Cut it off or Not?
In the game right when Lee gets bite, do you show the bite or hide it? I let the whole group see it so that I am totally honest with the group. Later In the game, after Lee gets bite, what would you do cut the arm off or keep it? When I played I cut Lee's arm off in hope that he could still be saved? Other than it being a pain in the butt for Lee, I think it was right. Was it??

He will die no matter what.
If it actually could change Lee's fate, I'd cut his arm off for sure. BUT since it doesn't matter in the end I just let his arm be. He doesn't have to endure any more unnecessary pain than he's already suffering. And I do show the bite to the group because I want to be honest to them. They're my people after all.
Had I not already known what happens, I would've cut Lee's arm off, and probably concealed the bite during a moment of panic. But since the ending was spoiled for me, I chose to reveal the bite and kept Lee's arm for convenience's sake. He does black out a few times if you don't cut it off, but I personally feel it's not worth the extra suffering.
I showed the bite, because i think is something your group should know, they would be angry if they find out i was bitten and didnt tell them, it could even put them in danger if they didnt know and Lee turns without anyone expecting it, it just felt like the right thing to do. And i did cut the arm off, i liked lee, i wanted to save him, the friendship between lee and clem was just...beautiful, and Lee was just awesome, and Clem wouldnt be the same without him, so i took the risk and cut off his arm, but it didnt matter, he was as good as dead.
I cut it off because yolo.
I showed the bite, because I would want any one in my group to tell me if they were ever bit. Hiding the fact can be very dangerous.
I cut it off to by some time. Getting Clem back was the only thing on my mind.
I showed the bite to the group likewise to be honest with them since they were people I trusted. Didn't cut the arm off because I was pretty sure it wouldn't change anything. Plus in that situation, whether sawing off the arm could stop the infection or not, just a bad idea period. In real life, I'd just take the L.
I showed my bite to the group, but I chose not to cut it off, as I kind of figured it was too late by that time, the infection had spread too far and cutting it off would literally do nothing. Plus, like Lee said:
I hid the bite and went to find Clem by my lonesome, and I didn't have the guts to cut off my arm by myself.
I showed the bite to the group, as I had played my Lee as pretty much completely honest up to that point. I also cut off his arm, even though I knew it was already too late by that time, because I figured that if there was even a bit of a chance it could work, Lee would want to take it.
I also did show the bite to the group. It's a death sentence and I didn't see much point of hiding it, because hiding it doesn't save Lee. People of the Walking Dead universe just do harm for their groups when they try to hide their bites.
I did cut off Lee's hand, because it's the only way to avoid the infection. Although I had a sneaking suspicion that the amputation might come too late and unfortunately I guessed it right.
I knew it wouldn't have saved Lee, I refused cause the infection was already in his body.
I think it would have been cool if he actually would have survived, but in the fight with the stranger, he got mortally wounded because he only had one hand.
I showed my bite to the group, as I felt being upfront with them about what happened to me is the right thing to do. I would have expected Kenny, Christa, Omid and even Ben to come forward and let me know that they were bitten. Honesty and being able to trust your group is KEY for survival, and I also knew they'd keep a good eye on me and go after Clementine if I happened to punch out.
I cut his arm off, as I wanted to lower Lees chances of dying from a 100% to a 99%, I know that doesn't sound like much, but I wanted to bring the chance of his demise down as low as I could, even if it was just by a tad. I also didn't want to give up hope, I wanted to keep a positive mindset and hold onto to the hope of "I might make it.. I just MIGHT."
Showed the bite because I trusted the whole group well enough at that point. And I knew quite well that they wouldn't just turn on me, not after everything that's happened.
As for the arm, well, the choice is called 'Desperation' on the end screen, so I guess you could say that's the mean reason I took it off
I already knew it was too late for it to work, but I figured that maybe it'd slow it down. And maybe the miniscule 0.0001% chance that it could work. Ergo, it was out of desperation more than anything.
Lee sums up all the reasoning quite well: "Maybe it'll work", "Fuck it", and "Even if it slows down the process I'd be happy"
That could have never happened Plotwise. If Lee got cured by cutting off his arm, how would he walk through that herd of walkers or escape with Clem safely?
By the way, I never cut it off. Even if Lee didn't turn he would probably die of blood loss and that saw probably had walker blood or any sort of shiz on there, it was Lee's finest hour and I couldn't let him experience it without a chance at survival, so I didn't cut it off, but I did tell the others, they had a right to know.
I don't see your point
If Lee survived miraculously by cutting off his arm, it would stop the infection spreading yes? That would be the only logical way Lee would survive, but if he did get cured, his smell would not change to a walkers and therefore not allow him to walk through the walkers like he did when he saved Clem, and if he did put zombie guts on himself, it would quickly spread to the open wound of where Lee cut his arm off. You see where I'm going with this? If Lee didn't get bitten, he would be unable to walk through the herd to get the Clem in the Marsh House, therefore ruining the whole point of the game. I think that'd be a worse ending to Lee dying.
Ah, I see. Well, he could have covered guts on himself, knowing he'd get blood in the wound, and then the rest of the game would play out normally.
It was too late.
I told the others about it because they had a right to know and I didn't want to keep it a secret. I did not cut his arm off, it was already too late by then and cutting it off would only cripple him
I showed the bite and I cut off the arm, any chance to survive is welcome, especially in Lee's case.
