bunch of food for themselves anyway, and if you save Doug, he's about to eat half a basket of biscuits.

  • Kids should have been fed first. Just by proper etiquette alone. Anyway, I do have a question. How many crackers are in that crackers/cheese pack? Seems like 3 people could have split it.

  • I wouldn't call it moral. I would call it guilt through teary hunger.

  • WELL I THINK KEEPING MORALS AND HUMANITY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN SURVIVING 4EVAH SO YEAH HMMM IDUNNO

yes i think feeding the kids is more logical

  • Dead kids its just pure depression for the folks. Look at Kenny forexample.

  • It's only logical to feed the kids because they can't depend on themselves and are weaker then adults. I only choose to feed duck because it's the only way to feed kenny. I give it to duck, clementine, kenny and Ben.

It's always nice to come across other people who fed Ben. Even if you don't like him, you have to remember that he's technically a kid too.

  • I gave to Ben in my second playthrough, actually just like Mrwalto69.

  • Especially given that he never got to go back to his family, unfortunately because his not in the age group as duck and clementine he doesn't get any hand outs.
